    Or the cheat technique could be to get your bpm as close as possible to your 4 bar loop, and then apply Stretch. If you're close anyway, the algos won't mash the sonics of the loop too bad.

      @nervouscooks  Год назад +3

      Yeah that’s a good point. You can definitely stretch without too many issues if it’s close! 👍

      @@nervouscooks That was a long bit of slow audio though, so over 4 bars it may make it sound like bad, early Ableton Live warping, I don't know. Probably safer to use this technique with 1 or 2 bar, and/or faster material. And again, requires an accurate start & end point edit as possible, to eliminate unwanted stretching and squashing.

      @@thekeysman6760 to be fair Koalas time stretching isn’t too bad. It’s not (new) Ableton good but it would get you by in a pinch. I very rarely time stretch or use straight up loops but someone asked if I could explain it. I’m sure there is probably loads more options to work it out. That’s what I love about being on here though is that we can all share advice and techniques. I’ve learnt a lot just from the comments 👍🙂

      @@nervouscooks Of course, your chop was perfect because you included that last little off-beat 16th. If somebody had cut that beat and told koala it was 4 bars, it will make up for that missing 16th by stretching either over the whole lot or maybe just from the last beat, I'm not sure. Either way, the first algo of the 4 which is the one that changes the character the least, will mess up the sample in some way that sounds bad. Timing, tone, artifacts. Unless you want that early Ableton sound!

      For anyone who doesn't know, the benefits after stretching are pitching the sample whilst retaining tempo, (and doing some resampling!), and changing project bpm whilst staying synchronised.

    When all else fails, resample the loop 1,2, or 3 times with the Cutter Fx, add Reverb and Delay, and use the loop as an Fx.
    Some samples have tricky cadences that begin at the end of a bar. So sometimes I set the number of bars I want in a sequence and ramp the tempo up or down until it loops seamlessly (or nearly so). At this point I might apply time stretch.

    thanks for the lesson, you learn so much! in a tutorial you explained that you can use the stretch function to adjust it to the nearest bpm. I use it a lot when recording guitar for my lofi songs🙏👍

    i have a question about pitch. if you increase the pitch, does it mess with the temp of the song? and if so, how do you adjust it to where it fits? thank you so much

      You can list the bugs on the Facebook group and the guy who develops it will see it! It’s worth doing as it helps everyone else out having the same issue. 👍

    Koala is a show but there is a problem with every project it saves only in audio, it should have an option to save in video
