Very nice vehicles. Being old-school, however, I still can't get over the name "Blazer" being used on a small SUV that can't go off-pavement.... How about a Blazer EV ZR2???

After adding the obligatory $10,000 in options plus dealer markup to the price of these Blazers, I am not happy with the $45,000 to $85,000 these things are going to command at the dealer. I don’t need a new electric crossover SUV with a cramped interior that much. And I am also not interested in paying $500 to $1,000 to replace 1 tire on these rigs. I am ok with the advertised range however.
Do you know if the super cruise feature and red interior will be available at an extra cost on the RS trim level?? Or are these spec specific only on the SS
I'm wondering when they are going to release the numbers for the horsepower on the RS AWD. They are supposed to be selling the car this summer so I'd think they'd need to get that out soon. I find it odd that you can get horsepower numbers on the Equinox which will be released later. I can understand not releasing prices on the Equinox until the last minute but you'd think they'd know the horsepower on the Blazer or at least a close number. I'm hoping they keep a large rear wheel motor on the AWD RS.

Serious question - do larger tires increase ground clearance and help avoid scraping at driveways etc. ?
@@amigajoe In most cases it does not. Smaller wheels increase the height of the tread wall. Larger wheels decrease the tread wall height giving less rubber cushion contacting the road. It's really the suspension design that affects ground clearance.
@@bassistdc That’s what I thought. And from everything I’ve read bigger tires are usually less comfortable of a ride as well. I imagine it depends on the height of the tire, but with the trend being the bigger tires and lower profiles.
It wasn’t a deciding factor but the fact that we are looking at an ionic 5 Rear Wheel Dr. versus all-wheel-drive, the smaller wheels and the softer ride was a plus in our book
@@amigajoe I bought a VW ID.4 in December. The Ioniq 5 wasn't out yet. I like the VW.
@@bassistdc I think the Id.4 is the best looking EV out there. I do like the ionic five’s retro looks, but otherwise I love the lines of the ID four better than everything else, including this new blazer. I placed a reservation for an id.4 in November of last year and just canceled it a few weeks ago. I like tech a lot, and being a former model three owner, the infotainment and small screen in the id4 just didn’t cut it for me.
So for us it will be an ionic 5 Rear Wheel Dr. limited trim to gets all the tech, or a blazer RS. Hoping I can convince my wife to wait for the blazer as I really want SuperCruise. And I like the fact that it’s a bit bigger. But not sure if we can wait a year plus.
Just when they were about to show the cargo area they walked away. That’s one thing I wanted to see.
👏 Surprisingly impressive vehicle! Good job, GM... 😏
As someone who has a deposit on an SS, I sure wish the presenter would have gotten some more detail about nearly the only OPENING moonroof in the entire EV industry . That was a missed moment for sure.and info that had yet to be shared anywhere else. It appears to open in a unique way as well. Missed opportunity for sure.
The Kia EV6 GtLine and the Hyundai Ionia 6 sedan both have moonroofs that open. This is important to me too and I’m happy the Blazer will have one available too. My problem all of these cars are about $10k more than I want to spend but inflation I guess?
@@marcalvarado1915 The EV6 and Ioniq 6 don't have panoramic roofs though...
@@OlJackBurton I would gladly trade a roof that can open and let in fresh air over a panoramic roof. There are lots of evs with glass roofs and only a few with roofs that actually open.
@@marcalvarado1915 The Blazer has a panoramic roof that opens. So you can have both...
Chevrolet gets credit for not calling this EV a Camaro.
A Camaro SS-E...
If they make it a convertible, they can call it whatever they want.
The front end looks like a beefed up Camry 2021), glad it doesn't imitate the Lyriq.
Would like to see how it compares to the competition.
It actually looks pretty nice, wish the range was a little better. My biggest complaint is these are being made in Mexico 👎. GM is lobbying congress to expand EV tax credits that the American tax payers will cover and at the same time spitting in the face of American auto manufacturing labor.
I'm like 99.99% sure this is a platform twin with the Cadillac Lyriq which is built in Spring Hill, TN. If so, this will be built at that same plant in TN. This Blazer EV doesn't share anything with the ICE Blazer that is made in Mexico which is where I presume you got that idea from.
@@sipher3516 nope. Autoline already stated this Blazer EV will be assembled in Mexico.
Don't put a motor on a door you will be "constantly" interacting with. Sure it saves zero time from doing it your self and looks cool but eventually that motor will break. A hinge is just as good albeit not as flashy but less chanve of breaking or wearing out.
Tell that to someone that buys an electric car.
I have power soft close doors on my 12 year old 750Li and they have never missed a beat
Did they mention the HP for the awd RS models ?
The only way Chevy will lose my $ is if the dealerships f-- it up.
I wish Chevy would use “direct to customer sales” for their EV lineup.
I wonder when GM will release all the specs
2:41. GM is so weird. Perfect chance to put Caddy style vertical LED there .
Looks like a natural thing there, unlike Cadillac, where it looks forced.
When will the SS be available?
Wait until you find out the "Ultium" pouch batteries last about 1/3 as long as cylindrical cells. GM will fail by betting on the cheaper battery.
It’s too bad you didn’t ask them why the hell they didn’t make it look like a K5. Somebody needs to do that.
It's kinda like a camaro/ corvette suv in the SS trim.
65K starting SS..lmfao. It's still a Chevy. How can it nearly double in price from 1LT to SS?
I feel like a trim level could have been named literally anything other than SS. Then again I know nothing about chevys naming convention
Is the RS all wheel drive two motors or one? And why does no one ask the horsepower of the RS. Drives me insane. Not one person asks the numbers on the other models
No way the SS with 22’s gets 290 miles of range with that aggressive front end.
Why not? It has a huge 100kWh battery.
@@bahamatodd Missed that tidbit. Maybe it will.
Is it just me or are EV's boring already?
It's just u
Sheesh, their Marketing-Speak is getting so silly and doesn’t sound authentic: “So walking you through the technology journey on the Blazer…” or “The lighting really celebrates the design of…” 🙄
When's this going to be available?
What's the hp for the other variants? I only hear the hp for the ss.
what is the towing capacity of the rs?
Hopefully they dont put in the same crappy ass battery elec control modules like in the gen 2 volts that fail all the time! Add $10,000 to those price specs!
The battery pack determined the wheelbase? Seriously? That's a recipe for disaster.
How much cargo space
Not sure why anyone will pick Blazer SS over Lyriq AWD at the same price
Did he mention the EV miles with RS all wheel drive?
whats teh price for this
