Maleficent is the villain from Sleeping Beauty. The baby version of Aroura, is Angelina's actual daughter. She said her daughter wasn't afraid of her, she knew it was her the whole time.
Maleficent awaking to her wings being gone is a reflection of being S.A-ed, while drugged and waking up to the realization and utter pain the event caused. Maleficent turning cold to humans is a great representation of an individual developing hatred for a group of people because one person did that terrible act to her. For many it's awhile gender, for others it's race, and sadly even family. Maleficent's scene greatly mirrors being taken advantage of someone you had complete trust and love in. That's an extra heartbreak sadly many can relate to. Angelina's performance truly felt she pulled from experience..
Love you but couldn’t finish after you laughed a woman being drugged and assaulted. Gave me instant PTSD especially since the putting her to sleep then harming her……this not the reaction. Especially since she trusted him and he used that to lure her into a state to harm her.
You should watch the original Sleepy Beauty as well! It will help you with understand the whole story and how the different movies relate. It’s animation was something they had never done before so it’s also just visually stunning for a 1950s film. #billybinges #bingers
Maleficent couldn’t revoke the curse because when she placed the curse she said “this curse will last til the end of time, no power on earth can change it” so it’s irreversible
The plot of this movie always gets me heated. Just humans being gross and evil then getting mad if the people theyve hurt or try to oppress retaliating. Dude literally went mad because he cut the wings off someone and was afraid she'd come for his life. At no point was she thinking about them but they wanna be petty cuz she can protect her people 😒 like ok humans
29:58 To answer your question: True love kiss for this version. Aurora was kissed from the new mother. The new mother is Maleficent. Her heart was full of hate and anger. Aurora shows her happiness and her heart change into love and... new family
The age 16 is deemed the moment where you transition from childhood innocence, into the journey into adulthood. Many cultures celebrate the age. In history, 16 was actually quite old for a girl too. (To answer your question about the significance of 16)
It was not. This whole thing about people starting families at like 14 in the middleages is a myth, that was only accurate for royalty and nobility who treated arranged marriage like a transaction and didn't do things. Regular people developed normally and lived more or less like people 100 years ago did, and got married in their 20s, nobody wanted a weak 14 y/o girl to manage the whole house/work the field etc.
Watching a man clap as he sees a scene that is heavily rape coded makes me so sad and uneasy. Her waking up after being drugged...her pains of agony and sorrow and he felt absolutely nothing.
Such an amazing way to tell a villain’s story and turn them into the character you root for🙌🏾🙌🏾 It kinda reminds me of the show “Once Upon A Time”, I know you don’t do shows Billy but 👀 #bingers Also Angelina Jolie did an amazing job of acting and directing this movie, definitely one of my favorites🔥😭
Little fact about her discovering the wings are gone: Angelina Jolie said the scene was one giant metaphor for being violated. The drugging, the pain, realizing what happened, it's all right there. P.S. I'm only wording it as such to get past the censors.
@@NeophyteNovice is quite literal and in your face (one of the turning point to empathize with maleficent’s character) she is druged by someone she loved , mutilated and then cries in agony, it doesn’t need to be sexual for it to be OBVIOUS abuse and everybody with half a brain can see that, the movie is not subtle about it
My favorite part of the Maleficent movies is how good the wings look… as someone who has always loved winged characters and has a bunch of winged Ocs… that’s the reason why I even watched the 2nd movie 😂 to appreciate the wing CGI
I loved how they gave the back story of malneficent, and the reason why she cursed Arura the way she did FYI in the original Disney movie Arura married prince Philip (the big head boy she met that kissed her). no his kiss did not wake Aurora. malneficent's kiss woke Arura from her sleep, because over the years of raising her she began to love her like a mother. imo,the king went crazy because he felt guilty for what he did to malneficent, and that's why he would sit and conversation with the wings. Great reaction.
You should definitely watch Sleeping Beauty now! My daughter was obsessed with Sleeping Beauty as a little one and then she naturally loved this at all. That is the "story you probably know" mentioned at the beginning.
I like that twist you proposed. That is the concept of the creatures called the changelings. A goblin(?) would take away your child and replace it with a look-alike, the changeling. It was the explanation people centuries ago could come up with when their child doesn't "act like a normal person."
bro, i didn't know i could feel such anger. 'She learnt a very good lesson that day'?????? Even if Stephan taking Maleficent's wings wasn't a metaphor for rape, what a horrible thing to say regardless.
You don’t have to agree with what I said. I shouldn’t have that much power to make you feel that level of anger. No one should. But thanks for watching ❤️
Her own spell backfired on her. She said that the child would grow in grace and beauty beloved by all who meet her. that also included herself. All magic comes with price. You should watch Once upon a time.
She jinxed herself by saying that Aurora will indeed be beloved by all who meet her. I mean mal is still a villain (in regards to Stefan and Aurora) but she is trying to fix her mistake. The whole moral is no one is a true bad guy or good guy. Stefan was driven by his poor up bringing. She was driven by betrayal. In the end hate and revenge kills and there are always innocent lives that are collatera. For someone who hasn’t seen it you actually knew a lot of the original facts!
I'm a little disappointed that the beginning of this video seems to start late. It stated at the part where she wakes up without her wings and nothing before that 😢
His drugging her and cutting off her wings was supposed to represent rape. Angelina Jolie said that herself. she was assaulted by the man she loved and betrayed. While I usually think your takes are amusing, this one kind of put me off honestly.
Jesus y'all being too much. He knows nothing about this movie and first timing watching that you wouldn't pick it up especially since it's a Disney movie. Don't be too quick to except people just pick this up and their reaction is different
The scene where the little girl comes up to her and Maleficent says I don’t like children, it was actually really hard for Angelina Jolie (Maleficent) to keep a straight face because the little girl is her daughter in real life.
Right! I think I read that she said the line without her there in two different takes. They cut it together to make it look like she said it to aurora.
She was really never a villain. She just wanted to keep her land free. She was hurt and fought back. Her love broke the curse. She opened her heart and land in the end love won.
This was my golden cocker spaniel, Bentley's favourite movie. I lost him in January 2020, at 10 years old. He used to go crazy for the visuals. RIP, Buddy.
Um I'm sorry but the clapping and jesting at the Wing Removal/Symbolic Rape scene and aftermath doesn't sit right with me sorry. Also I read Billy's response to a similar post stating he wasn't aware b4 hand. Not sure how he didn't catch it but hey
I’m telling you the movie you gotta watch is Atlantis the lost empire and/or treasure planet. Was my absolute favorites as a kid and they are not appreciated the way they should be.
🤩 You know, I really like the idea of Maleficent making an evil clone of Aurora and then letting it live out the real one’s life under Maleficent’s commands. Also, the camera shots in this movie are phenomenal. Great movie review!
Sleeping beauty is actually pretty generically what you think of when you think of the classic Disney movie. Malificent curses Arora. She meets a boy in the woods. She falls asleep. Boy kisses her. She wakes up. Very straight forward and kind of the origin of true loves kiss.
FINALLY! You kept saying you were going to do a react to this and I’ve been waiting patiently. Side note: Her making Stefan get on his knees and beg is the ultimate power move and I looooove i!
Ok, is it just me or the video starts without the first 20 minutes of the movie? No intro, nothing, all I see is already at the scene where her wings are cut.
Apparently she used her child to play young aurora that's so sweet. Your considered an adult in the past at 16 and when you turn 16 it's a turning point in life by going from a teen into a young adult
i love how maleficent along with the curse allowed for aurora to be *loved by all who meet her* and ultimately that was her down fall. She didn’t think it throughly that she to would come to *love* her
Angelina's real children played in that. Precious children and they're so pretty and they look like her. Except Aurora.. fairly sure that was someone else. There is a second movie and I love it Aurora gets to know her mother of course Maleficent is jealous because she's the one that raised her. LOL. And she is a phoenix by the way not a dragon. But she does look like a beautiful giant bird Dragon thing. Oh not really a spoiler but kind of sort of remember the fact that she's a phoenix. So even if wants his face had killed her she's a rose from the dead.
Here's some interesting research I found on the actual story: Apparently the spinning wheel is a metaphor for growing up. The Curse was essentially Maleficent saying, "She will be given the chance to grow up." By burning them, the king was saying, "She will NEVER grow up!"
" the Groot's are going to activate?" 🤣🤣. Thanks again for a great commentary. We appreciate you Billy! I'm glad you loved it I really do think you would love cruella #bingers

“Today we are watching *Malnificent* “ - Billy, 2022
Love you but couldn’t finish after you laughed a woman being drugged and assaulted. Gave me instant PTSD especially since the putting her to sleep then harming her……this not the reaction. Especially since she trusted him and he used that to lure her into a state to harm her.
She’s fictional…
get a job
You should watch the original Sleepy Beauty as well! It will help you with understand the whole story and how the different movies relate. It’s animation was something they had never done before so it’s also just visually stunning for a 1950s film. #billybinges #bingers

What Stefan does to Malifecent is actually worse than killing her.
Maleficent couldn’t revoke the curse because when she placed the curse she said “this curse will last til the end of time, no power on earth can change it” so it’s irreversible
22:30 just maleficent being extra petty; since she got her "true love's kiss" at 16 so she purposely set aurora's curse to happen at 16
The plot of this movie always gets me heated.
(To answer your question about the significance of 16)
Well, that explains what Ariel said to her dad in The Little Mermaid about not being a child.
I would love if he reacted to Once Upon A Time...unless he doesn't know a good handful of fairy tales lol
I'm up to season six of OUAT and I really don't want it to end :(
Billy reacting to it would be wild.
Little fact about her discovering the wings are gone: Angelina Jolie said the scene was one giant metaphor for being violated. The drugging, the pain, realizing what happened, it's all right there.
P.S. I'm only wording it as such to get past the censors.
I feel like Billy was really insensitive to that scene and it wasn’t right he laughed , maybe he didn’t fully understand the scene !
@@Its_sarajean the only reason people “understand” that scene is because people read it or heard it somewhere. Majority did not when first viewing it
@@NeophyteNovice is quite literal and in your face (one of the turning point to empathize with maleficent’s character) she is druged by someone she loved , mutilated and then cries in agony, it doesn’t need to be sexual for it to be OBVIOUS abuse and everybody with half a brain can see that, the movie is not subtle about it
@@brianc4632 people cheer for the villains all the time, it’s not uncommon. It’s just perspective. You saw it one way he saw it another.
@@NeophyteNovice so now you don’t respond?
20:03 Fun fact: that's Angelina Jolie's real life daughter. She was the only one not scared of her in costume.
@@BillyBinges it's a rare occurrence for me not to agree with you if I'm being honest. That whole scene was just a bit of a miss.
Why?
Billy!! The reason she was so upset and crying was because they actually played it like a SA.
It’s funny that you mentioned Dakota Fanning because Aurora (sleeping beauty) is played by Dakota’s little sister Elle Fanning
Billy be the villain of all movies for real.
Idk how to feel about Billy rooting for Stefan there in the beginning 🥲
Billy thank for all the support that you do and without ur funniness I would have been in a very dark place thank u so much
Every time he says "Malnificent," I cackle.
“You shoulda gone for the head like thanos said” is my new favorite quote 💀
I'm a little disappointed that the beginning of this video seems to start late. It stated at the part where she wakes up without her wings and nothing before that 😢
if billy was in fairytail; he would 100% a villain.
The toddler aged Aurora is Angelina Jolie's actual daughter (with Brad Pitt)
The scene where the little girl comes up to her and Maleficent says I don’t like children, it was actually really hard for Angelina Jolie (Maleficent) to keep a straight face because the little girl is her daughter in real life.
Right! I think I read that she said the line without her there in two different takes. They cut it together to make it look like she said it to aurora.
Naw Billy, she was bitter because the King betrayed her friendship when he cut off her wings to gain power.
RIP, Buddy.
mentions Dakota Fanning....that's funny cause thats her sister Elle in this movie
maleficent isn't evil, just wants revenge. in the beginning of the movie she was nice and friendly to everyone, even the human that was stealing
Um I'm sorry but the clapping and jesting at the Wing Removal/Symbolic Rape scene and aftermath doesn't sit right with me sorry.
Also I read Billy's response to a similar post stating he wasn't aware b4 hand. Not sure how he didn't catch it but hey
Billy: “Disney doesn’t kill kids.”
Hocus Pocus: “Are you sure about that?”
I’m telling you the movie you gotta watch is Atlantis the lost empire and/or treasure planet. Was my absolute favorites as a kid and they are not appreciated the way they should be.
I’ve been requesting those for a year now!! I hope they are on his list!!
I don’t believe in true love. Some people be finding their "true love" 3 times a year and guess what, none of them work out.
🤩 You know, I really like the idea of Maleficent making an evil clone of Aurora and then letting it live out the real one’s life under Maleficent’s commands. Also, the camera shots in this movie are phenomenal. Great movie review!
It’s so crazy you mentioned Dakota Fanning because Sleeping Beauty is played by Elle Fanning, her younger sister!!
That’s what I’m saying man this guy videos used to be the best now he’s just changed
@@ISA-el4je I was asking cause I thought something was wrong with my computer 😂. I replayed 10 times for make sure it wasn't.
Apparently she used her child to play young aurora that's so sweet. Your considered an adult in the past at 16 and when you turn 16 it's a turning point in life by going from a teen into a young adult
1:56 she was a fairy 🕯️🧚🕯️
i love how maleficent along with the curse allowed for aurora to be *loved by all who meet her* and ultimately that was her down fall. She didn’t think it throughly that she to would come to *love* her
3:30 did he just hella casually give us a no hat reveal?? 💀 After all this drama over never doing it lmaoooooo
Billy says Maleficent like the priest from Princess Bride says "Marriage"
Ohh boy… not princess bride I already got canceled for that video 😂 I guess I’m 2 for 2
Angelina's real children played in that.
Movie title: Maleficent
What the fairies call her: Maleficent
Billy: MaNiFiCeNt
I love Maleficent but the second movie is what got me 😩🙌🏽 The second one is HARD 🔥🔥🔥
#bingers
Did yall see Billy without out his hat on. 3:29. all I can say is 😱😱. Cough* U look good Billy. I love you
Here's some interesting research I found on the actual story:
Apparently the spinning wheel is a metaphor for growing up.
The Curse was essentially Maleficent saying, "She will be given the chance to grow up."
By burning them, the king was saying, "She will NEVER grow up!"
"You know how hot your breath gotta be to make the bird fly away" had me dying XD
" the Groot's are going to activate?" 🤣🤣. Thanks again for a great commentary. We appreciate you Billy!
I'm glad you loved it I really do think you would love cruella #bingers
He already did it and it was so hilarious💜
BILLY WITHOUT A HAT ON IN THE ADD????? why is no one else commenting about this??
Maleficent's pronunciation as Malnificent is one of the best parts of this movie reaction. 🤣
Billy: none of you will ever see me without this hat!
Billy in his promo: *has no hat*
Me: *surprised pikachu face*
According to the book waring human battles caused the death of her parents. If you watch the second movie it has Michelle Pfeiffer.
not Billy say Maleficent wrong the whole time 😭😭😂😂😂 “malnificent” - there is no N 😭
25:16 Exactly how a father would react when his daughter presents someone to him saying "We met in art class"
If you're always happy, you can't show compassion, so NO, I wouldn't want to be happy all the time.
"The groots are gonna activate." LOL you are so funny
24:07 "The curse will last till the end of time, No power on Earth can change it"... which means including Maleficent power of her own!
30:05 that's right, who said love is only man-woman love, there's Mother-daughter's love too! :3
“She was a gargoyle she ain’t looking like no damn fairy” “I always thought her name was sleeping beauty” billy PLS 😭😭 you just started and you already wilding
#bingers house bunny, Sydney white, how to train your dragon, instant family
In those times, minus the fairies, someone of such powerful stature as Maleficent not receiving an invitation to a christening is equal to a smack with a white glove at royal levels
The wings being removed was a metaphor for a rap€ . It was the saddest part of the movie.
Fun fact, the little adorable toddler Arora was played by Angelina's daughter.
Angelina was so good ❤she’s stunning
