Basically, this is Mac's version of Windows 8. Trying to be both a desktop OS and a tablet OS. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years we see an OS that will span both laptops and iPad Pro, similar to how Windows has gone. A lot of these updates actually look much more appropriate for touch, for example the Control Center having sliders and large tiles vs. small clickable buttons.

1- Dock and Menu Bar are not transparent they're solid!
2- Can't connect to Wi-Fi ( it says connected in the system preferences but in safari, it doesn't)
3- Some apps are not launching! ( I open them and they quit after I opened them in 2 seconds:(

Hi Dale, Thanks for producing a sneak peak of the new Mac OS. I usually don't leave a comment on these types of videos but Since this is a departure from Mac OSX, and when I say that I mean OS ex, not OS 10. I have been with apple for about 10 years now. I guess I really got hyped on mac in the days of the " hi I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC" commercials. To keep this brief, I always enjoyed and looked forward to the WWDC while Steve was still with us because of the new product launches Apple was famous for back then. Apart from the new laptop designs, there was the ipod touch, ipad, and iphone which I loved and couldn't wait to go out and get. But in recent years I feel that Apple has become less innovative only giving us updates and feature changes to what has already been developed. I don't get as excited as I once did when I couldn't wait for the latest WWDC release on RUclips to see what new product Apple was going to unveil. Maybe I have been watching too many Scifi movies recently like that TV show the Expanse where they show glass phones which have holographic images which you can expand and rotate or swiped to a wall display, and that is what I keep waiting for a company like Apple to unveil in an event like the WWDC sometime in the future. Maybe we are just not there yet in our technology. But getting excited on a new OS release just doesn't do it for me any more. Will I upgrade my macbook when the final OS 11 is available? Probably, but I don't think I would get the full benefits of it on my 2015 macbook. And I will continue to hope and wait for the day when Apple stuns the world again by being the first to introduce and new game changing product like the old days with Steve at the helm.

The battery symbol looks like it belongs on the first ever version of iOS..why would they do that if they’re looking to move forward?
It looks pretty cool though. I’m excited!
Also why am I so excited about the boot up chime?????? That’s literally the best part of this update (yes, I know it contradicts the earlier part of this comment)

It's in early beta, give it a chance! Apple still has to refine the design, there only basic features and basic designs which should be refined in the coming months.

Absolutely nothing of use to me. Happy with the look of the latest OS and it's been such a relief in recent times when on a commuter train, not to hear a chorus of MAX volume Macs start up shortly after the train has left each and every sodding station.

I love a lot of the new features. But Apple needs to get a new UI designer. The icons especially are awful.
