As far as remakes go, the Aladdin one was pretty good. They changed things up, put more focus on Jasmine, introduced new secondary characters-it works really well. For recommendations from the Aladdin universe, I’d recommend “Proud of Your Boy” from the stage production. It was written for the original movie but cut when they changed some things story wise, but it’s still fantastic
@@richardkirkland6805I liked how they gave genie someone, I know priginal genie didn’t need a woman but I thought it was soo adorable in the live action when he got to be with the handmaiden and how Jasmine was hyping her up to go

I loved the live action Aladdin. I never realized that Jasmine never had a song of her own until I heard Speechless. It's now one of my favorite songs. @@clarisacalderon9555I completely agree. The initial interaction between Aladdin and Jasmine only existed because Jasmine had enough backbone to leave the palace. She is a strong independent woman. There are not only more songs from these movies, but the original got two sequels that also had songs. Their quality is not as good as the original film, but watching them might still make for a fun video.
The actress who played Jasmine also played a girl named Mo in disneys original movie Lemonade mouth. I would love it if you listened to a couple songs from that movie as well ☺️
So here's the thing... I am a HUGE Aladdin fan. Watched it basically 3 times a day as a kid. And Aladdin is my favorite character (of course Genie too, but I always think Aladdin doesn't get enough love). Aladdin may seem cocky in the clips you saw, but he's actually filled with self doubt and longing for a better life. He played the part of a prince in order to be allowed to win the girl he loved since that was the law. He loved her even before he knew she was a princess. And throughout his story, he realized that he needed to stop pretending to be someone he wasn't and learn to love himself and be honest. His story has always been super motivational for me, and I love his development. That being said, you are right to think that the live action Aladdin was an interesting conversation starter between Disney fans. As fans of the original (especially Robin Williams), many people were quick to disregard the live action and hate on it. One of the biggest problems people had was actually Will Smith as Genie, stating that no one but Robin could be Genie. I understood the sentiment, but I think those fans forget that there are many INCREDIBLE Genie performances like in the Broadway. I appreciated that Will Smith took the time to address it, saying that he was actually quite fearful of the role since he respected what Robin brought to the character. It showed he cared about what he was getting into in my opinion, and I love that he brought himself into a new Genie. He wasn't trying to be Robin Williams. He created a new flavor of Genie that you could tell was based off some of his past roles. People also tended to hate on the music of the new movie. I honestly think playing the music outside of the movie is an injustice. They are quite odd by themselves, but once you see them in the context of the film, they fit quite well. I'm sure there are still plenty of people who will give me hate on this comment. Of course the original will always be my favorite, but I actually really liked the new one. I enjoyed the different aspects they gave to the story, and how that brought in new fans to it in general. It was similar to the original but not the same in a way that made it refreshing to watch. Definitely worth it in my opinion. :)
So this video really brings it home that Mat will always find the darkest parts to the way the songs are shown. I mean he somehow convinced himself the Genie could send Aladdin to a dimension of eternal torture.
After this video and you saying you like Disney movies I need that starkid twisted reaction. There's demand for it your second channel video for the guy who didn't like musicals is at 90k views ;)
The version of Speechless from the movie is even better. It was shot in one take and she sings live for it. It’s breathtaking. The remake of Prince Ali was also fire
You saying you haven't watched a lot of older Disney movies reminded me, I'd love to have you react to songs from Thumbelina! Especially Let Me Be Your Wings. It's not exactly Disney I don't think? But it's very good!
I'd love to see you react to some of the songs from the sequel movies, like 'You're Only Second-Rate', 'Welcome to the Forty Thieves', and 'Are You In Or Out.'
Great video!!! it's interesting to hear the perspective of someone who has never watched Aladdin before. Also are you going to react to the rest of the songs? The ones you have left from the OG that you haven't seen: 1.Arabian Nights 2.One Jump ahead (reprise) (It's short but still important for Aladdin's character) 3.Prince Ali (reprise) (Also short but it's the only song Jafar gets in the OG) The ones you have left from the remake that you haven't seen: 1.Arabian Nights Will Smith's version 2.One Jump Ahead 3.Speechless Part 1 4.Prince Ali 5.One Jump Ahead Reprise 2 6.Speechless Part 2
U need to watch Aladdin Now!!! It’s so good. One of my fav’s. Mulan and Pocahontas are also ones I liked a lot when I was younger. U need to see all the Disney Renaissance movies like now! They are amazing!
About the Genie. The Genie is a nice djinn. Even explaining how a wish can be misinterpreted to Aladdin in the LA remake. In the sequel to the original there's another djinn that misinterprets the wishes to screw over the owner of the lamp, so no having the lamp does not protect you.
After watching this I think you should watch Aladdin (obviously) and Starkid's Twisted. What you said in One Jump Ahead is actually referenced in it and it's hilarious.
i love the remake for giving jasmine her own song, and a beautiful one at that. naomi has such a gorgeous and powerful voice-and don’t mind my pun-that makes you speechless when listening to her song.
Don’t know how you would ever incorporate this in a video - maybe as the entire album? - but Disney got a lot of artists to remix some of their most classic songs, and Neyo’s rendition of Friend Like Me is, for me at least, just a hairs breath beneath Robin Williams’ as my favorite version. An amazingly smooth jazzy/big band rendition that I think you would absolutely enjoy!
I'm so happy you reacted to one of my favourite Disney films! And I didn't even think the live action remake was too bad. One that is VERY underrated is the Disney film of Robin Hood. it's another favourite of mine but I rarely hear people talk about it. I would love if you reacted to it :3
Highly recommend you check out the songs that are JUST in the broadway/west end version of aladdin too. Theres some beautiful songs in that. Aladdin even has a ballad.
i really liked the animated aladdin when i was younger, then didnt watch it for at least 7 years or so and then the kive action came out and i absolutely loved it and went to the cinema twice to watch it haha speechless is my absolute favorite aladdin song and im glad jasmine got her own song in the live action naomi scott absolutely killed it (i watched the movie at the cinema in german and the german version is also amazing but sang so differently than naomi sings it and i listened to the english songs on my way home from the cinema and absolutely loved both versions)
I'm really glad you reacted to the Speechless music video. In the movie the song is split into two parts, and I was worried you might only find the first part and miss out on the second. The quiet, slow, first part is towards the beginning of the movie when she is frustrated with feeling like she doesn't have a choice in who she gets to marry and not being allowed to rule on her own. The second half is at the climax of the movie. If you're able to, you should really watch the scene just before the climax and then watch Speechless, it is even more powerful than just watching the music video on its own.
Matthew, the last song is sung by Naomi Scott who played in another Disney channel musical movie Lemonade Mouth which is amazing and you should definitely check it out if you haven't already
The point of Prince Ali wasn't just say Aladdin was a prince. It was meant to say he was both powerful and wealthy enough to be worthy of marrying the Sultan's daughter. If he were a poor prince with nothing to contribute but a na,e he still would've turned away.
I need you to react to Twisted by Starkid. It's an aladdin parody musical, in the style of Wicked (So you have to watch the whole Aladdin movie first).
I think the logic of "just dress Aladdin up and call him a prince of a far-off land" worked on the idea that like, A Knight's Tale did - that there were so many princes of tiny little kingdoms that had various nobility, and it wasn't like they had google, so it was highly unlikely they'd ever discover he was a fake that way. And yeah, Genie was literally just being Aladdin's hype man.
Okay now you gotta check out Starkid's musical called Twisted! It's a parody of Aladdin thats sooooo worth watching! Gotta be one of my favorite musicals ever.
i hope u enjoy seeing me get progressively sweatier in this vid as my room cooks me alive 😇

Speechless is a good song. But it fits in Aladdin about as well as mustard on ice cream.
Now please watch Starkids Musical "Twisted", it's a Aladin-parody show and extremely good!😃
So this video really brings it home that Mat will always find the darkest parts to the way the songs are shown. I mean he somehow convinced himself the Genie could send Aladdin to a dimension of eternal torture.
I don't think Mathew knows how genies work lmao
Now you have to do Twisted, you just must
Yes please
It’s only fitting
The Genie had limits, 3 wishes, can't make anyone fall in love, can't wish for any more wishes, can't raise the dead and is limited by the lamps.
After this video and you saying you like Disney movies I need that starkid twisted reaction.
There's demand for it your second channel video for the guy who didn't like musicals is at 90k views ;)
3:25 YOUR REACTION IS SO FUNNY PLEASE😭
The version of Speechless from the movie is even better. It was shot in one take and she sings live for it. It’s breathtaking. The remake of Prince Ali was also fire
You saying you haven't watched a lot of older Disney movies reminded me, I'd love to have you react to songs from Thumbelina! Especially Let Me Be Your Wings. It's not exactly Disney I don't think? But it's very good!
"Riff-raff!"
"Street rat!"
"MEAT PACK!"
Genie in the first one does wear pants, just only when he is fully walking around, not half summoned
I'd love to see you react to some of the songs from the sequel movies, like 'You're Only Second-Rate', 'Welcome to the Forty Thieves', and 'Are You In Or Out.'
Opinion thats actually a fact: Robin Williams' voice acting performance as the genie is one of if not the best voice acting performance like, ever!
Plaese watch twisted, its a starkid musical of Aladdin told from Jafar's perspective, i think your reaction to it would be great
Great video!!! it's interesting to hear the perspective of someone who has never watched Aladdin before. Also are you going to react to the rest of the songs?
The ones you have left from the OG that you haven't seen:
1.Arabian Nights
2.One Jump ahead (reprise) (It's short but still important for Aladdin's character)
3.Prince Ali (reprise) (Also short but it's the only song Jafar gets in the OG)
The ones you have left from the remake that you haven't seen:
1.Arabian Nights Will Smith's version
2.One Jump Ahead
3.Speechless Part 1
4.Prince Ali
5.One Jump Ahead Reprise 2
6.Speechless Part 2
dont for get a whole new world!
@@missroyaltea4012 He said he already heard that one. also it's don't forget not dont for get.
One I would highly recommend is "proud of your boy " from the Aladdin stage musical
Kind of amazing how well these older musical numbers convey exactly what they’re all about in story compared to some of the modern Disney movie songs
U need to watch Aladdin Now!!! It’s so good. One of my fav’s. Mulan and Pocahontas are also ones I liked a lot when I was younger. U need to see all the Disney Renaissance movies like now! They are amazing!
He’s GOT to listen to Annapantsu! Especially her Prince Ali cover, PLEASE!
7:37, in the movie, it’s the former. In the source material, it’s the latter
Aladdin has a couple of sequels and I think they have songs too.
Loved speechless from the live action bc it was about how princess jasmine was done being silent and she spoke up for herself 💜💜💜
i love the remake for giving jasmine her own song, and a beautiful one at that. naomi has such a gorgeous and powerful voice-and don’t mind my pun-that makes you speechless when listening to her song.
I actually love the live action films so much that they do for old Disney movies!! The songs are incredible
I'm so happy you reacted to one of my favourite Disney films! And I didn't even think the live action remake was too bad. One that is VERY underrated is the Disney film of Robin Hood. it's another favourite of mine but I rarely hear people talk about it. I would love if you reacted to it :3
Great! Now it's time for Starkid's Twisted
Highly recommend you check out the songs that are JUST in the broadway/west end version of aladdin too. Theres some beautiful songs in that. Aladdin even has a ballad.
i really liked the animated aladdin when i was younger, then didnt watch it for at least 7 years or so and then the kive action came out and i absolutely loved it and went to the cinema twice to watch it haha
speechless is my absolute favorite aladdin song and im glad jasmine got her own song in the live action
naomi scott absolutely killed it (i watched the movie at the cinema in german and the german version is also amazing but sang so differently than naomi sings it and i listened to the english songs on my way home from the cinema and absolutely loved both versions)
You should definitely react to all of Aladdin’s music.all are incredible!
I shall now begin to ask you to watch the musical Twisted by Starkid. It's company behind The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals. It's great timing now.
now that you have (finally) watched aladdin, you should definitely check out Twisted, Starkid's AMAZING musical parody
This was so fun! As one of my favorite Disney movies, I really enjoyed this❤️
The point of Prince Ali wasn't just say Aladdin was a prince. It was meant to say he was both powerful and wealthy enough to be worthy of marrying the Sultan's daughter. If he were a poor prince with nothing to contribute but a na,e he still would've turned away.
15:36 HECK TO THE YES! LOVE THIS VERSION OF THE SONG, TOO!
Speechless was such a good song when I heard it I was immediately in love with it
This is one of my favorite Disney movies, and the Broadway performance is just as good as both the original and live action movies
Jasmine’s best song was the peacock princess one from this Disney stories movie, I wished she sung that one in the live action movie
AAH Aladdin is my favourite Disney movie!
I need you to react to Twisted by Starkid. It's an aladdin parody musical, in the style of Wicked (So you have to watch the whole Aladdin movie first).
Please watch Twisted... It's a musical that looks at the Aladdin story with Aladdin as the bad guy.
This is so cool! I actually played as Aladdin in an Aladdin musical back in May!!
If your looking for old Disney movies the hunchback of Norte dame has FANTASTIC music, highly highly recommend.
Fun fact!
Frank Walker, aka Fred Jones, voices many characters in this movie!
Abu and the Cave of Wonders, for example!
When he said bwah, bwah🎶, I felt that.
Okay now you gotta check out Starkid's musical called Twisted! It's a parody of Aladdin thats sooooo worth watching! Gotta be one of my favorite musicals ever.
