I thought I knew my husband...we divorced because my teen son was argumentative and disruptive. We had split two properties and I was awarded the smaller house, the house I raised my children in. For some reason, we met at the little house for some business manner. I had already moved to Sacramento and was going to move back into the house. As we were walking to the back of the house, I noticed that the door to the basement was open. It never is open. The basement is small and the six steps deep. All of a sudden, he says to me, "I think it would be a good idea if you killed yourself." I don't even remember reacting to that or feeling threatened, and nothing happened but now, thinking back, I feel terror and fear. My husband had never wanted to part with that small house because he wanted it for our son, who was now over twenty, about 22. Oh, my God, that man was normally quiet, even cryptic, flat lining. But any man can be psychotic and I cringe thinking he had considered pushing me down those stairs. OMG.
Glad you are ok. My husband tried to strangle me in front of 4 people. When I was able to break away he hade handed our son to his brother told him to leave and not bring him back till he called him. I left to say at my parents called my lawyer. Lawyar told me I would have to go back and pretend I was calling off divorce to get my child back home so I did. That night back my son wanted to swim in the pool and my husband came up behind us and suddenly I realized he could easily finish the job so at 5 30 that morning I grabbed my child and ran to a shelter.

Women need to have more respect for themselves. Who wants a man who cannot see you evenings, weekends or on any holiday. Only a woman with no self respect would want a man who offered so little. Further, he will be half the man you started chasing if he divorces his wife. The courts will take 40 - 50 percent of his paychecks and at least 50% of his current wealth. Married men should be seen as "not worth it" to single women. To any woman cheating with a married man.....get some self respect. You are worth more than the relationship.

As soon as he said "I have a patient who has fallen down some stairs" that did it for me. I knew he did it. Do I think he was a monster previously? What is with this sickening loyalty to the father who killed your mother? EVERY CASE it seems the daughters latch onto their own mother's murderer. I am disgusted And he will only serve maybe a decade?? Great job Orange County!! Embarrassed to admit that was my hometown.
He has probably brainwashed her into thinking he is innocent. And she just lost her mother and is probably afraid to lose her father too. But once he is in jail for a while and she is out of his sphere of influence, she will probably change her mind. The anger will surface.
Hard to like either of these adults. Mom posting nude photos to her friends on fb?? Dad sounds like he never cared about his wife. I feel sorry for their children.
She's probably already struggling with the loss of her mother and now she's going to lose her father. He's probably been brainwashing her to think he's innocent. But once reality sets in she will probably get angry
she was 12 when her mother died. it’s not that crazy to see why she might cling desperately to a belief that her only parent left is innocent and wrongly convicted if he’s promised her he is and she wants that to be the truth. it’s been proven time and time again that it’s easy to manipulate children when you’re a trusted figure in their life… her continued belief in him/denial is likely an unconscious mental defense against what her brain sees as unacceptable trauma related to a truth based on her dad’s actions against her mom and her as well as a result being reality
Mary Catherine asking the judge for leniency so she can be with her dad again was one of the saddest things to watch. But we need to remember that it’s not the judge nor jury that we should blame. The only person that is responsible for all of this is SCOTT STILLS.
They will literally throw a dog into the pony show to provide plausible doubt, however questionable. I fell down 10 steps down my stairs in early 2023. I have always been fast paced. I was home alone. I know I was unconscious for at least 20 minutes. I woke up with ringing in my ears, a pool of blood on the first landing where my head was. My body on the second landing that went to next flight of stairs. I broke my nose, both wrists, concussion, cuts on my face from the same type staircase, bruising all over my body and face, two black eyes I looked like a raccoon. Injured my spine but not sure which vertebrae exactly - I’d have to look at my paperwork. My whole body got swollen and one big toe was literally black. I needed surgery for my wrists- rods were surgically transplanted. I survived at 68 years of age but needed a lot of hand and physical therapy. Doesn’t make sense she did not leave traces of blood on the staircase. Nothing mentioned about bruising.
Wait, he calls 911 and calls his wife a patient? If she had the pot in her hands it would’ve been the first thing to roll down the stairs making lots of noises and certainly it wouldn’t have stopped in the middle of the room neatly placed as if it were on the stove. The body would not have been to the side of the stairs either and the scarf would be sitting near the body, not that far away. The whole scene looks staged to me.
Right! AND the dogs would have been frantically barking to alert others in the house that she was laying there in danger! Dogs are known for doing things like that.
They seriously believed dogs strangled her? Dogs dont play like that. If she is struggling like her life depend on it the dogs would have let it go. And, struggling with a dog is LOUD. i mean LOUD
The thought of a dog being able to strangle a person with a scarf is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while. When I saw the question "did her dogs play a role in her death" I thought they meant maybe she tripped over them and fell down the stairs.

Also everyone has their "professional" face, their public one, and their "real" personality which usually only friends, family, or loved ones see. And sometimes not even then. Suzanne's mother is incredibly beautiful, like her daughter. How she fell for putty face beggars belief. I wondered if Suzanne was ever prone to previous 'accidents' due to her health issues. I hope Suzanne's children can overcome this tragedy and go on to thrive.
The dogs were in their crate and there were no holes from the dog's mouth on the scarf. If Suzanne fell down I would think she would try to grab on to at least one rail on the stair to stop herself. There would be blood all over the stairs also. I had fallen once down a lead staircase and had a cut on my forehead that bled all over the stairs, lowest place on walls near the stairs, my chest and face. I was a child and actually scared seeing all the blood. In comparison, Suzanne's stairs are pristine.. No blood except in the bedroom. It doesn't make sense.

OMG.
