Screen protectors are like helmets, they're meant to break to absorb the impact. That's also one of the reasons why a lot of screen protectors are quite cheap they're meant to break and be replaced so that way you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars for pairing your screen or having to buy a new phone altogether. Making an indestructible screen protector will just make the force of the impact go through the screen protector and directly onto the screen itself.

But how does breaking of glass consume energy? I view it as in medieval armour. Wool clothes block kinetic energy, steel blocks sharp attacks. So screen protector is like steel, and if it's resistant to kinetic attack, it also acts as wool. No?
@@koyadaone but how does it "spend" energy on destruction? Destruction isn't a physical process, it's our subjective view on things. Boiling is a physical (maybe even chemical) process, it "spends" energy to get from liquid to gas. How does "disruption of molecules getting so high it deforms an object" consume some energy? I can understand if it means that it spreads energy all over screen, preventing it from going further. But can we be sure that other screen protector doesn't do the same? It also can be good at spreading energy, just doesn't break from it. Can we be sure that cheap protectors aren't too easy to break, and they aren't consuming too little energy? Also, if phone were to fall on a sharp object, rock for an example, wouldn't sharp edge get through cheap protector and get to actual screen, while expensive would block that sharp damage?

In case anyone is wondering just like a helmet screen protectors are designed to break taking the damage instead of just sending the shockwave into your actual screen meaning your screen will break before this does not what you want a screen protector can be replaced for 8 dollars your screen is 200
I believe breakage is actually supposed to happen. The same principle is with a bicycle helmet. It's supposed to break so your head doesn't get smashed. It should be the same with a screen protector. The screen protector breaks and absorbs the shock of the impact. If the screen protector is that durable the screen will break before the screen protector does.
Gonna level with ya, I'll take the one that bounces over the one that cracks. Every time I broke a phone screen it hit something that cracked it, it didn't break from g force application like how a helmet is meant to protect.
This gentleman is correct. A screen protector is supposed to break when your phone falls, so as to absorb the energy of the fall in the same way as a helmet is supposed to. If it doesn't shatter, the screen will (speaking from knowledge as well as experience)
@shashwatjha2168 no the screen protectors for scratches not falls most cases petrude farther than the glass which already prevents the glass from falls (mostly) while screen protectors are for scuffs and scratches
Goddamn stop copying comments, that's only for helmets not cellphones, maybe it should be you 😂, it's called a screen protector, not the whole phone itself, it only protects the screen, Meaning it should even be used when it falls
With it being that durable, you'd think it just sends the shock to ur screen. But with it's flexibility, I think it could absorb a pretty big impact by vibrations
I think the most important part about this is that they didn't stop up to the point where their product "might" break but went further until it broke. It really gives more credibility to the quality, show the true limit of the durability (which is very good I gotta say), and basically helps you fully recognize what you're really going to have once you buy it
@@JustRandomLucks That's true to some degree. Mostly when buying a screen protector, you'd be normally looking for a flexible one that absorbs the shock and breaks, rather than a hard unbreakable one. However, this product is indeed flexible since it can bend, meaning that it won't break your phone and will act as a cushion. It's not unbreakable in the sense that it's very hard and solid, but rather because it nullifies shock much more efficiently. That's exactly what you'd want for a screen protector.
@@meowmeow5556 being elastic doesn't do anything. there's no space between the protector and the phone screen. all the energy is going to your screen. it's not a cushion, it won't get squeezed down and bounce back
Its the same concept as motorcycle helmets, the helmet / protector is meant to ABSORB THE DAMAGE specifically so the actual screen doesnt get hurt, which is why you replace the screen protector/helmet after its damaged.

"Your tempered glass vs Turboflex tempered glass💀🙏🏻"
In case anyone is wondering just like a helmet screen protectors are designed to break taking the damage instead of just sending the shockwave into your actual screen meaning your screen will break before this does not what you want a screen protector can be replaced for 8 dollars your screen is 200
I believe breakage is actually supposed to happen. The same principle is with a bicycle helmet. It's supposed to break so your head doesn't get smashed. It should be the same with a screen protector. The screen protector breaks and absorbs the shock of the impact. If the screen protector is that durable the screen will break before the screen protector does.
Yeah its an example of bullet proof glass i might be wrong 😅
Gonna level with ya, I'll take the one that bounces over the one that cracks. Every time I broke a phone screen it hit something that cracked it, it didn't break from g force application like how a helmet is meant to protect.
@justsomeguy6841 the force from the impact will go straight to the internals of your phone like that the break evenly distributed the force
It’s supposed to break to absorb the energy of the fall
Thats helmets in this case it actually works
Im preaty sure it still gone break non the less
Screen protectors dont protect against falls they protect against scratches
This gentleman is correct. A screen protector is supposed to break when your phone falls, so as to absorb the energy of the fall in the same way as a helmet is supposed to. If it doesn't shatter, the screen will (speaking from knowledge as well as experience)
@shashwatjha2168 no the screen protectors for scratches not falls most cases petrude farther than the glass which already prevents the glass from falls (mostly) while screen protectors are for scuffs and scratches
The good thing is that they showed that it can be broken but that they are very durable 👌🏾
Look at how easily he took that thing off

Screen protectors are supposed to break when they fall. They absorb the damage and protects screen. $8 is better.

Phone screens are like helmets they break to absorb the shock
The comment under yours has the same pfp as yours lol

Truuuuuuu
Meanwhile my friend's phone screen protector is there to protect him from glass shards.
Helmets dont break to absorb the shock, at most they bend slightly, and there's padding inside them to do that.
@@Obi-WanKannabis they break for large impacts like motorcycle accidents
Just what i needed, a phone screenprotector for when i need to slam my phone against hard objects
With it being that durable, you'd think it just sends the shock to ur screen. But with it's flexibility, I think it could absorb a pretty big impact by vibrations
I think the most important part about this is that they didn't stop up to the point where their product "might" break but went further until it broke. It really gives more credibility to the quality, show the true limit of the durability (which is very good I gotta say), and basically helps you fully recognize what you're really going to have once you buy it
But thats doesnt do shit screen protectors are meant to be broken to absorb the damage not be unbreakable and break the real screen instead
@@JustRandomLucks tbf tho he still broke it
@@JustRandomLucks That's true to some degree.
@@meowmeow5556 being elastic doesn't do anything. there's no space between the protector and the phone screen. all the energy is going to your screen.
it's not a cushion, it won't get squeezed down and bounce back
"it's meant to break"
Him:I literally broke it wdym
I like how they actually broke it so you know what your getting and it's real
"Your screen protector🤢🤮"
"Turboflex screen protector🤩"
Its the same concept as motorcycle helmets, the helmet / protector is meant to ABSORB THE DAMAGE specifically so the actual screen doesnt get hurt, which is why you replace the screen protector/helmet after its damaged.
Yeah just like a person with a helmet and a no helmet like protecting your head from a car using your helmet
