Hello PDArmy! Which was the funniest thing you've heard about helmets? Tell us in the comments!
₹150 bachta hai😎
They: "Array, helmet kyu? Idhar police nahi pakadta hai."
I: 😖
Helmet lagane se mere baal kharab ho jayege 😵😵😵
I am just going a couple of kilometres, nothing will happen in such a short distance....
I still struggle to find any sense in the above statement 🤔
I have a friend who uses a MT on his RC , but uses a small Vega on his scooters. When I asked him why? He said... " The big size of the Mt looks awkward on scooters" .
I was like bro, really? 😒
great line by shumi: If you are lucky you will just die, if you are unlucky you will be a vegetable. It can be T shirt line with Helmet Logo
Thanks, Shankar, we hope more people see the point.
Thanks for the idea Mate.
Yeah!!
That is something that I always say to my friends🤣
Things that I've done while watching podcast
1. Wear my helmet and checked fit according to shumi
2. Tighten my buckles cause I never done that
3.cleaned my visor cause it was pretty dirty
And realised that it's high time to gift myself a new helmet .
Thanks powerdrift and we need such content other than reviews .
That's really good, you're a hero, Manthan!
@SAHIL THAKUR ya I've shortlisted it and I am also going check SMK TWISTER
@SAHIL THAKUR yaa I will look for them as well thanks bro
@@manthanrashinkar5537 I have the SMK Twister Logo. If you need any insight on that then please let me know.
Those 3 points are The basics of Helmet... But Indian's Never give Importance To these Basic Things for Daily use.. so I can't say anything... i m using The same thing from Last 2 Years...even before That Video came... There are almost More than 5 Types of Helmets available more different Riding Purpose...But People's in India Mostly Confused about that and Only Buy LOOKER Helmet ;P to do ShowOff.... even i saw a People's using Motocross Helmets on R15 V3 and ktm's ;P
My goodness..
Mr. Shumi just explained everything like a physicist and a physician at the same time.. 👍👌
Hahaha, that's a nice way to put it!
Schumi is like Dr Asthana of Munna bhai MBBS, he is the Dean with the humor😁
Please never worry about making too long a podcasts! The sheer knowledge and experience gained from listening to your podcasts has changed the way I ride, it has made me a better rider and I haven't jumped a single red light since I've been listening to your podcast Torque the Talk.
You guys are the best ❤️
Oh wow! Your comment made our day :)
@@powerdriftofficial And your videos make ours! #pdarmy
Agreed completely.. we don't look at the time when we see powerdrift podcast.. many will agree when shumi is on podcast it's like Sir aap bolte raho, hum suntey rahenge
Gods of Knowledge 👍
Hey, thank you so much BuluBiker! So glad to see you here! :D
Yes bhai... Great lesson to learn... From such experts.
This is the best powerdrift video that I ever saw .
Shumi sir
Yes you are god of knowledge as bulu sir said
Here comes Bullya. 😋😋
And Bulluai in our native place
+ never buy helmets from online . Go-to shop , wear it and buy
That's the best way!
Two of the best things that have happened to PowerDrift are:
1. Shumi coming along
2. Launching a podcast
And we shall more of both! :D
One of the Bert Podcasts on RUclips right now!!! thanks a lot Shumi Sir :) and PD you guys are epic to get such awesome people on the platform.
After this podcast i think I'll have to get a helmet for my helmet
Guys please make a list of safest helmets in all ranges like under 10k, 10k-20k, 20-30k, 30+ etc.
Hey ,late comment but still I'll try
So as a price range these are good companies but the specific helmet is left to you
Below 10k is mt helmets (aspida .com)
10k to 50k is agv predominantly and basic shoei I guess 50k and above are shoei and arai
@@samkul1699 will have to disagree, 15-30k is where most of the good brands are having many good helmets. HJC, Scorpion, Bell etc have really good helmets in this range. AGV has okay helmets in less than 25k range. I'm using AGV K3 Sv and it's okay at best, most low priced Agv helmets just look good.
5k as well?
@@cinemasantha2019 Below 5k you have very few options. MT, LS2 and SOL have some good ones in this range. I personally prefer the feel of MT more. They're all ECE certified too.
@@pragyansaurav axor helmets?
This was a gem of a video. I am sharing this with friends, hope some of them will appreciate the importance of fitting and certifications(and watch the entire video :P).
Oh yeah! You the MVP, Kaushik!
Hello I am a doc and i am happy how Mr. Shumi integrated the concepts of medicine into the importance of helmets and he is damn correct ...trust me i have seen hundreds of cases of broken bones and cracked opened skull, lives become miserable not just the person's but also his family's.
joiaaiaxom
Please make content like this powerdrift☺️
Absolutely useful...
We will, thanks for the support, Mithun.
Using HJC fg st since a year. Friends mocked me for spending so much on a helmet but i know it's worth. Safety always comes first. Great informative podcast guys. Make more of such podcasts 🤩
Amen, Varun! We wish you safe rides!
And, we shall definitely have more podcasts!
@@powerdriftofficial is it allowed to used ECE or DOT certified helmets in India which don't have ISI ?
I came to know that ECE & DOT are superior than ISI, but what should I do when I caught by police that I'm not wearing ISI helmet. I need a bit clarification 🙏
Lovely video... Much needed content.. learned few things about dropping the helmet and certifications
Now this is the type of content that needs sharing. Loved it.
It literally is in public interest.
God Bless you all.
Thank you comrade!
Shumi's explanation of 'G's.. I will prefer a car always... 😂😂😂
If u go for car don't for to click the seat belt.
You're on the wrong video
I was regretting for some time that my Axor helmet was a tight fit and it was squeezing my cheeks but after seeing I think I made a right decision
That's really good!
Exactly the same with me. I am so glad right now that I got Axor helmet.
which size m or l
@@saikatchakraborty4473 I am using M bro. You can check my channel for the video if you are interested.
@@VineetTiwariRUclips bro go for snell certification.... HJC cl 17 pribably the cheapest snell certified helmet out there all this axis MT are justbfor good graphics
The more the length of the podcast, more the merry. Absolutely loving it.
Well done guys! A much needed content! Very informative! Thnx!👍🏼
I cannot be more grateful.
Thank you powerdrift for this.
It's our pleasure Rakesh! :D
Shumi sir talking about the helmets in this podcast and I am sitting like a true disciple hearing and watching every single word coming out from him. This man is a juggernaut!!
Idk how but I didn't get bored at all while listening both of them talk for 24 mins straight. Now I know why I keep on rewatching the same old review videos of powerdrift, it's coz you guys are awesome :D
I love how shumi explains things!
Man that's savage 😂
Crisp and to the point! ;)
Thank you! This podcast has really been informative! I had blindly used stickers on my helmet, never knew it made such a huge impact! Even the information about the certification is really helpful! Thank you once again!
Glad you liked it, Aashirward. Do share this useful information with your friends. Ride safe! :)
You just changed my mind about expensive helmet !!! Really informative ! 🔥👍
Better late than never, mate!
Hey guys thank you so much! This content really helps me! 🙏🏼
Thanks Shumi! Insightful & helpful as always.
Any recommendations for a beginner track helmet?I went through a lot of documentation and saw that most budget manufacturers who provide d ring with their helmets are not approved by fmsci and also mandates at least a fiber glass shell.Any helmet under 10k to start track ridding?
Massive Respect for shumi....i hv never seen anyone explaining helmets so good
Very informative stuff! Looking forward to more podcasts from you guys!
Thanks, Anirudh. What should we discuss next?
Can someone tell about Smk , Axor , Mt helmets? Are they safe?
Great podcast guys...my helmet is ICICI safe🤣🤣🤣
Haha! Ride safe, buddy!
Shumi is right about the 'G'. I recently had a training session in my company for defensive riding and they said the same thing about the G.
Always remember if you're not wearing a helmet ' IF YOU ARE LUCKY U WILL DIE IF U R UNLUCKY U BECOME A VEGETABLE'😂😂😂
QUOTE BY SHUMI
Can you please explain the force thing a little bit more?
The two legends, though Shumi is like a BOSS and Varun(I love him a lot) has a lot to learn(in a positive way).
You guys rock, hope to meet you both in person some day.
Good Luck to you two
Cant buy arai as it is too heavy for me, i have a neck problem need some light helmet...any suggestions?
Much needed podcast. Brilliantly handled. Looking forward to more content !
Thanks, Raunak! What should we discuss next?
@@powerdriftofficial Indian riders are unaware of the drawbacks of constant wind and engine noise. We would love to see a video on the same !
Virtually did a PhD in helmet. Thanks guys
I have a question about my helmet which is I had met with an accident five months ago so i have to change my helmet or I can continue with it ? @powerdrift
If the helmet was hit, the best bet would be to replace it. Even if there is no visible damage.
Super fantastic video PD , absolutely great info and I have lot of takeaway from this video. Lengthy video but not a single moment I felt boring. Keep up the good work 👍👍
And i used to think that the cheek pads are removable so that it can be washed
This video was one the most informative video I have ever seen. Thankyou so much
Some helmets have emergency release straps for the pads. This helps the rescue personal safely take off the helmet.
This is system is not meant to be used to remove the pads for washing.
What a great piece of work! Commendable job guys!!✌️
Thanks, bud. Do share the video with your friends!
Late but never, it's good to know what I bought and how far it will go also came to know how to retire it and buy new one. I've less expensive helmet from Axor but both certification is there. Realy good podcasts I've found on PowerDrift.
Keep sharing and teaching us with such a useful lessons.
Great video guys! Very informative!
amazing informative video and perfect duo of experience and youth!!!
plzz make more like this on how to ride safely on roads how to avoid blank spots and pot holes and also how to prepare for long distance riding....
Just buying my first proper helmet (had a vega cause I was in college and I had a Dio so all I could afford), but now I’ve bought a CB300R and so it’s time for the proper equipment. This was very helpful, thanks guys.
the way shumi got his sarcasm rolling was too good, enjoyed the video, please make more...
Haha! He has his way with the words!
We do have plans for more podcasts, do stay tuned!
I loved the contents n information that u guys provide. Thank you guys
Hi i tried the agv k1 and airoh valor both fit me perfect according to your guidelines but cannot decide which one to go for can you help me out
Much needed a podcast ❤️
Thanks, what should we discuss next in the podcast?
@@powerdriftofficial when the topic has come down to choosing the right helmet, i think the next video should present topics like ethical riding and about choosing the right riding gear for a biker which would focus more on beginners. If this seems to create a monotony in the taste of videos, we should go for topics like conduct and brotherhood related in biker community or fun topics like why should we take part in rallies and stuff like that. Since podcasts are usually done on topics of certain importance, these should be really good. And now it depends on what is more important; choosing great topics as a creator ..or choosing more consumable content for the masses. Honoured that i could give in my little bit towards the team❤️ #pdarmy
@@powerdriftofficial" e bikes should we convert or wait until they outperforms petrol ones"
Never knew helmets were this complicated! Great episode! 😁
A must needed podcast!
I had issues with my previous helmet as I didn't know which one is right helmet for me
Hope this answered all your questions.
God oh God! I was a click away from ordering my helmet online and just came across this fantastic video. I've definitely got to re evaluate my options now!
I know that I'm very late to this video but is it alright to have to go pro mount on the chin bar of your helmet?
19:40 being honest 😂😑
That's cool dude
that "what kind of friend did u riding with?" 😂
most of the time when a helmet falls off on its own, its usually ok unless there is something heavy inside like a head. The shell is not that delicate. its the EPS that you should be worry about
This is a brilliant podcast. It has enough of everything (knowledge , humour , presentation , content ). At no point in time I felt it was a long video.
Amazing
I now know which certifications I can trust , before this I would buy any helmet with xyz certification.
Keep up the good work guys. 👍
Very informative. Just got enough info about helmets. If you could you suggest a good helmet for an average person buying a helmet, which brand should that be regarding safety is of priority.
Watching this in 2021.. Almost an year since this video posted... But it's better late than never..... Awesome podcast...
Thank you for this insight on helmet. I have a question hope you can provide info.
1. I see 2 type of helmet on table, one with beak (ADV) and other pure sport. Which helmet is best for which type of bikes?
Learnt a lot from this discussion, thank you brothers.
Great Video watching it again after 3 years thanks for educating Bikers Community..
More of such Podcast episodes please..! Expecting a video on Racing suits as well! Great job done!👏👏
Thank you, Manoj! Stay tuned for more!
Fantastic explanation.... very good Gyaan on Helmets !!! Thanks !
Great podcast PD ✌️
Any suggestions on how to dispose off the helmet after it completes it's 2/3/5 yrs of life... I mean can it be recycled? Can it be sent back to the manufacturer or can it be disposed off without trashing it?
Use it as a vase to plant saplings ;)
Great Podcast and One of the most important biker topic.Great arena to showcase one of the most experienced biker in country Shumi.Great work Powerdrift.
Thanks, mate. Such kind words keep us motivated.
Very insightful podcast! Great stuff!
Thanks, Neil.
another powerpack pod by PD ! Keep going.
Names of helmet brand used in podcast?
This is an old video, but I was wondering that if applying stickers to helmet is bad, then what about the action camera mounts which we stick to helmets?
Any suggestions for a good fit for guys with specs?
I am using open face/modular helmet from studs just becoz it gives more visibility to sideways.
Are there full face helmet with that much visibility. Please suggest
Thank you powerdrift for the podcast series. it is very useful and informative and most importantly it cleared many of my misconceptions about helmets. Shumi and Vrun are doing a very good job. I'm going to buy a better helmet now than my steelbird sba-1.
Glad to hear this helped you, Naveen! :D
Please make more such educative life saver videos. We need these badly as still there isn't much awareness about these things in our society. I personally learned a lot from this.
Sure mate, a safer riding/driving environment is a dream for all of us.
I bought myself a KTM aftermarket helmet, Tight and great fitting!😊 Not as expensive as ARAI though
I live in a small town with no premium helmet shops and glad that I spent money to travel to Banglore just to get the right fitting helmet and finally ended up buying MT REVENGE 2.
What is your take on modular helmets? which we can open from the chin area. are they really safe? i have scorpion Exo GT 920 which is a modular helmet.
Hello PD
Does the perfect tight fit helmet cause suffocation?
Still one of the best videos for understanding Helmets💯
Very informative and a professional presentation from safety perspective three cheers guys for the concern and educative
Are the HJCs rpha 11 etc are also the exact same used by racers like Lorenzo ? Or is the shell different for them ?
I have a steelbird air sba 2 the one with blue graphics... 😅 does the job for me as I'm a college student... Anyways, I love this video... Thanks @powerdrift 🛵
Tks guys
Now I have a better idea
I thought if the helmet is tight it's bad.
Awesome
Nope, that's never bad. A loose helmet is much worse than a tight one!
that was an eye-opener podcast. It was very informative the way shumi explained it. waiting for more podcasts like this.
Thank you Yogesh! Do hit the Like button and stay tuned!
Insightful. Someone please share the episode 1 link
Can you suggest some points on buying helmet for people who wear specs. The biggest issues I have faced till now is the because of tight fitting the specs rims getting damaged or causing irritation while riding.
Please also tell us where to purchase? In small town there is only steelbird and vegas.
Brilliantly informative as always. What’s your take on installing Comm devices like Sena and Cardo on the helmet? Do you use them? And any inputs for those who do? Thank you.
any links for where we can buy good helmet ?
Loaded with knowledge 👍 I wear an entry level helmet ( MT Thunder ) and my friends were like, its so costly 😂 I gave them exact same reasoning, my head is worth a lot more and I will upgrade to a better one.
Also loved the sarcasm by Shumi, had me in splits 😂
I remember reading an old article by him once in which he said, his gears were costlier than the bike he was riding to.office daily ( some 150cc i guess ), probably for long term review. From that point i realized, gears are more.important. will share with every rider i know. Thanks guys 😁
Appreciated. Thanks
Why did not I watch this before?? More of these, please!!
recently a month back my bike and I experienced a skid had a impact directly on helmet at 60 to 70 kmph on a road.
There are no cracks or visible scratches on the my ninja 3rd generation helmet bought 10 months ago should I use it or buy a new one.
Do have it inspected by an authorised dealer, Vinay. Hard to determine without checking it.
Though it would be a safe bet to replace it.
Great job Shumi, very insightful.
Thank you so much! This is very helpful.
Glad you liked it, Varun. Do share the video with your friends.
your opinion about schubert c3 pro ie over all opinion about the helmet per se and also....can i sticker it up? The helmet manual makes no mention about stickering it up
Which hamlet do you suggest best entry level price
I have an MT, did a lot of research to get the right equipment, ideally just look for the DOT and ECE mark and it’s decent enough I believe
