This is definitely a Disney live-action remake worth checking out. It’s actually pretty fun sometimes. Even Will Smith as the Genie is kinda funny. Not as funny as Robin Williams, but funny nonetheless.

The only reason why I loved the live action version was because of Naomi Scott. The way she sang the second part of Speechless gave me chills and it became my favorite song after that.

Namoi Scott is awesome, went from Mo from Disney DCOM Lemonade Mouth, Pink Ranger from the Power Rangers movie to being Jasmine than became one of Charlie's Angels.

I actually loved this movie when it came out and went multiple times because it was so fun. I'm a sucker for a well-choreographed musical. And everyone is beautiful in it, like come on. Glad to see other people enjoy it as well.
I haven’t seen the original in what feels like forever. I like the live action but I don’t know which one is better since I don’t really remember the original version that much. One of the main things I really remember from seeing this version in theaters when it came out in 2019 was me skipping kinda out of the theater all happy and singing/humming some of the songs, and feeling the Disney magic I guess you can say. Love the videos! You do an amazing job!

This is one of my fav Disney live adaptations! This is definitely set in the Middle East, if it were Indian, they would wear very different attire such as punjabis (long shirt and pants) or saris. They may have casted South Asian actors/actresses for this movie because it's Disney and they like to cast people that aren't accurate in representation lol but I love that you're watching this! :)

the original will always be the best and i know many dislike this movie but i feel it couldnt been easy to bring to life such iconic and one of my favorite animations to life so i give them credit for trying i really enjoy movie i loved naomi voice and will did amazing job as genie although mena might have been perfect aladdin i didnt hate his performance
This is a fun live-action adaptation, but it felt like they tried to make the Genie's songs a little too Will Smith. "Heard your princess was hot, where is she?" Felt especially egregious to me.

Fun fact abaddon is a story folklore that is in the story book a thousand nights where a slave 👧 in order to save yer life she tells the King 🤴a story every night 🌙 so her life is spared and aladdin and sinbad are those stories!

The only live action Disney remakes I really enjoyed to the point of rewatching them are The Little Mermaid and Cinderella 2015, but I gotta admit that this one was pretty good. It could've been a lot better, but it kept me hooked for most of it and it actually felt like an Aladdin remake (not like the Lion King which skipped on half of the Be Prepared song for no reason while villain songs and love songs are the most important songs in classic Disney)

DEPTH. A movie recommended, Nimona (the Netflix film). I feel like you'll love this film by the animations and everything. It's a really good film, I'm not gonna say anything of how I felt watching it but it is such a great film. It's based off a novel. Solid 9/10 personally for me.
The original is my absolute favorite movie of all time. I do like this movie though not my favorite but it’s a fun time.

I really like this remake! I’ll be honest, I’m not attached to Aladdin by any means. It was not one of those movies I watched often as a kid. That being said, I loved Naomi Scott as Jasmine and the “Speechless” song, the actor that plays Aladdin became one of my celeb crushes (subpar acting aside), Will Smith puts a nice spin on the Genie, and I really enjoy the new additions to the remake. Also, I’m secretly glad that Jafar wasn’t too creepy in this lol.

I love how whether she's in animated *or* live action form, people will find Princess Jasmine attractive 😭 (relatable, so I can't talk smack) I couldn't help but enjoy this remake *mainly* due to Will Smith's charisma, and I actually like that they didn't try so hard to replicate the original Friend Like Me. 'Cause there'll never be another Robin Williams regardless, and god rest his soul! But I am glad that Disney had the right mind to still hire a beloved comedic actor, since Will Smith adds his own little bit of different lines to Genie in this!
I would be so curious to see this company do double features of its most-successful/liked originals + their remakes after! Either via streaming or in theaters!
And I personally think Aladdin's live-action actor was a better dancer, than trying to act as his character.. But the general public also hasn't seen this actor in any other big roles, so I don't entirely fault him. It's just a bit of a let-down as the movie's title character 😅

This love action would've been very Good, if Jasmine and Jaffar were played by other ppl and written differently (as in stayed true to the OG) and Aladdin could have been better

Aladdin was okay, Adorable and looked perfect... but lacking the Rizz, Charm and heart of the animated version, it couldve been better
then set and costume design 💯, the Handsmaid and Genie ship and the humour of the Scandinavian Prince = Golden, its literally just Jasmine and her boring portrayal (they lightskin Aunt Viv her!) The -100 chemistry she has with Aladdin and their cringe moments, A whole new world being meh, And Jaffars mid ness that made the love action not great and just okay
Actually, aside from everything about this movie, it actually is the most culturally accurate movie 😅 atleast they used some actual Arab/Middle Eastern actors
Overall the live actions are terrible but I feel like the new background stories and new side characters are usually the strongest point in every one of them.
If only Disney took the hint and made completely new movies instead.,

This is my boyfriend and I's favoite live action. I feel the same way about Robbin Williams, but when we really separated the two, Will Smith did amazing and really made the role his own. Its never gonna be as good as the original (In my opinion), but this one was just so beautifully made. Every scene is just gorgeous to look at and the soundtrack is breathtaking. After seeing it a few times Jafar did grow on me but hes still the weakest link (whoops) haha.
I don't care what others say, I think this one is actually better than the original. To be fair, I didn't see the original until I was in High School, so I don't have the nostalgia bias that most have. The original was actually surprisingly underwhelming to me when I saw it, but this one delivered on everything that I initially expected the original to deliver on.

Even though this isn't the worst of the live-action Disney remakes, as someone who loves and grew up with the original Aladdin, I honestly wasn't a fan of it. Will Smith as Genie was a mixed bag for me, but whenever he was not CGI, I consider that him at his best in this movie.

Okay first of all: the fact that you’re wearing a sweater from the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Dark Arts Merch is making my inner nerd so happy hehe 💀
And also I have to say as much as I disliked a lot of this movie and generally hate the songs they write for these live action adaptations that usually don’t really fit with the rest of the original songs in the movie and are honestly only put in there so that they’re eligible for awards (Evermore from the live action Beauty in the Beast is garbage next to If I Can’t Love Her, which is that song’s equivalent in the Broadway musical version and actually fits in with the rest of the music), I actually LOVE Speechless. On its own it’s just a beautiful song and Naomi Scott KILLS those vocals.

I genuinely love the song "Speechless." It's a great song with a great message and Naomi KILLS it. It's also such a fun song to sing. But the way they include the song in the film completely 100% ruins every word of it. It's so poorly executed and it's just plain bad. Forget the scenes and just listen to the soundtrack version, genuinely. The actual full song is really good, and again, Naomi Scott has a phenomenal voice and some of those notes are hard to belt out and she attacks them so well. I completely agree that the way they portrayed Aladdin and Jasmine's roles were just cheesy and unconvincing. They tried so hard to make Jasmine more empowered, and they succeeded slightly, but just barely. Will Smith did a fantastic job making the role his own, and his songs are great. The acting was definitely subpar, but the songs and the choreography are really well done. It's worth watching the movie to see it and see Will Smith do such a good job with such a terrifying role, and Mena (Aladdin) is an insanely great dancer and Naomi is a fantastic singer. Aside from that...I mean...The CGI cat is cool.
