Hi everyone, thank you so much for joining me in this (nearly) hour long yin yoga practice for self-care, rest and relaxation. This is a full body flexibility class suitable for all levels. I recommend having two blocks nearby or a bolster.
If you've been feeling depleted, stressed, burnt out or overwhelmed, this is a lovely practice to help you soothe your nervous system and get back to yourself. I don't talk very much when I teach yin yoga because I want you to take the opportunity to go inward and listen to your body's inherent wisdom. Less is always more in yin yoga.
I'll take you through poses like supported fish, supported bridge/butterfly, half butterfly, straddle, pigeon pose, child's pose and savasana.
What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints.
There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.

Hi Kassandra, just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying the Yin YOGA classes. I tried other types of yoga but Yin is the style for me. I am 65 years old and I do one of your Yin yoga classes almost every day and I just love the feeling I get from it. Your soothing voice and relaxing music is so nice. Thank you for these classes. I never thought I would find something that I enjoy so much!

i love how long you hold the poses for, it's absolutely what i need and the very best way to do a yin class, im so happy you exist!
Loved it. Nice poses. Small feedback: I wish for some time to feel and let the effect of the poses settle after having stayed in them for so long. So during the transition a bit more time in between. Also at the end after rolling on the side.
I really enjoyed the music in this and seeing the dog passing through.

Two things I absolutely love about your classes...1: you're not chit chatty, only very helpful pointing out what to observe when assuming a pose and 2. you always include some poses that focus on the hips which I consistently need and appreciate. This class was EXACTLY what I needed today. My body has been through a lot lately and I've been feeling incredibly drained and depleted. This was such a nourishing and comforting little "me time" break. I incorporated my bolster for most of the poses and it felt incredibly nourishing to my nervous system. This is going to be a go-to class moving forward.

I don’t usually like Yin yoga but with the help of a bolster, 2 blocks and a thin cushion I managed to get comfortable in most of the poses & was surprised how quickly it went. I shall definitely not shy away from Yin again! Thank you Kassandra for this calming relaxing class. 🙏 Namaste

I need to do WAY more Yin Yoga practices! My body feels extremely challenged by holding these poses for extended periods. I really enjoyed this class, as always, it taught me something about why consistency is key, the more I practice, the easier and better these poses will feel!

Awesome. Was going to my usual fave, reclined Yin, but will give this a go. Love the music on the reclined Yin one, I go somewhere else when I do that one
This class was an absolute bliss! My body and mind feel super relaxed and zen, which is a wonderful feeling ☺. Loved staying for a longer amount of time in these poses. ... and I just saw me Aniother sweet baby. They Most Definitely help me stay engaged. Health wise , my health is not good . I have advanced stage cirrhosis of the liver. It was passed to meinutero at birth . Now I'm experiencing the complications ( physical and mental are many ) . But , as far as I am able I'm trying to stick to my yoga journey . Very relaxing! Your pace and long-held poses is just what I was looking for. I found the kneeling difficult for the twist pose. Could you provide an alternative for tight knees & quads? I'm subscribing to your page!
