To be fair though these movies mostly center around a big headed girl though 😂. So when the movie leans more towards the goofy men you’ll see the opposite. But thanks for watching regardless ❤️❤️
My favorite part about Will Smith's Genie was that he didn't try and be Robin Williams. He stayed true to the spirit of the character while making it this own.
Yeah they felt that since Jasmine was one of the Disney princesses that didn’t have a solo in the original they wanted to give her a solo. I thought this live action version was a good take on the story.
THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one who noticed cause I went straight to the comments and no one said anything! His bald jokes all make sense now cause I thought he was exaggerating like when he calls himself ugly 😂
From now on, for each movie commentary, we should drink (water) every time Billy gets someone's name wrong lmao we would never be dehydrated ever again in life lol
I really like that they didn't try to make the genie be exactly the same as he was in the cartoon, because Robin Williams had that one down and it feels untouchable. Will Smith made the role his own, and I love the genie he created as well.
I think it's up there, but I think the live action Cinderella is still the best for me 😂 I also think that the live-action Little Mermaid will be really good, though I do fundamentally disagree with Disney's tendency towards "insert new minority casting here".
I expected to dislike the movie after I saw that trailer showing the first look at Will Smith, but I honestly liked the movie so much. It was honestly such a fun and enjoyable movie, the cast was perfect (with the exception of Jafar) and Will Smith had a unique and great original take on the Genie character.
I was worried about Will Smith in that Robin Williams' performance was/is so iconic, but this is an excellent example of an actor taking the character and making it his own while giving an amazing new performance.
I really liked Will Smith's genie and the changes they gave him, such as being a lot more grounded and pragmatic. Him not expecting Aladdin to ever give him his third wish made him an appropriate amount of skeptical and also focused on him being genuinely concerned for Aladdin's lies and bad road rather than just trying to get his freedom (although he obviously very much deserves it!). I love the original Genie too obviously and that all works perfectly in an animated classic but I think it made sense for a live action they decided to go a little more realistic rather than cartoonish. Also I loved Jasmine's added song and story. This is def my fave of the remakes.
I saw this movie in theaters when it came out and omg when Aladdin started embarrassing himself in front of Jasmine and her father you could feel everyone in the theater getting second hand embarrassment 😂
A lot of people were hating on this movie when it came out because they couldn’t separate Will Smith’s performance as a completely different thing than Robin Williams’, but honestly I loved it as it’s own thing! Having a cast of almost all brown/Black folks in a classic Disney film just made me feel so happy and seen. Also I missed the cat jokes until you pointed them out hahaha.
Creator Backlash: The late Gilbert Gottfried, who famously voiced Iago in the original film and reprised the role in all other Aladdin-related projects, was upset that he wasn't asked to star in the live-action adaptation. This has some sense, considering that James Earl Jones was brought back to reprise his role as Mufasa in The Lion King.
According to writer John August, *Prince Anders was supposed to be one of Prince Hans' brothers,* but Disney vetoed it presumably to avoid complications with an implied Shared Universe as well as to avoid implying that a live-action remake of Frozen was in the works.
Fun fact: The “Have y’all seen my palace?” guy at 19:25 is Jamal Sims who was the choreographer and also the dance double for Will Smith (you can see him in Friend Like Me). He’s also the choreographer of and Dr. Facilier in Descendants 3!
This is my favorite Disney live action adaptation so far! I love this movie! #Bingers The Cheetah Girls Trilogy, Lemonade Mouth, The Parent Trap, Date Night, Couples Retreat, Letters to Juliet, Train to Busan
6:07 The reason it feels faster and slower is because normally you shoot at 24 framers per second. The parts that are in slow motion they filmed at 36 framers per second. (Actor moves fast when shooting) The parts that are fast motion they filmed at 18 framers per second (Actor moves slow when shooting) 10:24 I like how in the live action they added more songs and more character depth for Jasmine.
Oh let’s goooo! Were you “Speechless” watching this movie Billy? 😆 I swear this is one of Disney’s best live action remakes that they’ve done and I know everyone loves the original including myself but I really enjoyed this version of Aladdin so much I prefer it over the original. It’s so well done😍 The only thing I didn’t like was the casting for Jafar. He just didn’t give off that intimidating evil villain type of vibe. Other than that, amazing movie! Please do more of the live action remakes! Still waiting on that Cruella reaction…
You know, I thought I would be the only one that liked this one better than the original. There were some aspects of the movie that freaked me out when I was little and don’t sit well with me now, but the way they added more to Jasmine’s character development, Will Smith’s version of the genie was pretty good, and the little crush I got on the actor that plays Aladdin 😅…all are why I like it better. Haha.
Billie you are such a good daddy. I love how you set things straight in this movie. There is a lot of deceit in movies today that cause kids to develop wrong ethics. I hope you keep showing the truth to your daughter and your audience!
I love this rendition because Jasmine becomes Sultan! There are subtle tones of women empowerment in this one without over doing it. I have a soft spot for the OG cartoon one though Favorite song is one step ahead! Favorite part of the video " before he trap you with a baby " 😳🤣🤣... Ok but he got a point .. 🤣
I agree they didn't do well with A Whole New World but there's a deleted song called Desert Moon they do and they both sound really good in that. It's one of my two favorites, and it's really sad they cut it from the film. Speechless is another one I love.
Billy!!! Your translation of "what about the children" is almost perfect. It's not "qué pasa DE lo niños" but "qué pasa CON los niños". Sorry for this Hermione Granger-like comment and thank you for making us all laugh with each of your movie reactions.
I’m going to need you to do a commentary on Anastasia! I’ve been searching all through your videos to see if you’ve done it before, haven’t found it! It’s such a good animated movie, plus main character is a redhead, always love seeing fellow gingers!
I feel you on the fear of heights/falling billy, I get so anxious watching people that are on tall buildings etc, I even get nauseous going down stairs sometimes 😅
HALLELUJAH!!! Love you, Billy. This was a really great movie. Will Smith was incredible as the genie. RIP Robin Williams, the original genie magic maker.

Of course i love the original but I was genuinely surprised how much fun this film was. I actually prefer a couple of songs from this version from the original, like Friend Like Me and Arabian Nights. But A Whole New World from the original is my favorite Disney song of all time, this version was good but nowhere near as magical as the original. That being said, I was glad this was a fun film!
I think Friend Like Me was better in the original but I REALLY liked how Will did it and the genie in general. He didn't try to copy Robin, he did his own take on it. Also yes, Whole New World was arguably the best Disney song ever 🤣💯
aladdin was my favorite disney movie & the live action is most definitely my favorite too it was so perfectly done 😍 Jasmine had me obsessed the actor did so amazing & her singing too. Speechless had me tears when i first seen it, in the animated video I don't remember Jasmine having much songs if any & I love that they gave her more of a voice in the live action ❤ amazingly done
One of the best Disney remakes ever! It still has the same storyline as the original with a twist and great comedic reliefs. Not to mention the costumes and visual for each performance.
YESSSS MY FAVORITE YES BILLY!!! also a favorite song is hard because Prince Ali slaps, but that break down in Friend Like Me is so hard and One Jump is bomb obviously and A Whole New World is just classic nostalgia, and Arabian Nights is such musical and artistic genius like you cannot ask us stuff like that billy 🤣

The guy who played Aladdin has had a few other acting roles on Netflix called The Royal Treatment and new movie called Hotel for the Holidays. Also there’s gonna be a new Aladdin I think at lest from what I read it’s still being written.
Tbh I loved all three movies the third one is amazing I think as it focuses a lil on Aladdin’s backstory too and second is just funnn ( 2: Jafar’s return) (3: King of thieves )
