Prison is the punishment set down at law, not the vigilante justice of fellow prisoners. No one likes a rapist either but many men accused of rape just say they want to be women and once convicted are put in women's prisons and aren't harmed when you might think that the ladies would assist them in their reassignment surgery.

If as a murderer she is shackled hands & feet then she would have no option but to be taken to court. If she did refuse then an automatic 5 year prison sentence should be given regardless legally. Instead of these barristers being able to protect their charges with "its their right" and "no comment" when arrested the convicted continue to manipulate the law. She should FACE the families of the murdered babies.

If there's any real justice in this world, the other prisoners will get hold of her, and show her what true justice really is behind bars. Child killers in prison are amongst the top targets for other prisoners to attack and kill if they get the chance, so with any luck, the prison officers will "forget" to lock her cell, or turn their backs for a while, and let the other inmates mete out the justice this monster deserves. There are no doubt those among society who believe Letby should be given specialised counselling and therapy, with a cushy cell away from everyone else, and shown as much mercy as humanly possible, mercy she showed NONE of her helpless victims. Just leave her alone in the general population for a few minutes, and save the tax-payers decades of money used to pay for her new life inside. Why was it allowed to get to 7 when alarm bells were ringing??.....I'd like to see the NHS workers that failed to see prison too.
    This is far from over

@Calmlocket But it sounds like alarm bells were ringing before hand and management refused to take concerns on board. I think that's what people want to know. That amount of deaths even in sick babies was not normal. So why didn't they act sooner?

No one found guilty should have the choice to evade sentencing in front of the judge and the victim’s families. These families didn’t get a choice when their children were taken from them so why should people like her be given a choice. It should be made compulsory.

Sadistic Beast. Today should give her enough sick pleasurable memories to keep her company for the rest of her life.

They should play this in her prison cell in a way that she can't turn it off and if she blocks her ears, play it over until her hands get tired.

Here's hoping she gets put in general population - no exceptions - and all her inmates show her true karma/justice for the rest of her days! The families will never have a day of peace for the rest of their lives - she deserves the exact same thing but 10 fold.

The big question now is - how to stop this ever happening again? She must have something wrong with her mentally, no nurse in her position would ever harm babies or anyone else if she (or he) were in good or normal mental health, as nurses, obviously are there to take care of patients, help them recover and save their lives. Such a tragedy for the babies and their families. Now she has the rest of her life in a cell to think about it. The judge was absolutely right to impose a whole life sentence, no lesser sentence would have been acceptable. She now joins Rosemary West and Myra Hindley as one of Britain’s most notorious and hated killers.

Now that she’s convicted, the public enquiry ought to focus on the corrupt NHS executives in the hospital and board who protected and apologised to her! All of this to the detriment of its patients and those who fund public services. They used HR rules and PC legislation to protect her, whilst damaging the very people these rules were apparently introduced to protect. This case speaks volumes to the issues with Britain currently. We live in a upside down society where the innocent are victimised and harmed and the evil among us are protected. Sickening
