The Chevy Blazer has become a full EV, and for the first time ever there is a full electric SS version! We had a chance to check out the new 2024 Blazer EV SS out in California, along with some members of the Chevy Engineering, Design and Technology teams. Built on the modular Ultium platform, the Blazer EV will come in several trims, from 1LT, 2LT, RS to SS and there will even be a Police Pursuit Vehicle iteration. In top SS spec, the Blazer EV makes 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque, 0-60 in under 4 seconds with Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode, AWD and still provides just under 300 miles of range! The interior on the Blazer is also quite nice, featuring a large 17.7in infotainment screen, really nice material and texture contrasts and plenty of technology. That interior is really awesome, modern without being gaudy. This is the first EV I could actually see myself driving.

@CloudStreets That's prob a great thing seeing as Tesla's are so poorly assembled that they have consistently been the most unreliable brand you can buy outdoing Chevy, Chrysler, Ford and Nissan by a country mile... That's quite an achievement honestly.

After seeing the Cadillac Lyriq’s front fascia nothing had come close to it in my opinion but damn that rear end looks fantastic. The interior looks both high tech _and_ luxurious. This is technically the first EV from Chevrolet’s performance division with the _SS_ moniker so I expected nothing less. Interior looks very premium and high quality. Riding on the Cadillac Lyriq’s platform it should ride and drive even better than it looks! Rear taillights are elegant, Silverado EV’s taillights have a similarly upscale character.
The Lyriq would’ve been great if they didn’t make the rear so hideous. This one is perfect from front to back.
@@BengalTiger47 I think the Lyriq’s rear and design is what separates Cadillac’s unique design language from the rest of the pack. These days Audi, BMW, Lexus, Lincoln, Porsche etc. all have a horizontal LED bar that stretches from end to end on the rear and on the front. There is no mistaking a Cadillac EV from the front or the rear when you’re behind one, and in a good way. That says something about their designers. It’s not for everyone but certainly looks good and stands apart.

Ford only had Tesla cars to copy from, hence the spartan interior. Newer EVs in that segment are adding more unique designs to spice up their offerings.

I just leased a Blazer RS and that thing is fuckin beautiful. Drives beautifully. Part of the reason i got into it was becausei saw the EV coming in a few years.. also blew me away. Never thought id be in a chevy but glad i did.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada the chevy blazer ev starts @$52000 for the 1LT with 400 kms per charge
Really an amazing SUV . Cancelled my Model Y which I was only lukewarm to being with. I can make it another year or so easily for this. WOW.
Good decision. This will offer much better value than the Model Y Performance, which Tesla is charging almost $80k for now.
My only gripe is that the rear windshield wiper blade should have been underneath the rear spoiler for a cleaner look.

A big reason for SUVs is cargo space. Not one reviewer in the dozens of videos has bothered to bring a tape measure!
I have a "miniature" of all of that on my Bolt EUV, I'm very pleased with my little car.

Very similar size, and specs, Lyriq tuned for luxury, and has luxury features, Blazer EV tuned for more performance.
Any security features like recording surround cameras when parked?
You want this vehicle, all you need is around 60-70 thousand dollars and it is yours. Who knows what the greedy dealerships will do with the pricings.
This blazer ss I love it ,there are suv EVs in trouble tho , number 1 mach E number 2 because the 557 hp and 648 pf the bmw ix xdrive 50, and number 3 a GM suv ev as well the cadillac lyriq number 4 Kia ev6 and more this is a game changer just watch ⌚ you see 👀!!!!
Dear Amy McDonald. Everything is Wonderful! But please tell us what music and what navigation apps we can use. Can I still play my Apple Music or Amazon Music? And can I still ask Seri or Alexa to Navigate to our friends house or navigate home? Theses are things that are very important to most all of us. New is great but don’t throw out the things we already know and love. Thanks!
Why did they discontinue the cargo rails in the back? My 2019 Blazer has them and l find them very useful with the accessory tie down rings that move along the track.

SS model has everything standard, tires, and colors only options. SS is basically fully loaded, which is why its priced where it is.

@EddieX: You know what's the Horse Power for the 2024 Blazer EV RS is ? Is it the same as the Blazer EV SS ? Have a good one.
On the Blazer EV do you have electric seats on the passenger front seat. Did you also add a airline table to be pulled out so they can use their computer. Did you also add in three cup holders all cars should have 3 cup holders. Is there a CD player also with it.

4:43 that automatic lift gate seems terribad. So it works by not opening when you stand in front of it for 5 secs? How is that better than pushing a button.

I love my 21 Blazer RS but could love this more, NO videos show what's under the hood, frustrating to say the least.
Currently driving a 2020 Blazer RS. Fantastic vehicle. I'm planning on ordering a 2025 Blazer EV SS. Not sure about the "auto open" hatch. If you are in a parking garage at night, I don't see this as a good feature. I walk behind my Blazer quite often, but without needing to open the hatch. On the other hand I might have totally misunderstood the feature.

I believe you need to be close to the hatch for a period of time before it opens

@@tonywong303 Powertrain and battery yes, suspension not known yet. Lyriq has 5 link front and back, Blazer usually has strut suspension, so we have to wait for more details, since none of these media guys rolled under for a look.

Looks really good, but dang in the future cars might get boring, all have the same 0-60 time because they will all be electric etc, heck a rivian 0-60 is in 3 seconds

At 70,000 miles Chevy battery back needed to be replaced cost 29,890$ not covered under warranty,,
This will come with an 8yr/100k mile warranty on the battery.

Beautiful vehicle! I'm a big fan of Chevy, but they seem to be putting all their concentration on the "EV" model vehicles. How do they have all these great features for the 2024 EV blazer, but skip all of these features for the 2023 regular blazer? They don't even have updates for the regular 2023 blazer.
That’s because they are still trying to figure out how to release these updates as a subscription product

I love the red interior - but - Chevy did this thing back in the 90's where the vehicle color was burgundy and the interior was tomato red. It was the most atrocious color combo I have ever seen in a car. Sadly, this is starting to look similar. Red interiors only work when they are slightly darker - and they really shouldn't be available with bright red exteriors. Matching the two is difficult and any deviations in color just make them look weird. Interesting car - can't wait to see it in person - and in other color combos.

Well, a RWD Blazer model (I assumed GM would save this for Cadillac and the pickups EV models), offering the Blazer EV as a FWD, RWD, and AWD models and 3-different battery pack sizes, clearly, Chevy / GM are betting big on EVs, so, GM has 3-different EV motors (a powerful 255 kW EV motor for FWD, RWD or AWD positions, a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position, and a 62-kW EV motor for FWD/RWD/AWD assist motor, knowing the available EV motors, note, the GMC HUMMER EV pickup launch edition uses three 255 kW EV motors, 1-front and 2-at the rear, anyway), the Blazer SS EV is offered as an AWD model only guessing it offers a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position and a powerful 255 kW EV motor for a rear position, thus giving you that AWD capacity or basically the Cadillac Lyriq Luxury AWD model setup, now the base FWD only 1LT (guessing that’s a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position motor), the LT2 (guessing the same as the 1LT FWD, but the AWD version will most likely get a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position motor and a 62-kW EV motor for RWD assist motor for AWD), next the RS trim FWD (guessing that’s a powerful 255 kW EV FWD position motor), RS trim RWD (same as RWD Cadillac Lyriq a powerful 255 kW EV RWD position motor), the RS AWD trim is the interesting one (Chevy has several options, but I’m guessing a 62-kW EV motor for FWD assist motor and a powerful 255 kW EV RWD position motor for AWD or maybe some other combination, it feels like the the RS AWD will be the model to get if you don’t need or want the SS) and of course, the SS, which I already talked about, side note, did anyone notice Chevy / GM showed all available trims of the Blazer EV outside of maybe a ZL1 version, but to date the Cadillac Lyriq has only shown the Luxury trim RWD and AWD versions, could this be because Cadillac / GM want the halo/flagship upcoming Cadillac Celestiq to be shown first with these features and tech, I’m starting to think the Celestiq could be the first four-motor EV from GM, I was assuming it would be the Corvette EV, clearly they want Celestiq features/tech to trickle down to other Cadillac EV models, but the price you are hearing means it will have to come with the goods

As much as I love that companies are finally making attractive EVs, Elon Musk (before he became a real life lex luthor) was offering the skateboard platform (the same thing that other companies are mimicking now) but legacy automakers just said no because "people don't want electric cars". We should have been here about a decade ago
@B.L.A. and unfortunately they succeeded, especially in America. The gas stations should have hopped on instead of fight, and the car companies should have took Elon on his offer instead of wasting time and money on R&D Tesla already did

But what if my phone is dropped in water, stolen, broken? I guess my car is nothing more than a giant paper weight hold down the pavement underneath.

Blazer will have a power sunshade, standard on SS, optional on other models.
The SS is too much money for me. I wish the RS looks a bit more aggressive.
In my opinion rav 4 prime is a better and more reliable option
Three design flaws:
1. Ugly rear wiper should have been hidden under the spoiler
2. Ugly and not aerodynamic handles should have been flush type
3. Dead space under the center console should have been floating type for placing purses
4. No push button start

car makers have become so lazy and cheap but some how every thing is costing more, like just slap some screens on the dash same in every vehicle, charge monthly on top of your large purchase so you can use it, same modular platform for every model, same interiors. Feels like there literally trying to rob every one.

They really butchered the Blazers Legacy. They should’ve went for a model that can compete with the Bronco or the Wrangler. It could’ve been great.
The Blazer EV is too loong to park with ease in cities. The Chevy Bolt EV is 19” shorter and perfect for tight parking spaces.
The blazer has been screwed since its first redesign. Until they make it compete with the explorer again, it's trash .
I really wanted to like this thing, but I think it's kinda ugly.... The equinox wears the new Chevy design language much better in my opinion

@@EddieX On the Chevy Bolt, the upper lights on the hatch were actually the running lights, and the brake lights were designed to appear like the running lights and were on the fixed part of the bumper. This is due to a strange US lighting regulation that the brake and turn signals can't be part of the moving hatch.

Car is nice. But the price needs to come down. $44 k you can get a kia or Nissan Airya for that price withb300 mile range. Dis appointed that for last 2 years chevy has been saying affordable in the $30k range.
