If you are trying to install macOS Big Sur, it can be found in the app store. Also, if you are on the Beta, you need to install this version too as it is different than the RC2 update.
How to get on Big Sur from rc2

I was literally 4 seconds into watching the full feature video from 9to5mac and then this notification popped down and I’m like, oh yes that’s more like it 😂
IF YOU ARE GETTING “installation failed” OR it’s taking a long time to download READ THIS.
i contacted apple customer service so you dont have to :). these problems are due to apple’s servers overwhelmed with the influx of users trying to download big sur, putting stress on the server. best thing to do rn is just wait till the server is fixed and try again AKA try again some other time
like so other people can see :)

Thank you Aaron. Very informative under 30 minutes. Great editing too. Now I can go ahead and update my MBP to Big Sur. I needed this info before I update so I know, or have an idea, of what Im getting in to. Great very focused video explains the most new features. Two thumbs up.
Don’t rush into the Big Sur before you are sure that all your video and photo editing tools are supported by this update. It’s a real pain going back to Catalina.

When clicking "reply" in a group, that message is visible to everyone - it's basically threading conversations.
Also if you type someone’s name it doesn’t just send them a private message it just alerts them that their name was said.
I was looking for a correction of that weird confusion between reply / quote / mention and a private reply. Thanks!

When I go to install the update I get an error that says "an error occurred while installing this update". I've tried everything and nothings working. Please help.
problem is solved now, it was a overload on the apple server....

I’ve been stuck on 377.5 MB for a while. I’ve stopped and started it , rest, and completely turned off my computer and nothing has helped. My internet is working fine. Any ideas on how to get passed this.

yeah same here in UK, i have a macbook pro 16 inch core i7 and 15 inch core i9, both are failing and bringing up so many weird errors. Downloads are failing with the same message!

Apple said that there would be new apps in the App Store. Is this for Big Sur or just M1 chip
Pretty sure Big Sur, and they were advertising it bc it is compatible with the M1
@@Luma_29 Its only for the M1 powered macs. The iPad and iPhone apps are compatible with the new macs because they are built on more or less the same foundation, and thats why it will work with no (or next to none) input from the developers
