No not really.. you mean they need to catch up to Tesla.. that's not what tesla is about... even with all that gimmicky stuff other brands are doing.. nothing can come close to the network, minimalism , tech, and network. Sustainability is what their focus is on. Not something that is cool now to be later outdated in a couple of years like these other brands
Tesla is a tech company. And one of the reasons they're smashing everybody else but Lucid at battery range is partly because of the way the design is. Yes its not aggressive, but it is supremely aerodynamically efficient
The competition is getting tougher in the electric SUV segment. Let's be honest, this is one of the best electric SUVs so far. If it is sold in Asia, such as Indonesia, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and Arab countries, it will sell well.
A $65k Chevy Blazer. It doesn’t seem to even register anymore that vehicles have gotten grotesquely expensive. Does everyone make so much money now that a purchase like this is reasonable? I have a decent job, but I can’t afford this thing. Not even close.
This for SS though.. base starts at 45k.. but a brand new luxury and or performance car will run you 60k+ 550+ hp and over 600 ft torque.. thats crazy for the price. Compared to the Mach E GT, 450 hp 600 ft same price.. and it's smaller.. blah
The good thing about gas stations is they aren't proprietary. We need a charging standard. I can see charging stations looking more like multi-level parking garages with lounges and places to eat.
They have to make these suv/crossover’s to fund the production of sports cars and less mass produced cars that won’t make them as much money. Unfortunate but that’s how it works sadly
2dr sports coupes sell about 250-300k total unit's here in the U.S. each year across all model line's. Suvs meanwhile are 10-15x that volume. So you can imagine why they don't really exist nowadays. Wait a few for the upcoming ev Porsche boxter/cayman twins, and lotus has a smaller 2dr ev coming out around 2025 they claim will weigh within 100# of an emira. That might drive some sales. And mg has the cyberster green lighted for production as well. No idea where they'll sell it or how much it'll cost though. 🤔
There is no possible way this is a Tesla killer, that statement has been said for a decade and never happens. Tesla is too far ahead in every aspect to be caught up to.
It's called click bait. That said...Tesla is very quickly going to be caught up to, in terms of technology, functionality, performance, and price. I admire Tesla for what they've done. But to think they will own the EV segment and that they will always be superior due to them being in the market first, is just simply wrong. What WILL take a while to catch, is the Tesla popularity, and the actual number of EVs on the road.
IDK The material they used is a very scratchy material. I am more happy with the boring plastic tesla design at least that doesn't scratches soo easily
It’s range, 0 to 60, and charging speed is not class leading at all for the price. With a 65k msrp with 6-10k dealer markups and no tax credits available its not affordable . I’m not sure we’ll see many of these on the road. Also I’m not sure how many GM can make with in the current supply chain climate. They are most definitely losing money on every car they make get ready to bail them out again at the us taxpayers expense. I appreciate the competition with design it looks great but logistics matter when they are making these promises to the public. By 2024 it will have lost its luster as something new shiny while Kia/Hyundai, VW, ford, and tesla who are already ahead in terms of specs set the bar higher.
interesting to see someone who understands the logistics of all this... well said. this is just marketing for gm. just as ford recently threw up their hands and admitted the mach e is no longer profitable, this will not be a Tesla killer.
Definitely not affordable. Dealers can play the markup game all they want, but I won't pay a cent over msrp. If that means I can't buy a new car, then so be it.

Well, a RWD Blazer model (I assumed GM would save this for Cadillac and the pickups EV models), offering the Blazer EV as a FWD, RWD, and AWD models and 3-different battery pack sizes, clearly, Chevy / GM are betting big on EVs, so, GM has 3-different EV motors (a powerful 255 kW EV motor for FWD, RWD or AWD positions, a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position, and a 62-kW EV motor for FWD/RWD/AWD assist motor, knowing the available EV motors, note, the GMC HUMMER EV pickup launch edition uses three 255 kW EV motors, 1-front and 2-at the rear, anyway), the Blazer SS EV is offered as an AWD model only guessing it offers a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position and a powerful 255 kW EV motor for a rear position, thus giving you that AWD capacity or basically the Cadillac Lyriq Luxury AWD model setup, now the base FWD only 1LT (guessing that’s a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position motor), the LT2 (guessing the same as the 1LT FWD, but the AWD version will most likely get a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position motor and a 62-kW EV motor for RWD assist motor for AWD), next the RS trim FWD (guessing that’s a powerful 255 kW EV FWD position motor), RS trim RWD (same as RWD Cadillac Lyriq a powerful 255 kW EV RWD position motor), the RS AWD trim is the interesting one (Chevy has several options, but I’m guessing a 62-kW EV motor for FWD assist motor and a powerful 255 kW EV RWD position motor for AWD or maybe some other combination, it feels like the the RS AWD will be the model to get if you don’t need or want the SS) and of course, the SS, which I already talked about, side note, did anyone notice Chevy / GM showed all available trims of the Blazer EV outside of maybe a ZL1 version, but to date the Cadillac Lyriq has only shown the Luxury trim RWD and AWD versions, could this be because Cadillac / GM want the halo/flagship upcoming Cadillac Celestiq to be shown first with these features and tech, I’m starting to think the Celestiq could be the first four-motor EV from GM, I was assuming it would be the Corvette EV, clearly they want Celestiq features/tech to trickle down to other Cadillac EV models, but the price you are hearing means it will have to come with the goods

NOPE, made in MEXICO . no thank you.
Likewise dude! Was really impressed by the car honestly
One of the most beautiful ev i ever seen
I want a RWD RS. Enjoyed the Chevy reps too. The trunk opening thing seemed strange to me. A lot of time I walk past the back of my car and don't want it to open. Or if I'm standing next to it and close the garage door will it see the garage door coming close and open into it?
Yeah that's what I was thinking. This is an overkill and maybe an issue. The kick, if it works, should suffice.
he was waiting for that back door to close on him lol
When it comes to design, Tesla better start stepping it up.
You need to quit your job and work for yourself to see the true value of your worth ⚡️💰☀️💯🏡🤔
Lots of people buying these cars finance for 7 or 8 years.
Love the SS Blazer but just like I asked Tesla and Ford. Where are your two door sports cars? Not everyone wants to buy a family 4 door vehicle.
They have to make these suv/crossover’s to fund the production of sports cars and less mass produced cars that won’t make them as much money. Unfortunate but that’s how it works sadly
@@thoughtprovoked8030 😩 this sucks. Guess the waiting game begins.
GM did a great job with this. Thanks to dealerships and they greediness this will be unaffordable for most buyers.
🚗 cars and suv's keep going up every year
Vehicle Virgins Awesome Video I think the All new Chevy blazer SS EV is Absolutely Incredible and I think the Interior looks absolutely incredible
Front is a mix of Audi, Lamo Urus, Mercedes✊🏻 Looks Nice tho
👊 This could be my favourite US EV... I hope it drives as well as it looks... Great content 👍
NOPE , the BLAZER bev is made in MEXICO.
Yep like the other Tesla killer, it’s made in Mexico
320 miles of range sounds quite promising.
Your matching the SUV very well !👨🚒
The next Tesla killer… 😂
How many times have I heard that.
@@bcar1ify from 2yrs ago to 2030
I lost the interest in the brand anyway. The recent events didn't help. I was a fan since the beginning. It's a good thing to see new EV's coming out.
Yeah I don't know about "killer" but it might be pretty close especially if the hands free works as well as tesla autopilot
Lucid already killed Tesla.. are it and spit it back out Teslas interiors are plastic junk
Are they still using LG chem batteries in the battery packs? 👀👀👀
Low key Tesla got some competition coming…
said everyone for the past decade
HAHAHA In your dream only
Competition dosnt always beat you… but definitely going to be a lot more options to choose from
Hi what's charging duration of this suv blazer?
I’m actually impressed with the interior
Most EV interiors are basic so the bar is low.
IDK The material they used is a very scratchy material.
I am more happy with the boring plastic tesla design at least that doesn't scratches soo easily
I would buy this👍
Why is every new car from legacy automaker a Tesla killer? GM sold 1200 EV in us in first quarter. Hardly competition to Tesla
Shout out to the design team. They did excellent job on this one. It’s good that Chevrolet stopped collaborating with Opel/Vauxhall.
@@Togged Ford CEO Jim Farley wants to eliminate dealerships and move to all online sales, effectively turning existing dealerships into service stations only.
Please, there are no Tesla Killer! Only competitors. And if they cant make them in high volume its more likely that GM gets killed by trying to catch up.

As tested=$97,999

Am I the only one to notice that this car’s rear seat shows little support under the knee AND when the guy (not particularly tall) leans back (which I suspect was accidental) his head is surprisingly close to the roof.
This feels like,he was fed questions and answers to draw attention away from a vehicle which is behind the times.
Most small cuvs are like that in the rear seat
I'd drive this over a Tesla any day. Looks absolutely stunningly good inside and out. Home run GM !

I love that you called ahead to ask them what color scheme the car is so you can match your outfit. Supes cute. I like the Blazer EV SS...but...I wouldn't call it a Tesla killer. It's the same price as a Model Y Performance, but is slower, has less range, and less tech (no Netflix, Disney+, video game console, etc)...and it won't be available for another 2 years or more. In 2 years, the Model Y will have even better specs than what is available now. So great car, but no Tesla killer for sure.

lol.. you can order now..deliveries start next fall
@@electric-rideshare So 1 year away then. Model Y has been out since 2020, so even a 2 year old car has better specs than a car you can order now and delivered next year. That's not a dig at Chevy. I like the Blazer EV, but I'm just stating the facts, and it's no "Tesla killer".
@@BecauseTesla looking at your screen name, of course you will be biased towards Tesla no matter what. “The Blazer doesn’t have Netflix, Disney plus and no video games”. Do you actually think these are deal breakers? You sound like a 12 yr old. Step out of your fanboy mode for once and just accept the fact that mainstream manufacturers are catching up fast. Yes the Tesla is faster, for now that is. But speed isn’t everything.
@@SkippyPB. yes I’m a Tesla fanboy! I wasn’t until I owned one. What is your problem with my comments? I’m not hating on the Blazer in any way. I’m just stating that the channel called it a Tesla killer, and it is not. I stated several reasons why it is not a Tesla killer. Why does that trigger you? If Chevy releases something equally as good, then great, they’re equal. But in order to be called a “killer”, the specs would have to far exceed the Teslas. They do not. Am I lying? If so, where is the lie? So let the Car people talk about cars, and whenever the topic of peanut butter comes up, you can feel free to contribute.

Hope You are wrong about putting bigger motor in front.........65% rear/35% front would be perfect and what most intelligent Engineers would plan for...............Paul
I own a 2020 Blazer RS with 20k on it. SUPER tempting to trade it in and buy one lol.
Idk. I don’t think I’m paying $65k for it. It’s nice tho!

We have to ask this as a consumer. How long are the battery lives of these vehicles, how much would it cost to replace the batteries out of pocket, and why are they making these EV's unaffordable? $65k for the Blazer SS EV and let's say the battery will last for 5-10 years. How much more will someone have to dish out? That's besides all the other stuff that consumers would be responsible for.
Considering the battery has an 8 year 100k mile warranty I think its safe to say they expect it to last much longer than that.
