I’ll come back on here when my toe is healed and show you guys it’s just in the stage of growing back. It’s not a fungus, it’s damaged due to an incident that my toe nail was ripped off. I cover it because one it looks better and kind of protects my nub that I have because it’s sensitive without anything on it. I’m not telling anyone to do this, this is what I do and works for me and I’m super careful. A toe nail takes forever to grow back, the dark spots are bruises and blood. I don’t really have to explain to y’all but I’m trying to inform to y’all my situation. lol please stop spreading lies about my toe to these people especially if you don’t know what you’re talking about. Please don’t feel bad about ya toe sis! Mines is the same as yours and I also use a jell nail on both. I had a temporary and a permanent surgery on both my toes for ingrown toenails. So the permanent surgery was done by burning the nail root under the skin. In turn that made my toenails on my two big toes very skinny from being cut on both sides twice. Any ways they take about a year to grow back . Mine will fall off it I bump them . Some times they bleed but most times the whole nail falls off. At least we figured out a way to keep them cute! It’s like I always have a half of nail. They don’t grow in strait or flat ! 😢! I’ve bumped into the couch pop, and it off! The frig , pop! The pool , pop! Tub pop. So I stay ready keep the glue on you especially on trips. Ohhh luggage pop!
I keep mines shorter than my skin. Just so it has nothing to hook onto! Plus I’m telling you that pop hurts when you bump them. Thankful the ingrown toenails are gone and the pain too! Frfr but I hate loosing my nails yearly.
I would just not put anything on it for a little bit, The friction of that tip can actually cause it to heal slower right question markind of like a callous

The minute I start to see any white tip/growth at the end of the nail, my clippers are coming out because they are so uncomfortable whether that's in shoes or scratching yourself in bed 😂 I honestly can't stand claw feet. They can still be pretty and painted just not long
Shouldn’t that nail heal and grow out completely before you go stressing it with a false nail? And isnt that extension a bit long for the damage nail? I had an injury to my pinky nail fall of 2023. It left a split in the middle of the nail from sidewall to sidewall . I left it alone. The split finally finally grew out to the tip of the nail and I have a very short falsey covering it now for the first time since then, days before valentines day. That nail is barely peaking over the finger to be as little stress on the apex as possible ( that was the split area prior) I get you want it cute but the absolute slightest injury, stubbed toe, could be painful and cause more injury to that poor nail bed. Even the slightest shoe pressure on the the nail edge would be concerning.
Your toe got damaged probably from wearing fake nails on your toes. I feel like people forget that it's actually very dangerous to wear fake nails and something like this can damage your natural nails so badly that it actually causes it to be stunned and stop growing. Than you would have to go to a dermatologist to get your whole nail removed. That's why toe doctors tell you to not do things like this and get a medical pedicure.

Actual toe doctors will tell you this and professional nail stylist will as well and how to properly take care of your feet. When you break the nail you are exposing it to bacteria and fungus from open wounds. Once a nail get damaged it can hurt so bad that you have to get it removed. You should actually to the research and with the acrylic you have to be extra mindful about your shoes as well because your feet are most likely to be pinched if you are not wearing extra wide barefoot type shoes. Their was even TV shoes about doctors talking about feet and toes. Nail salons don't tell you the actual damage of the products they use even more so with the cancerous polish and lights and toxic chemicals touching your skin and getting absorbed by the nail bed. If you can't handle the truth then that's on you but so many of these beauty products and extreme steps woman take end up hurting you in the long run. That's why doctors tell you to stop using these type of things when you are pregnant and have a baby around because it's toxic and dangerous. Society need to wake up or end up sick.
Ya thats what I was thinking. She should let that fully heal & grow back. I'd be doing everything I could to grow it back, not cover it up. That's how you get really nasty infections... Unless she has a condition to where it just won't grow back. That happens to if there's alot of trauma to the nail.
That nail is so long… do you live in Florida where flip flops are daily wear or do you buy shoes a size too big cause I could not stand this in my daily regular shoes nor could my socks? No judgment, real question. Great hack! You did a great job!

I had an injury to my nail, but I was tooo scared to add a tip to it. The nail was detached from the nail bed. So I went a while without nails cause I refused to walk around with 9 nails lol ………. i’m also so confused by the comments why is everyone so pressed that she likes her toenail long. That’s the fun part about nails you get to express yourself however you want if you’re boring just say that. Sometimes I like to be boring and sometimes I like to be bold. But let people be it’s not that deep.
I would say if u have damage like hers, use the apres tips and buy young nails keratin fiber gel. It has keratin in it, and so far, it's the only thing I use under the apres tips that doesnt cause more damage but helps to keep nail strong. Just make sure u have the flash cur lamp AND a regular LED. *pro nail tech*

I used to not file mine amd my boss thought they was my real toe nails and he always made fun of me but it didn't bother me because he didn't have a clue that i had to have both big toenails removed from wearing combat boots for 13 years.. so it didn't hurt my feelings but it did hurt something... Anyway.. she's not trying to be mean she's just trying to tell you it needs shaped a little and not be as long.
I agree. As a nail tech, I'm very particular about making sure all nails are proportionate. This big toe nail is 2x longer than all the others and looks funky as heck. I can't stand long toe nails to begin with. But if your gonna keep them longer, at least make them all the same length. 😊

Do your long toenails bother you when you wear shoes or are you used to it? I cant let my toenails grow much cause it’ll hurt me when I wear shoes and feel like sometimes they stab the sides of my other toes, but I love the longer nail look 😢

I had that toenail bed before in 2010. I was in boots a lot because of military. I tried my mom's meds they prescribed her for her toes and it grew back and has been amazing since.
I feel this! I found sandals that have big bows that go across the front of my top foot (where toes and bunions are) and it hides it so well! Perfect for summer without showing too much. I thought I’d suggest because I know the embarrassment is real!

I would also put a toenail tip on to protect the toenail whilst it’s growing back. I lost all my fingernails because I had a reaction to polygel a few years ago and I was shocked and embarrassed at how bad my fingers looked. My daughter was a therapist but had given up and I,learned everything from her. I told nobody for 12 months what happened until they all grew back healthy. I used the packs of glue on nails so I could change them regularly. First of all I soaked my fingers in bleach to kill the infection then Just looked after them weekly. I’ve never used polygel again and never had an issue since. I do my own Kiara Sky Gelly Tips now and love them. You carry on doing what you are it looks amazing. I’m tempted to try false toenails for the summer lol😂x
Why are yall assuming that her nail is damaged due to a false nail. Trauma to a nail can cone from hitting it or dropping something on it. I dropped a 25 lb weight on mine and it hasn't grown back properly since. That was in 2011. I wear a false nail. It's cuter too tbh and you can keep nails healthy by diet and nutrition

Mine is like yours now exactly and i being thinking how can i fix it cos its not much for overlay or tips. My toe was like this too because of a bad acrylic big toe I got done at a Chinese shop. It took MONTHS to grow back but you gotta let it breathe and not put anything over it. Keep it cleaned too
I would have went a bit shorter with the extension bc the plate is much shorter than usual so you could damage it more if you hit your toe on anything or flip the nail up. Looks great tho. ❤
U have an infection on your big toe you need to clean it and disinfect it until it heals. 😮 Your not supposed to cover it like that until it's healed up.
I broke my toenail in half year recently and it looks almost identical and I have an old scar in it so it has a line across it's nice to see that I'm not the only one that has that issue
One of my big toes is damaged too and it sucks how ling they take to heal. Except mine died split in half, one half is empty all the way to the skin and the other side still attached to my toe so idk is i should cut one half because pulling a nail off your own toe hurts!!!

It's apres. Says it on the box she pulls out. I can vouch they work well. But i use Young nails keratin fiber gel with their protein bonder instead of aivy or whatever she used. It's durable and has keratin.

I damaged my toe by falling on thin ice bent my big toe all the way back it swelled in my shoe and dam I had to get it cut, it’s not fungus but people don’t know so they judge.., we living in a big ole judgmental cess pool… you did a nice job though💕
long toenails are nice but if they get pushed inside ur shoes it can cause ur to nail to lift and you are more likely to get toe fungus. keep them trimmed.
OK SOOO….i had the same thing and I literally only put Vicks vapor rub for like 2 weeks and wrapped it for the night. IT WENT AWAY AND I HAVE NORMAL nail growing. Please try it.
Wow. I bet that hurt like a mother when it happened. Chemo, believe it or not, has never made me nauseous but it makes my skin weird and my nails are thin like paper. The white part peels off but the toenail bed is OK. Can I do this?

I had to have mine removed so for my big toes i use fake toenails and it gives me confidence to wear my flip flops i have had the most committed relationship if my life with. I suggest trimming and filling it to a shorter length and maybe natural shape. It took me a while to figure that out.

Just dont put on infected toe. Open wound. Or fungal toe. This example was ok as long as its checked regularly and not left on too long.

Use oregano oil makes your nail clean even if its by trauma to the nail ...file it then apply one drop after shower everyday

You shouldn’t be fixing it till it heals. Glue is not so good for the skin

I stopped using Apres tips because they are thick and feel heavy on my clients' nails. However, I do like their hard gel in the gold bottle.
How long do ur apres nails stay on? I put mine on and they fell off the same night. Idk what i did wrong, i followed each step it came with

My toe was like this too because of a bad acrylic big toe I got done at a Chinese shop. It took MONTHS to grow back but you gotta let it breathe and not put anything over it. Keep it cleaned too
I would have went a bit shorter with the extension bc the plate is much shorter than usual so you could damage it more if you hit your toe on anything or flip the nail up. Looks great tho. ❤
How did the injury happen? Were you wearing a long toe tip at the time?
U have an infection on your big toe you need to clean it and disinfect it until it heals. 😮 Your not supposed to cover it like that until it's healed up.

One of my big toes is damaged too and it sucks how ling they take to heal. Except mine died split in half, one half is empty all the way to the skin and the other side still attached to my toe so idk is i should cut one half because pulling a nail off your own toe hurts!!!

That nail needs to breathe and be healed. Covering it will only make it worse and will literally invite bacterial growth due to trapped moisture.
I totally agree the best thing to do is wait till the nail heals. maybe a old school press on, if you have to show your feet and then remove asap.

It's apres. Says it on the box she pulls out. I can vouch they work well. But i use Young nails keratin fiber gel with their protein bonder instead of aivy or whatever she used. It's durable and has keratin.

long toenails are nice but if they get pushed inside ur shoes it can cause ur to nail to lift and you are more likely to get toe fungus. keep them trimmed.
OK SOOO….i had the same thing and I literally only put Vicks vapor rub for like 2 weeks and wrapped it for the night. IT WENT AWAY AND I HAVE NORMAL nail growing. Please try it.

I had to have mine removed so for my big toes i use fake toenails and it gives me confidence to wear my flip flops i have had the most committed relationship if my life with.
I suggest trimming and filling it to a shorter length and maybe natural shape. It took me a while to figure that out.
