because WWDC is about developers having 1 on 1 time with experts too.
This is great for the people at home, but I suppose that it's not the same for journalists and developers.
Hmm, then how about just renting a space for Q&A and some show rooms that journalists can go into? I'm sure those areas will be used anyways, but why the need to set up for auditorium if you can do this?
It just seems there's a lot of room for streamlining
I honestly really liked how the event was presented. It wasn't awkward, it kept moving without the audience applauding, and the production values are great. They should keep doing this

I feel this way about nintendo directs vs other live presentations. The direct will never be as hype as a really great live presentation, but it will always have good flow, good timing and transitions etc. A bad live presentation can be such an awkward trainwreck

I agree, the only big negative is we’ll miss all the spontaneous things that happen when preforming live in front of audiences. The face unlock or Tesla’s window incident comes to mind.

I didn’t watch this because I watched the keynote, but i love how they’re putting all apps in check with privacy and making it super transparent and hard for sketchy apps to hide what they’re tracking
But don’t seem to have that third option Android has with location “only allow when using app” which is very important to me.

I think it’s because they are separating health and fitness more. Activity is a part of being healthy. But fitness is more of a focus on fitness. Obviously it’s still apart of being healthy but it makes each side of things more specific to their function

TheFlash Rocks you don’t have to be a developer to update to the beta version of iOS 14; there’re tons of configuration files on the Internet. To be honest, I haven’t tried the latest version of Siri but I wouldn’t use it in everyday life anyway. I believe it’s not there yet.

I actually prefer the lack of goons clapping for every non-innovation they announce, but it is admittedly very odd that they still deliver it as if there’s thunderous applause for everything.

As much as u Assdroid users want that to be the case, it’s not. Just because you have root access to an inferior OS (Android) doesn’t make it comparable to iOS. Assdroid OS is a sloppy mess with 100 scattered versions. All with major security flaws.

The fact they are requiring devs to "self report" makes me question how much TikTok will be sweating...maybe this will work out how one would hope it does, but I also imagine there will be tons of shadier apps who's devs will not be self-reporting with full transparency what data they are gathering.

Was definitely underappreciated and ahead of it's time. The Metro tile aesthetic especially worked well on Windows Phones and also married well with the geometric designs of their handsets.
The privacy features deserve more respect. The vague location thing in particular.

Apple is making iOS more android like BUT still has the cohesiveness, ecosystem and long term system updates. I’m happy with Apple for the first time in a long time.

It just shows how there are a lot of similarities between these OSes, but people would still rather fight about who does it better or who did it first. I've enjoyed many of the features I've seen in this update on my Android for years, but the fact is whatever is good on one OS will inevitably end up on the other. I still far prefer the flexibility and personalization of Android - that iOS home screen is so overdue for an overhaul - but the core of these systems are both exceedingly capable, and more similar to one another than "fans" of either side would like to admit.

Looks just as irrelevant as it did back then and continues to be now, since pretty much all 3rd party apps like RUclips and Netflix suppress the pic in pic feature, or lock it behind a pay wall. Only time it’s useful for vids is on webpages, and I’m not really watching YT from the .com

I'm so glad that AirPods Pro are getting that Spatial Audio, especially the compatibility with higher audio channels. The AirPods Pro were a bit of a mess but they've been really good for a month or so. Hope its compatible with the PS5 lol.

Apple really dropped an "I don't wanna play with you anymore" on Intel
Moving to ARM-based inhouse chip has been the trend for years. It allows the companies better control of the development process. Plus ARM-chip allow for sleaker devices with less heating issue. Processing capabilities is limited on ARM chips but that won't affect casual users much. Microsoft did it with the surface pro x. Intel probably saw this coming years ago. ARM is not their turf. It would be interesting to see how Intel adapt to this new trend.
Microsoft has been working on ARM compatibility for Office for a while now. It's not that hard for them to include ARM macOS in the dev process. It's a win-win move for both companies.

I think it might have to do with different color profiles, where some profiles are able to display more colors, but they are used less often, so glitches might happen when they are translated between each other.
This was great, no over the top audience clap after every announcement

For years, there are widgets on iPhone but in today view only . What's new to iOS 14 is now it's on homescreen. Widget is not really new in iOS.
