The children trapped in Bangladesh's brothel village

- Daulatdia is an entire village in Bangladesh dedicated to prostitution. Every day, 1,600 trafficked, enslaved and abandoned women and girls sell themselves for £2 a time.
Subscribe to The Guardian on RUclips ► bit.ly/subscribegdn
In the midst of the trade live 300 children, many born in the village. Some will be groomed to be the future of the business like their mothers and grandmothers. With education and support, a few may find their way out

I am from Bangladesh and am now living in Canada. I used to live in Jeshore, which was close to this brothel. I used to hear about this brothel quite frequently. However, I did not pay much attention to this subject. I started to realise the situation in Doulatdiar when I visited Dhaka, and the media discussed this issue on television. Watching this video broke my heart. Watching young girls and little children go through this in my country, as well as the other inconveniences many Bangladeshi individuals must endure. To this day, I get chills running down my spine thinking about what the women and children that inhabit this brothel go through every day. I hope this will all change one day, and the innocent individuals that inhabit this town will be free after many years, and for some, for the first time in their lives.
I am Bangladeshi, but born in Canada. I can say without a doubt that I was very lucky to have been born here where the security is better. My heart goes out to all the Bangladeshi children & anyone else who has been treated this way. It is not okay, and it disgusts me to my core.

Children have the purest souls
@@emilyfernandez3675 yes they do..a childs innocence is a very beautiful thing!
We all as children had this ignorance to the responsibilities and worries of the world around us. Calling it "strength" is just misleading and not giving enough credit to their actual situation, which is, them not knowing better. That's way worse.
When you refer to a Child of her age as she's somehow not able to distinguish between right and wrong and in fact being ignorant to the environment that they live, I think that you give him too little credit. When they experience traumatic events as effect to violence, separation from family, sexual abuse etc. they also build up resilience that is scientific proven to be found in childrens behavior at early ages. At The same time, they can develop a mental health issue when they're older or they can develop anxiety that is usually manifested as worry or somatic issue as abdominal pain or headache. What I find it really, really beautiful in this Child behavior is his coping mechanism and that is the thing that I pointed out. I don't simplify things to that point that you're refering at.
She is not seeing the beauty in things but she eats from the trees
Imagine having your dignity and sanity sold by your own family 🤢 unforgivable!

This video was made 6 years ago. I just realized that me and the 9 year old are both the same age, 15. I hope she is in a much better situation today
This just breaks my heart!! All those lost people and children with no one to turn to, so they do the only thing they know can pay the bills!! Simply heartbreaking.
Let’s start a petition to save this precious angel by being adopted and bringing her to the US or SOMEWHERE other than where she’s at!!!!!
Addicted to Ysenia any idea how to do this I would be interested
I agree...where should we start??? Because this is sicking.
Yea how about u do it , liberals always telling others to foot the bill
That won't solve the problem, the kidnapping has to be stopped, but the police and govt are themselves linked to the corruption, because the kidnappers pay money to police so that they won't get arrested.
and here you are, probably doing nothing lol
Did anyone notice the men having a certain look on their faces
Yes, it's called being an indian
Mike ...
faceless sea Almost like a smirk.
The smirk of predators who have no compassion nor empathy for the poor children they lust after.
I would like to beat the smirks off their faces.
Why do I worry that this 'adoptive mother' is just biding her time until she can turn the little girl out? She seems to have no interest in sending her to school at all.
She needs taking away from her.
One of the men said everyone should enjoy them self but the woman don’t enjoy them self and it disgusting what these man do makes me sick
@jfsfrnd it is disgusting and terrible, inhumane behaviour
@jfsfrnd not all men tho but yeah it is really horibble and these kids should be helped
@jfsfrnd yeah
If they don't they'll probably die of hunger. Not many options. @@leme3634
Ikonic Ikonic That’s how men work.
Let’s be honest, if you escape from that place, you’re probably gonna have ptsd from it. No joke
Ptsd,?
Post tramautic stress disorder
They already do have, just dont realize these things are bas
They can over come ptsd, I’m trying to understand how their culture finds any of this acceptable, the sex legal doesn’t bother me at all, but they can evolve to higher standards for living and education, morals and treatment of other humans
Some people just don't realize how fortunate they are, even though not born rich but to lived in an environment where you are safe and eat 3x a day. my heart breaks for these children.
I am new to cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, but I am very interested and curious to start investing in it, although I do feel this is kind of late now. Can anyone tell me what I need to do?
There are also organizations that help maintain your interest and protect you from the unnecessary risk which you can't predict on your own.
💯Legit
@Kittanon Joomcom Everybody has been talking about (Richard A. Blair Fx) so I'm not surprise you mentioned him again is this his contact
🙏
It's not too late to invest. Though cryptocurrencies are getting more volatile. This means you should only invest with companies with professional traders and a guaranteed level of return.
I've never ever in my life wanted to pay for someones education so badly. I swear if I ever make it to a place where I have more then enough more to spare I will.
Same man I’m 18 and my parents were born in Bangladesh, and I was born in America. But once I have enough money for me, I will try to help my countrymen.
I pray before I leave this earth I am in a position to help young girls and boys like this
Me too.
A little bit of something is better than a lot of nothing. We can all give something no matter how little
when she said "we just want to play" I cried my eyes out, no child should have to experience their childhood in such environment
😔💔
Give me wealth and I will multiply it with the sole purpose of helping children like this.
This is wrong on all levels
“Everything is blooming...” that made me cry.
Same. 😔
But their lives aren't😢

the lust of men never ceased and they caused the innocent children to suffer as well.
Mohd Raymee Marhom That’s beyond simple lust. The sickness of men never cease.

Those little girls sounds incredibly mature.... ore mature than they should ever have had to be at such a young, tender age.

This world is so cruel. That little girl made me cry
2.53 if you listen carefully, she's actually asking the camera man/interviewer to give them a place to play away from the brothel. Not translated well enough and so sad 😢
So, they mistranslate most of what they say?
2:53
Jasmin Salmon not rly it still got the overall gist of what they were saying
I am a Bengali so I can confirm it. There are few mistranslation.
😢
what a clever girl in such a miserable place
Its heartbreaking
No childhood
Forced to quickly grow up amd face the harsh realities of life
yea you can see she is smart its painful to watch this and know her fate is already set like cards on a table
This thing bring tears to my eyes as a human mother a west Indian lady

Exactly.
Great point!!!!!
Please bear in mind that people who make such video will be followed by such men to find out where they live. Such dangers are real.
I am crying. She just wants to study 😭I hope the little girl is safe.
Ohio Destiny the little ones just wanted to play and the older girl who wasn't much older at all just wanted to study 😭💔
I hope these kids will grow up and live the lives of their dreams because they deserve it. I can't imagine the fear the mothers must have when their child goes outside.
I want to pay for the little girl's education and well being, if you are from bangladesh and can help her directly please tell me , I am an Indian.
omg i cannot watch this... i feel the need to fly over there right now and save these children

egg yolk - You would get grabbed, painted & sold, just like the others.
Matt The Cat we need to open a martial arts dojo on the outskirts of the town
You’ll prob get arrested by the police cause of the extreme corruption, poor kids😰
That little girl was so gorgeous and polite and lovely and spirited. The poor thing
What a cursed life this is
After 7 years, The Govt. Of Bangladesh did not take any Action
They take one action, taking commisions from the Syndicates
I've been watching so many videos lately, all about how other's live around the world. So I say to myself...have I been this clueless, is this all really happening? Is this the world we live in? No help for these children!! Bless the woman who is trying to make a difference!!
Mary Reynolds that's exactly what I said to myself... it's heartbreaking really
Mary Reynolds Yeah, but I wonder how much the Guardian gave these family to film those. I doubt it’s anything
Mary Reynolds I feel the same way about this ! Absolutely saddening
Amen
Yup and meanwhile in America we are worried about the dumbest of things...oh there are too many sexy women in video games and omg a guy said hi to me on the street and said I'm pretty....these folks are suffering a really hard life. It makes me ashamed sometimes the things I worry about which amount to nothing compared to these poor children.
