Snare sounds good dude!!! Way better than I thought.

Thanks, Dude!! It was quite surprising. Might not be good for everything but, especially in mixes like that second song clip, it works like a charm! No one would ever think I'd used a snare drum that had been pulled out of a trash bin. 🤐

Things have redemption in them. They may be just things, but they have spirit and character (just as you said, Brian) and deserve respect. My first drum is a older used Pearl Forum snare sold to me cheap. I cleaned it up, tuned it, put an old Slingerland stand under it, and began learning. Love this drum and a good while will pass before I'll feel need for a better one. I'm happy too with my hi hat that began with one 14-inch cymbal because it was available for $10. (Doing things this way, I might have spent double for my kit. Yet, I'm happy that I did it this way because of the learning experience.)

One man's trash, am I right? Looks like that Westbury is a step above the normal entry level snare. Nice work!

Thanks! Happily, it worked out. I was fully prepared for it to end badly (which might’ve made for a funnier video).

The pdp fusion beginner kits even come with stick saver rims. Another weird thing about PDP drum wood now is they call it poplar, then on another site its labeled as hybrid birch! I made it really hybrid by installing aluminum foil in the rack toms.

They should put stick saver hoops on every beginner snare drum. Perfectly named!
“Hybrid Birch” sounds like a word that some marketing guy came up with. 🤦‍♂️ And I have GOT to hear your rack toms with aluminum foil in them. Taking that Bonham bass drum trick to a whole other level, huh?! 👍🏻👍🏻
