You explode well too, great job.
Actually, your singing was pretty special, too! Great collaboration.
So awesome that you had rachel on this video! i follow you both and use ableton for production and am a guitarist so this is like a dream video for me!
brother I know you guys hate self promotion so Im sorry but making covers take real long to make so I'd really appreciate a watch on mine. I understand if its too much to ask but thanks so much if you do : D

"If you don't make choices, nothing happens, it stays too vague" - Life advices from Paul Davids. 🤙
Best advice I heard from him.
Agree! I sat down the other day thinking maybe I'll try to write something n couldn't decide on a progression I like n ended up getting no where >.
Commit commit commit! Love this, thanks for reaffirming this mantra
Prince had the same concept. It's worth a watch. He was a musical genius! Oh....and could play a majority if not all in his songs. A legend no doubt!
This felt like a Rick Beato's "What Makes This Song Great" episode in reverse.
Good one 😆
Lol
Rick needs too
This comment is perfect.
Great song this makes what
This guy made me realize that being happy with my own playing and music is the purest form of musicality, and has brought me significantly further than the "i have to beat that guy" attitude
1:20 - "Just 4 chords isn't really a thing"
My entire RUclips channel - *cries*
🤣
😂😂
Hey Andy!
Dang
"I'm not in touch with my feelings so I can't write lyrics..." Great lyrics ...
^... I might need to steal that...
Lol
"Letting it loop 1000 times before you decide it's time to move on to something different..." WOW did that hit home hard! 😂
Therapist: Rockstar Paul isn't real, he can't hurt you
Rockstar Paul: 0:08
Love the song by the way, can't stop listening!
He's hotter when he's in rockstar mode not gonna lie, I mean he's hot in any mode but rockstar mode is my favorite.
I want a tutorial to have that beard
I want it that too hahaha

@@joegarrison5911 Dammit. Right from the start, I failed
He is dutch though, lmao
First you need to start puberty.. 😁
Paul: "And now my favourite part"
Rachel: *stops singing*
Yeah, I noticed the same... lol
😂🤣😂 thought the same
Such a guy comment. 😄 You can almost hear the stuttered apology while she is stalking off.
Whoever moved the RUclips comments needs to be fired.
I low key agree
Yeah! It is very annoying now...
Fired? Please someone punch that punk for this useless update.
Please don't get offended, just a joke.
@@niilonevalainen2884 that why i was using the old version
Surely it's only a matter of time before they fix it!

Mind Blowing
one very worthwhile tip to add - COPY your loop each time and then do any further additions to the copy, keeping the original.
That way you can go back and do things differently if you decide several layers later that you took a wrong turn.
Paul looks GENUINELY sooooo happy when he's listening to this song..... It's good to see peeps proud of there skills. And quite right. Nice work dude... It's a CHUAN..... Really enjoying your vidz.... I've got a ton to watch coz I've only just found your channel.........
The amount of joy that spread through my body when I saw this notification is insane! Great video as always Paul!
0:27 "Letting it loop for 1000 times". I call that 'the intro'
After every video of yours I watch, I come out feeling enriched as a musician. I can barely keep up with all the new input I'm getting from you and trying stuff out but above all all else it's this zen Feeling of being in what we do you get across. Thank you for that!
Your videos are so inspiring! Been playing guitar for 10 years on and off and finally taking it seriously, learning to loop and enjoying the process wholeheartedly. Yours and Rachel's videos inspire me to keep going with it. Thank you!
Classy choice of chords in the first place but then what you did with it was epic - I really wasn't expecting it to go down this particular route but I'm so glad it did. Amazing video again Paul!
Damn this song is stuck in my head for days now. Amazing outcome as always, congrats Mr. Paul!
This song needs to be played on the radio
Paul, you look so happy and that makes me happy. Ive never seen you this happy!! Woooo!
Love seeing you enthusiastic over the song - A for effort!
Wawwww.. Paul keeps giving us the secret to maintain the guitar fresh and alive. 🎸 Thanks Paul
Came here from RKC, loved this video and subscribed, now going to watch your others. You inspired me to want to play guitar again (after 7 years of not), as soon as things go back to normal I'm getting my guitars out of storage. Thanks 🙏🙌
Go from one looping level to another? Easy.
Add more lights.
SLAP the synth. EPICO!

1:19 - _"Just four chords isn't really a thing."_ -- wait, what?!
Thanks! I really, really needed this. I'm always getting as far as getting the basic structure of my loop, and starting to add things...and then I get sick of it and shelve it. My sketch library is full of these little things that I never want to go back and finish.
I'm going to take the lessons from this and push through.
This could actually be on the radio. Groeten uit België
Impressive, I must say. Especially when knowing that it's basically the same 4 chords over and over again.
The only thing I'd have loved to hear more about is Song Structure, as imo this whole "you build up tension untill the chorus" doesn't apply to all music. F.e. in Metal, the focus sometimes is more on the riffs or lead guitars and not necessarily solely on the chorus.
But hey, still gonna boot up Cubase now and experiment a bit, thanks for the inspiration :D
"Just finish stuff" - best advice ever
Great job Paul! ... And yes, Rachel is awesome!!!
Crazy stuff, man! It looks so dope and easy what you are doing. But I guess this is just years of experience... and huge portion of talent. Great techniques, cool song.
Hello Paul. ! I don't speak English and use google for translations which are hopefully correct, but I can understand the theme of your videos. I love everything you do. Images and sounds of the videos are of excellent quality. You are super well equipped in materials and I envy you. Good teacher, you are also open to several musical styles that I appreciate. I really like your musical compositions, your loops. Keep it up, it's always a pleasure to watch your videos. Thank you.
Paul, you are more than ready for prime time. On stage, On stage, On stage !
Dude, you killed it. She is amazing! I'm jamming it now and will spread it! Love all of it, from the process to the final product, fun video and great song man! Very inspiring!
as this piece has progressed, it has filled up with Treble !
Love your videos Paul! Will for sure be using these tips 🧙
One of the most interesting video I ever seen! You are talant! Thx 4 lesson, man. That hook stuck in my head :D
Great Job Paul and Rachel!
Gotta call the hot girl on facetime, better put on my cool denim jacket
Peacocking actually works my dude
That tele sounds amazing!
Hope you published that song man. That sounds amazing!
Inspiring to eventually go this route and have some more fun in guitar. I think my 10yr break from it was worth it since I got in half ass the first time but really feeling fresh about starting over the right way.
Love the content.
You are amazingly talented, thank you for sharing this. Respect 🙌👊
I can’t get that hook this song out my head. I was humming it and singing it at the supermarket when this tall blond woman approached me in produce and said, “OH MY GOD! Isn’t that Paul Davids from his legendary RUclips clip ‘GUITAR LOOPING to an actual SONG’?” Im like, “ah yeah.” Ten years later we have three lovely children and that tall blond was Taylor Swift. Thank you
Bought the track. Loved the song!! I’m a huge The Midnight and Starcadian fan and this definitely fits into my listening style. Thank you Paul!!
I love loopimg and playing guitar I also like playing fifa on the ps5 and this tune just fits the fifa tunes kind of vibe love it this song should be in the next fifa game good 1 paul
You make everything seem so easy!
Paul giving gold tip as aways, thanksss !!!
That’s crazy I literally just bought a prophet synthesizer, and here I am seeing Paul use one woaaaaah
HUMBLENESS IN PERSON. Amazing 🎯
Acoustic guitar -> portable amp -> looper pedal = awesome. If you really want to make some money as a street artist thats the way to go. You can use the guitars body to make beats, then slap in the bass part and then do the chord progression. Once youre set up switch to lead channel with some crunch and reverb and the possibilities are endless!
right after this video I found myself whistling this song!!
paul, you are an insanely hard working and talented video producer and musician. Thanks for the videos, they are inspirational, and so good!!!!
Great, now I have to get groceries since this is stuck in my head now. Thanks Paul! I love looping!
This is SO amazing Paul, thank you for all the incredible work and showing us the process!
From Argentina.
beautiful !!!
They are wonderful !!
Looper pedal tip: If you have "headphone out" in your keyboard or whaterver instrument, you can use that with regular guitar cable to a looper. All you need is little cheap adapter in between. You can also sing straight to a looper pedal with xlr female/normal guitar jack -cable. So you can beatbox, sing or do other voices into a loop. I've done awesome soundscapes straight to a guitar amp trough a normal little looper pedal using guitar, keyboards, bass and voice. Try it. Sky is the limit!
Thanks Paul for showing us the birth of a great song. And what a great contribution of Rachel K Collier! F A N T A S T I C
Absolutely amazing. Inspiring aswell, although I still suck at guitar I feel to urge to try some things myself.
Also I see what you did there with the "slap"😉
One of the most interesting things in guitar, in my opinion is to play with looper :)

Another great video Paul!
Paul...you are such an inspiration to me...! Love playing guitar, but it's hard to get into the practice... BUT this kind of pure content always makes me grab my guitar and play!
Love you and your channel Paul!
Wat een baas! Genieten om met je mee te mogen kijken! Keep it up man!
Nice tune!......now it´s stuck in my head....
Paul suited up to that phone call 😂 Great content. Thanks ✌🏻
My favorite dutch youtuber
Downloaded Sugar Coated and have played it on repeat. Great tune!
Paul, you really love the synths!! I love em too!
how to avoid endless looping ? by saving a second phrase on another bank as a sort of chorus and switching from bank A to bank B verse-chorus style. and that's it, you're free. You can always save a bridge on bank C. I have that feature on the BOSS RC-3
What a great lesson on how to work with looped parts. That helped me a lot! And the track is amazing!
Great track. That harmony at 9:08 is sweet!
Btw. The frets on that tele looks so delicious!
This is fantastic! Also check out Marc Rebillet, he also loops a lot, only with a mixing board and whatever tools he brought with him.
Paul, you're a slapper! Epico! 😂
*s l a p p*
Just downloaded on my apple playlist. Awesome work. Love it!
Hi Paul Davids! Can you make a video about jazz tips?
Perfect timing! I just got my first electric guitar and a looper pedal about a week ago and am trying to make a song out of a loop
Awesome! I think adding a tip of Collaborate with someone, would be great! Even if you can do everything yourself having another artist give their spin can take a song to a whole new level that you might not have thought of!
Make decisions quickly and stick with them. THAT'S WHAT I NEEDED, A SLAP IN THE FACE.
I am working on my first song ever (old geezer, COULD HAVE been famous), but I am encountering the same problem I always dealt with, I have TOO MANY ideas for melodies, hooks, etc.
So I'm just going to do it, and let it come out as it will.
"make a decision and stick with it" - TedX can't be far from here
Just found it on Amazon unlimited, nice one!
Good luck mate!
Studio looks killer!
love the piece by piece explanation and build up. finished article is now on my playlist, and have subscribed to Rachel K's channel.Love your channel, thanks Paul
Such an amazing song, and it was nice to see how it was constructed. Paul, you do a great job explaining your methods and demystifying songwriting. I CANNOT get the the hook out of my head. Darn you!!! :^D
Hi Paul, thanks for your videos, COVID-19 and your videos have inspired me to pick the guitar again after almost of 20 years in hybenation, I even splashed and bought a Fender Telecaster because of your older videos! I am very much enjoying learning about music again 20 years ago. Still can't get over how easy it is to record nowadays, just a laptop, recording software, an audio interface, double tracking and panning and boom, song sounds great! Having said that, I still can't find a plugin that mimics a good ol' fashion valve amp, maybe i'm just old fashion and like to hear the gritiness of value amps through recordings. Anyways, I bid farewell to my Tascam 4 track tape recorder from the 1990s... No more making mistake bouncing the wrong tracks and have to ask my band mates to re-record their parts!
DOVYDAS: hold my beer
Ps
The song is epic, well done
Two great videos for anyone interested in writing and recording. Great sounding finished song well done to the two of you. Hope it succeeds for you.
OMG Paul Davids are a SLAPPER 😱😱
Been doing Looper songs a lot lately. Biggest problem is to find nice lyrics, but I hope that becomes easier with more practice
Thanks for all of your GREAT tips and INSIGHTS.
Great suggestions - and love your pedal board! Also that Hook amp!!! 😍
exactly at 0.07 aftrer i show ur craziness i press the like button haha
That is gonna be very helpful. Thank you sir!
Cool tune. I'm in the same boat as you with needing to find a vocalist for my tracks. I'm gonna have do that!!
I love this song you both created!!
Seriously dude, your berad is amazing.
No bass guitar made this bassist a little sad. But that is a great video. Thank you, Paul.
I slapped LIKE as soon as I saw “SLAP”.
But I would have slapped like anyway, great video, great tips, GREAT SOLO!! Thanks, Paul!
Very helpful...Thanks Paul
