      He did not pay a single penny forcibly. It’s not a scam if you agree to the deal and only pay what you want to pay.
      If anyone got scammed, it’s the people he looked for and played along with them to film them and make money off of them while giving them a fraction of what he will get from filming and defaming them.

      @@rayan5150 Stop yapping bro. So you're saying it's fine to upcharge tourists 10-20x the price? It's fine to pretend to be authority in order to coerce tourists to give them money? (fake Giza workers). It's fine to harass random people for money and pretending to give them free items out of "kindness". It's fine to take away buisness from the actual honest vendors and workers that sell items at real market prices and encourage others to scam as well to not get outcompeted?

      It's not surprising at all. It has nothing to do with greed, it has to all do with poverty. Shoe shinning is the lowest rung on the social ladder, and now suddenly a windfall happens.
      It's like winning the lottery on a shared ticket, one got $100k, the other $10 million. The former would be very upset at not having received a larger share, despite now being $100,000 richer. And at anyrate, it is another one who was sitting by them who told him to calm down and stop it.

    I lived in Cairo in 1981-1983 for 2 years working on a large construction project for Laing. I traveled a lot within Egypt back then and there were no scams whatsoever. The city was cleaner too. Egyptians have become poorer today because of an explosive growth in population and a struggling economy that has not caught up. A scam culture has emerged because of this I think. Egyptians were very honest and down to earth back then and I remember many instances where strangers would pay for my food. The govt needs to do something about the scammers.

      Fixers have always been a staple for vloggers but some go it alone. The new thing for male vloggers is renting a local girlfriend that can navigate things for you. They are all over the dating apps. It's not about sex but often that can be negotiated, or not if she's into you and you're that kind of guy. Either way, a fixer, male or female, can save you a lot of hassle and even money. If you are a female going to these places solo for some reason, you should absolutely look into a fixer. This guy wasn't a government official, him and his people print this unknown ID and wear it to make you feel that they're trustworthy, I am not saying that to polish the government officials because they're as guilty as the scammers of ruining the country's image worldwide, as long as they allow such people to make living this way,. and in fact, some government officials are way worse that what you saw. and the crazy thing is: one time I went to the pyramids and i kept telling everyone there to be careful and pointed at the individuals they should avoid "i don't know them by name, i just watched how they scammed people on that day" and was telling everyone what to say to avoid them speaking to you, one of the scammers found out and gathered a few of his chooms and came at me to beat me up, but I had to lie and tell them that my dad is a general in the Egyptian police and has lots of contacts in tourist police department so, you can lay your hands on me now but, you'll never come back here or go back home. "I have choosen this scenario because police brutality in Egypt is worse than your worst imagination about how corrupt and brutal they really are, so much that an officer can shoot you in public where too many witnesses are but his department will make up a story to legalize the act whether it's shooting or aggression, and no one will dare to witness and say the truth because they don't just go after the witness, but their entire maternal and paternal family. it's crazy to say that and so sad but it's the truth, and I am not trying to ruin the country's image, I am actually telling the world the truth about a lace where the oldest wonder of the world is hoping that an honest official could see this and do something about it "but it's so sad because I wrote it and i also know that it'll never happen"

    Well that seemed about as fair a presentation as could have been developed, Harry. You expressed frustration with the stressful and aggressive bargaining techniques and potential for scams, but you did so whilst being leniant, tolerant and respectful of the totality of Egyptian culture. You presented an honest representation of your experiences in Egypt, but you did not judge a culture based upon one offense to your sensibilities. Very well done, Harry.

      The people that built the pyramids were a completely different group of people. Pale, european in appearance. They viewed the people who conquered them later as beasts. It's like visiting the shire after it was conquered by Saruman. Why would you do it?

    • @woodykusaki9970
      @woodykusaki9970 2 месяца назад +6

      Pale, European in appearance? I would think they'd be a bit tanner due to Sudan/Nubia being directly below it.

    • @Sinekyre14
      @Sinekyre14 2 месяца назад

      @@woodykusaki9970 The Egyptian elites were not native to the African continent at all. The entirety of north-Africa was colonized by various people at various times, and there are almost no black africans at all in Tunisia, Egypt etc. I know because I've been there. Blacks are treated worse than their camels if they try to enter these countries. Right now, it's colonized by arabic peoples who flooded the world from Sassanid persia. They have conquered much of the ancient world because Islam is such a powerful force, but it wasn't always like that.
      For centuries, parts of north-Africa was colonized by a germanic people, for instance. It was colonized by Romans for centuries. Even further back, blondes and redheads were not uncommon in ancient egypt. Tombs of the pharao's show that they have light traits and look basically like modern Spaniards. Greeks were known for their blonde hair at one point. Achilles had light, golden hair. Same with Apollo. Greek and Roman leaders commonly had red and blonde hair. Roman historians wrote that they admired the beautiful blonde haired Greek women. Dacia, modern Romania, was also noted as as entirely blonde population by the romans. All these ancient civilizations were conquered through decadence and immigration. The entire ancient world was dominated by people with light eyes and light hair, R1b haplotype, and this is proven by archeological findings and tombs. China banned further studies into this after it was found that many of their ancient tombs didn't have Chinese people in them.
      Ancient persia was populated by people with light hair and light eyes. Modern Europeans stem from a people who originated in Eurasia, then populated the middle-east, Persia etc. What happened was that they became decadent, imported slaves, then the slaves became the majority. Modern day Egyptians are a completely different population from ancient Egyptians.

      @@Sinekyre14 Interesting.. I thought Europeans only came flocking to Egypt after Alexander the Great then later, the Romans. The pyramid building was way before that. Khufu as far as I know is from the Old Egyptian Kingdom dating some 2,500 BC. So that's around 2 millennium before Alexander the Great's conquest. The Arabian peninsula to its east and the black Africans from Nubia to its south is way closer to Egypt than Celtic Europeans. It's a bit difficult to imagine the pyramid builders looks closer to Europeans than the Arabs/Nubians. Perhaps after it got conquered by the Greeks, it's believable but before that, I find it hard to imagine.

    In Egypt, as in many places, there are those who resort to scams out of desperation, often driven by the need to provide for their families. However, the true beauty of Egypt lies in its people, their warmth, kindness, and resilience. While we should work to stop scams, it's equally important to create spaces for understanding and support. A helping hand is always more powerful than deceit, and perhaps with compassion, those in need may choose honesty over desperation. ❤ 🇪🇬
