Thanks for touching on this topic. Completely echo your thoughts. Nowadays there's trend wherein people are doing a Dubai trip to purchase iPhone at low prices. If you can do it for a phone then why not for a helmet. On a side note, if you can probably shoot a video with any of your close friends who run a riding gear shop, it will help clear all the confusion surrounding this matter.
I wear helmet even I have to ride very locally. Due to this practice, one day I was on my bike and had accident with baleno (speed around 40 kmph) and was completely safe. Due to helmet, I am alive today. During highway rides (even while going to office), I use knee and elbow guards along with helmet.

You have not mentioned this. Atm i am using a Axor helmet with APEX DOT & ECE certifications. I am planning to buy the updated Kawasaki Z900 soon. Vikas Sir what I noticed in a video of the kid was that maybe he was probably using an oversized helmet with thicker padding. The lack of a racing spec helmet for a 13 year olds head size could have contributed to this move. What are your thoughts? Could this be true?

I was searching for a new helmet to replace my 6 year old THH and noticed that the domestically available helmets are really disappointing if you want a HIGH QUALITY helmet. Cheap ABS plastic shell helmets are being marketed as "Carbon Fiber" by some popular Indian brands, just to upsell an average commuter helmet - they mention the shell material as ABS/thermoplastic/polycarbonate on the product descriptions of their cheaper helmets but these "carbon fiber" looking helmets have no mention of the shell material in the product description section. Companies are putting "Carbon/Carbon Fiber" in the product name and trying to trick people. It's not economically possible to sell a Carbon Fiber helmet in the 10k range. Don't fall for deceptive marketing folks.

Unfortunately yes, if the police stop us in the city. But, Highway should be fine. For city rides, just use a Rs 5,000 helmet. Thanks brother.
