I like making a 4 bar drum loop, applying chance, doubling up to 48 bars and then auto chopping to get a variety of loops to choose from (I wouldn't be American if I didn't end my sentences with a preposition).
After watching all your tutorials I finally learned things that were previously incomprehensible to me. I immediately started experimenting in koala and ableton...fantastic! Hope to see your next super tutorial. Congratulations for your channel, your works are very inspiring. Thank you.
Great tutorials, clear and helpful! Is there a way to mute a pad in such a way that I can hear it but it won’t get resampled? For example I want to play and resample some chords along to my drum loop but I don’t want the drums to be recorded. I know I could work around this with the sequencer but I’m curious if some mute mode allows this..
Thank you, so you want to be able to hear the beat but only record audio from the chords by resampling? Then no I don't think there are any muting options to allow this. As you said you would need to record your chords into the sequencer and then solo and resample from there. You could do it if your use AUM as a host and route Koala through AUM. Episode 18 of my tutorials goes into how to set that up. 👍
@@yamyite I think you could make jungle on it no problem. At the end of the day it’s just a different BPM. As for the packs, it only comes with a few samples to get you started but just google free sample packs, or check Reddit too. There are loads of free samples knocking about plus sampling from RUclips and Spotify etc. 👍
Thanks, I’ve only been able to make them for iOS at the moment and I’m not making anymore until I’m sure there aren’t going to be any big updates for a while as I had to fix the ones I’d previously made. 🙂
I'm fairly experienced and knew most of this for koala but this is a great resource for new users. Good work man.
Thanks, that’s generally who this is aimed at. It’s good to cover the basics. 👍

I work the same way. I agree the velocity and tone is crucial to give the drums a more human feel.
Very helpful and well done ❤

How do you think Koala lends itself to making jungle?
Also is there somewhere to get packs? Or everything just what you sample and build up?
