    Great video, just a heads up I found that if you double tap and hold the eq dot with one finger it lets you change the Q without the point moving up or down. I find it more convenient than the 2 finger method. Cheers✌🏾

    human greed is a specimen of its own, koala is not supposed to overwhelm you like a full fledge daw but its effective enough to be a daw thats the point of the dev, good job at pointing that out lol

    • @thekeysman6760
      @thekeysman6760 Год назад +2

      I think the point of the dev is to keep it like the MPC hardware or the Boss SP-303. The sequencers of these are more basic than a daw. Daws aren't "supposed to overwhelm you", they are supposed to have all the facilities we have expected of them for the last 25+ years, which include facilities for other production mediums too. Coming from Logic since the 90s, the Koala sequencer is just fine for this stuff imo. And we're spoilt with bonuses like the stem algorithm! 😁

    Koala is fine the way it is. The eq is perfect.

    Im with you my friend, i love the simple and amazing koala, lots of people needs would be solved if they work in ableton, koala is a sampler, it would be a shame if it looses its dna, i have maschine, ableton and a couple other tools, but for some reason koala triggers some cool creativity in me, without having to spend a lot of money and time learning a new workflow with things like the sp404.

    • @nervouscooks
      @nervouscooks  Год назад +4

      Yeah absolutely. If it evolves beyond a point it would just become another DAW with too much choice/options. I’ve got Ableton for when I want to get lost in plugins and technical stuff. Koalas genius it’s down to its simplicity. Don’t get me wrong there’s room to evolve but I think it should evolve carefully and keep its spirit! 👍

    Do you have any tips for mixing? My mix sounds alright in koala but as soon as I export a scene, especially low end starts clipping.

    • @nervouscooks
      @nervouscooks  Год назад +2

      I find if I want to do any serious mixing I still stem out to Ableton or similar. The only things I can think of would be watch your overall volume. You can definitely clip out if everything is too loud. Maybe bring all your pads/sequences down a bit for the headroom. The other thing would be to bring in a few tracks you like from other artists that you think are mixed well, open up the EQ and take a look at the spectrum. There’s no freeze but you could probably take a screenshot whilst it’s playing and just look at what db/frequencies are like. Then you can try and get your own track to have a similar frequency range. It is very tricky in Koala to get that last mix right. I don’t want Koala to be flooded with new features but a standard mixing window with sliders and db meters would be great for checking levels. 🙂

      @@nervouscooks Thank you so much for your tips, I appreciate it! :) I totally agree - the limitations in Koala are exactly why I love this app. A small 8 channel mixer would be awesome though haha

    Why not use the ipad in landscape? then the pads will be square again and guess will line up again but i guess in the future the theme3s wont line up in horizontal vs vertical.

      It doesn't really matter. The audio will be the same for 60fps and only his hand movements would be a bit smoother, doesn't worth the cost of upgrading cameras just for that.
