Struggline to find any information about the biggest feature of Big Sur, ios app compatibility.Will this work with the big sur update, or only new silicon laptops with big sur? Have yet to find a definitive answer for that but sfor sure I know imessage and safari got an update.
What model Mac is this running on? I have an older-base model Mac and this looks like it'll lag on my machine.

Kun Aguero probably maybe because it’s on a VM or maybe some editing problem.
Would be very interested in how this looks with "Reduce Transparency" turned on (in Accessibility). I use it in Mojave / Cata and it's way better to my eyes.

So I just bought a MacBook this week and since this is Gona be the new OS “big sur” soon, I’m feeling like downloading the beta but I don’t know if it’s Gona have issues since I mainly use adobe Ps and Pr and Final Cut Pro to edit and potential bugs, basically instead of getting use to the OS now I’d rather just have the new one and vibe with it? Anyone else downloaded the beta and what’s it been like? Thank you

I wonder if Apple is ever going to fix the memory leak in Mail. It's not in my database because I get the issue on 2 different machines. Both have had clean installs and re-add all my email accounts. As it is, I can only run Mail for about 30 minutes before it starts slowing down my machine. If I quit and restart Mail, I'm good for another 30 minutes. I've tried filing a bug, but like most big companies, there's no response on the issue.

Can you guys rebrand? The "ai" reminds me of the adobe illustrator file extension .ai. Why don't you take the apple logo and just add an open door to the apple? So that theres a door to the apple that leads you inside. Apple Inside?

no, because intel and apple designed it
Yeah, USB4 will have Thunderbolt 3 as a subset of the protocol. So no longer needs Intel Silicon to have those speeds.

@@arvind31459 If Apple themselves called their new CPUs architecture "Apple Silicon" in their Keynote, why shouldn't people be using that term? I think Apple was simply trying to differentiate their new CPUs from the ARM architecture. From what I can gather, they're similar but not exactly the same when compared to the CPUs they use their iPhones and iPads. Hence the term Apple Silicon.
I like the App design, I miss Skeuomorphism a lot and this really mixes well with flat design. Well done Apple 🤍

is the widgets… the new dashboard? When was that nixed? Mojave? High Sierra? I can’t remember since I quit using it due to no good third-party widgets. Widgets aren’t new. I don’t understand the hype.
My hope with "Big Sur" is that it keeps it's UNIX underpinnings at it's core. Also allow for development of things light Apache Web server open source software on this platform. Know it might be a pipe dream.

Did Apple actually do any testing so far? VM Fusion, SuperDuper! Plus a jigsaw program called Jigsaws Galore all fail to work. The only 3rd Party app I tried so far that runs is World of Warcraft. So not impressed up to now. I know it is only a beta but some things should work

I think Apple screwed up with the control center on macOS. These long horizontal bars make no sense for mouse input: too much travel. Also the menu bars and icons are spaced out too much. Seems almost they are going for touch on desktop, which would suck.

If your showing off the look of a new OS to people, doing it exclusively in dark mode is a stupid choice.

Great video production though the voiceover is very nasally and every few sentences or so you'll spit a phrase out that I just couldn't understand, almost like the tempo suddenly but briefly speeds up. Hope this is constructive I enjoyed the video otherwise but felt very distracted.

Apple programming fail of the day. Couldn’t send email from any Apple product using iCloud email address. Been like this for years. Decided to swap my Apple ID from my gmail address to my iCloud email address. Big mistake. Can’t sign in to iCloud any more on my MacBook Pro. Now contacts disappeared, email disappeared, music is screwed up, messages app now lost all contact information and added hundreds of threads that I’d previously deleted. Called Apple. Two hours on hold and the idiot girl hung up on me when I was explaining the issue (no attempt to call me back like every senior operator says they actually do, but never do). Then senior rep has no idea what’s wrong... again. Senior operators are incompetent and don’t know and are not trained. They read articles and rarely solve any issues. Why am I paying for Apple iCare. Apple is motivated to keep programming errors because it forces people to buy iCare+ but now they can’t even fix anything. And on hold for two hours when every employee is at home because the retail stores are closed? Wtf! They are sitting on huge cash reserves and won’t hire more operators. Pathetic.
