Thanks for this. Had constant pooling around injector 3/4, replaced both seals and couldn't tell for the life of me where it was coming from. It's never the cheap problem!
Thanks a lot for you interesting Video. I'd like to know if I can use a used cover from another engine with the same reference and with no leak problem. In advance thanks a lot for your advice.
there are alot of things you left out in this video. If anyone else is looking to do this job remember to check if you have springy metal o rings in your injector seals that connect on the top. I had to disassemble everything twice because I was missing one from the old seals and couldnt find it anywhere. Also replace copper washer, that goes on the injector. If yours are badly carbed up I recommend some pliers to gently remove the old ones and before you take it out completely do some circles close to the tip of the nozzle, that way you have an easier time putting the new one back in. and if you are wondering which way the copper washer goes in, it goes in the flatter side towards the injector. Also what the f is the torque spec for the fuel rail?
@@martin494563 I'm not saying it's a simple job. Took me 2 days of scratching my head and going back and forth between the parts store to get missing tools and getting the correct parts. If I had to do it again I would start of by checking which tools are needed, then I would disassemble the rocker cover. cover it up with some plastic or shoprag. Also cover every fuel line with some non residual tape. Next step would be to go the parts store (make sure you have another car you can borrow) and cross reference your old parts so that you avoid having to drive there multiple times. Compare your gasket thorougly as it may look the same on the surface but it may still be slightly different. I dont have the exact torque specs on me right now but I can fetch them on request. If you need any help feel free to ask lol :)
Hi mate beautiful video, really great job! Meanwhile i have a question i changed the injector seals everything is ok, but now i have oil leak under 2nd injector, its coming from injector sitting plastic cover. I wonder if can i change the plastic injector sitting without taking out the whole gasket cover like in this video? Can i take it by taking out injector only? I bought the plastic injector sitting "seal" but i wonder if i should start doing it at all. Im sure i have damaged it, because 2nd injector was stuck. Cheers!
Having seen you strugle to remove number two injector,l think some high temp ceramic grease would be very advisable for the bottom section of the fuel injectors. Not on the nozzle tip but above this area ,where you had the corrosion sizure issue with number two.
Hi Vitaliy, thanks a lot for this helpful video, but I have a problem with Golf 6 (2010 - automatic) with big white smoke. Can you advise me please to find a solution for this big smoke from my car . Thankt a lot again
Wow thank you…. I have my Passat 1.6 tdi b7 2011 outside for nearly one year, because oil was leaking somewhere next to dpf, and smoking badly, so thought maybe rocker cover gasket cause I couldn’t see where the hell it was coming from.. injector seals look fine but couldn’t get no 1 injector out for hours, bent crow getting it to move and once I got it out it’s sat there since. The copper washer is also stuck down no 1 hole. Well today I took my revenge and started to look at it 😂. How did you get the injector holes so clean ? Will order a rocker gasket even tho the old one looks ok and try and remember how to put together again with the massive help from your video. Views might go up a few hundred 😂. Am I correct in thinking that there’s another liquid oil sealing gasket that needs to come off if removing the camshaft, it doesn’t look damaged as the black line seal seems ok looking, but worried that after fitting the rocker gasket and doesn’t stop the leak then it could be that possibly. I’ve got Ross tec vcds cable / unlimited. But hoping I can get it to start after getting it put back together 🙏🙏
Hi! Thanks for the comment! I process the seat for the injector washer with an end mill (available for sale for different diameters of the well), then I wipe everything with a cloth and WD. If there were problems with extracting the injector, then most likely it will not work correctly after installation. It will have to be adjusted on the stand. All rubber seals are strongly recommended to be replaced. Their cost is nothing compared to the problems that may arise. The most likely cause of an oil leak is a gasket or mother valve cover. Unfortunately, it is necessary to diagnose on a car, according to the description it is difficult to give an unambiguous answer. I wish you a successful renovation. Everything will work out for you!
@@vitaliyburnashov537 Hello! My number 3 injector is stuck and my mechanic said that we must use an exctracting tool for injector. After we use that tool, do i need to take injector to a stand to be recalibrated ? If yes, why? What is happening there?
@@adrianionut7680 Hello. Your mechanic is right. If you use a puller, I strongly recommend that you adjust the injector on a bench. Hey Vitaliy Thank you for such a good video. Much help to me. I have an oil leak from injector number 1 stem, not from the whole cover. Is it possible to just change the seal without removing cover? Best Regards
Thanks for the comments. You can just change the seal. To do this, remove the injector. In this case, I would also replace the seal of the second injector.

Hi, great video, i may have a leaky injector seal but i am also getting a bit of an oil leak out of my inlet turbo pipe which im hoping is excessive blow by from the crankcase breather , is it possible to replace the crank case breather in the rocker cover or is it a case of a new rocker cover?

Very helpful video, thank you for taking the time. Could I please ask the Torque Nm for the heater plugs and is there a specific sequence the the cam cover bolts ?
Leakage will increase over time. In addition to the aesthetic state of the engine, toxic fumes will be added, caused by oil getting on hot surfaces. Personally, I would consider solving the problem. It's like dental caries: you go to the dentist earlier - it's cheaper and less pain))
Hey Bro Great video! I’ve replaced injector rubber grommets but still leaks. I’ve done your test and looks like leak is coming from stretch bolt seal… is that possible? Also, after performing test by blocking crankshaft ventilation pipe I’ve started experiencing lots of white smoke and also smoking from flange between turbo and DPF. Scanning no errrors and smoke from exaust pipe/flange comes and goes, not consistent. Is it possible that by blocking ventilation pipe I’ve pushed some oil into turbo?
I have a problem with engine oil leakage. I found it in the intercooler. Please note that I changed the gearbox twice and the problem remains the same. What is the problem? Please tell me the engine is 1.6 TDI 105 CV. Thank you.
Yes, I used ODIS. The engine will start without diagnostic equipment. It will be necessary to turn on and off the ignition two or three times and turn the starter a little longer
Hi bro I am going to do the same with my vento.oil leakage from tapped cover. So tell me one thing after adding seals do we need do service for injectors...kindly confirm
Hi. If there are no other problems besides oil leakage and if the injectors are removed by hand, without the need for a puller or hammer), then I do not see the need for their revision. Naturally, everyone should be put in their place.
Injector 3 and 4 on my 1.6 TDI leaks a lot and ive noticed that the oil level have decreased. The car feels jerky when cold but no stench of oil inside the car or something. Do you the problem is the same ?
In your case, first of all, it is necessary to carry out diagnostics in order to find out unstable idling. Most likely the injectors need revision. On this motor they are capricious). Naturally, the leakage will need to be eliminated (as I understand it, we are talking about oil leaks, not fuel). On the car in the video, oil was flowing, it got on hot parts and it stank of burning in the cabin.
Hello. most often leaks from the return of the injector. I recommend thoroughly cleaning the surface and localizing the leak. Also, during installation, the O-ring could be damaged or simply defective.
@@vitaliyburnashov537 May I also add that I'd agree it's vital to inspect the O rings on the injectors and take off lines.. Don't forget to renew the copper washers on the tip of the injectors too
In this video, I diagnosed the exact cause. You can change everything in a row, but money does not fall from the sky for car owners)). Do you have any idea how much a valve cover costs? Why change it if there is no crack? There are times when it cracks at the seam, then another story. it all depends on the specific damage. I wish you successful repairs!
