@@hunterjayfilm I turned it on on my MacBook Pro. You're right. They never "got rid of it". They just turned it off. Would have been nice if they just said that in the first place.

So glad to hear the classic chime is still there. I say “still there” because my current MacBook is from 2009. I’m upgrading later this year. It’s nice to know my old friend will still be with me.

Excellent video! I'm pretty excited for Big Sur now. But let's hope Apple devotes effort to making the OS more stable and faster than Catalina was.
I love Big Sur. The design overhaul is AWESOME. Except for the Messages and Battery icons, but hey, till date not even the 1st Public Beta of Big Sur has been released, so hopefully Apple will change SOME of the yucky icons before the final release to the public.
My Mac still does the startup chime. Although, I can’t remember if that’s due to a terminal command.
OMG last ‘Mac’ I used was the coloured iMac G3s way back in 1997 for school. Now I’m about to purchase my first ever Mac (mini) 2020 with the same start up chime? (Are you telling they stopped the chime all these years?)

Dark Mode how is it optimised and need to see complete darkness rather than having some greyness added to it. As I'm a great dark mode lover and i have kept it default so looking forward into it. Please try to make a short video on this maybe with other small features if macOS has.

Are they fixing the bug in "battery saver" that ironically actually drains your battery adding cycles to your battery?
My startup sound never went away (MacBook Pro mid 2015).

Hi, after big sur update 3 the battery shows battery service. The cycle on macbook pro is 245 and 98% health. What can I do?
I'm not sure who does the icon design at Apple, but looking at the Settings, Music even the battery icon (probably more) makes me believe they discarded the better versions of these icons. The OS is 2020, but the icons are from the 2000s imo.
they changed it on MacOS Big Sur Beta 3, the battery icon looks way better now 😂

I think the mouse should get a redesign on the mac. I find the traditional cursor a bit of an eyesore on top of the new simplified UI. They should make it somewhere between a traditional cursor and the ipad cursor.

I don’t know if this is a bug but the favourites icons in Safari aren’t centred at the top and instead are closer to the middle/ top left which doesn’t look right to me.
For Macs that didn’t had charging sound (like my 2015 13” Retina MacBook Pro), it added it too. Unfortunately, it removed the percentage of battery on menubar and on my Mac, I can’t set the clock to 24-hour format. Advanced formats configuration is broken and for me results in the System Preferences app simply becoming stuck.
I have a 2015 MBP 13’ and how is it performing? Can it handle the new OS? Is it smooth?

Is there a way to tweak the quality settings when you edit a video? Currently on ios if you make any change at all, such as trimming, the video gets massively compressed and there’s no way to adjust it. It’s a shame because this would be a great way to trim videos and save space.

Ok, I've had the start up chime on my mac since forever, It never went away! I just restarted my macbook pro (mid 2012, running latest catalina) and the chime is, as always, there for my ears to enjoy. Confused by the video announcing the return of something that never went away, I google the matter and find out that the chime has been "gone" since 2016! So, dear internet; hat pocket dimension am I stuck in?
It was removed on newer Macs.

Nice looking update to the GUI, but why does it still feel like Apple are delaying the unification of macOS & iOS: is there a hardware limitation or is it classic drawing it out because they can? DOI: Mac user for 16 years/iPhone user for 11.
I'm running 10.15.6 and the start up chime is on that os....so why did you just say that was put back on Mac OS 11....?
Tom T the sound has always been on my 2015 MacBook Air. Maybe Apple removed it from post 2015 macs.

The only thing that bothers me is lack of interaction of call window on mac. Have they changed it? I want to drag and drop it anywhere I want. Seriously, it takes up that corner and I can’t browse things.

Please check the column view in Finder. Has Apple finally fixed “Right Size All Columns Individually” option, so that columns automatically resize depending on the width of the folder/file name when browsing through various folders?
Right now all this right click feature does is adjusting the width of only one column ones and than that width remain the same for all other columns even if nested folder has very short file names in it.
Browsing files in column view in Finder has been a disaster for years now. ForkLift mostly does the job but is not good enough as a full Finder replacement. It is simply time for Apple to fix this annoying bug.

Hopefully they fix the glitch where it’s full screen on Apple TV and QuickTime and gets terrible black flickers and glitching!!

I don’t know why I can’t drag and drop the crescent moon for the Do Not Disturb icon - I want to move it to the upper right hand side - instead of the left side that it’s at!!

@@V8LC100 Most likely Final Cut Pro. I see it in their dock and could see them using that over Adobe because…Apple. If not, it can definitely do it.

Fix to battery service message power off your computer and start it up while pressing "Command + Option + P + R", it will reset the PRAM and solve the issue. my MacBook Pro 16" has only 40 cycles and saying 98% now... but at-least its not saying service recommended.
It's beautiful, but... I like the Yosemite interface more.
Not sure if I like the new design better than the old one... but still, I enjoy the change!
Tried two essential third party apps so far. Both of them fail.. developers report a complete rebuild is needed for them to work. A long way to go yet
The design is pretty great. It looks futuristic and consistent. It finally feels like an OS of the 21st century. Although those icons need a lot of work, I don’t think using consistent shape and the “3D” feel on the dock and other icons is a bad idea necessarily but they are not exploring it correctly, they are pretty bad.
If they fix that to feel as modern as the rest of the pa the general experience will probably feel more profesional.

Just updated to the beta, im really not loving the new design. And I cant connect my bluetooth headphones now! I have to plug it in which is a big problem to me. I skipped Catalina cause people had big problems with it

i fell in love with the icons ever since i saw them during the event. neumorphism is official everybody! I’m pretty sure apple will continue working on the design uniformity of the icons and i would not be surprised to see them on ios 15.

I just hate some of the icons. Also, some stuff seem touch oriented. I only updated because of 4k RUclips since now my CPU can rest due decoding being avertible. It is fine for what it is, but it doe snot not seem that polished.
