They key is to find songs that are loop friendly, preferably the same chords for the song and verse
For a master, it is simple, for a beginner, it is very challenging, so your advice to start simple is key to becoming a master. :)
To go simple as possible I purchased a Boss Cube street it has a simple looper that is foot pedal controlled plug mic and guitar in and hit the street.
What's the difference between this and Ableton live?
This is absolute gold advice. I am a great believer in keeping things simple. Too many effects etc can lead to option paralysis, by limiting your palette you will be more productive and inventive. Only add what is essential.

Got introduced with the Boss RC505 Mk2 because of Marc Rebillet but when I found your channel I got convinced this could be something for me.
