I have as little as possible on my counters but must haves are the toaster, coffee maker , paper towels and veggie basket. These are used everyday. Some all day (other than coffee maker. My butter is in a cabinet above the toaster 😊 The sink has a kitchen cleaner (in a clear glass container) and a scrub daddy.

I grew up putting butter in the fridge, and even did so during most of my married life. But after a visit to my husband’s cousin and his wife, I now keep it on the counter! She told me as long as it’s out of direct sunlight, it’s fine to sit out! I love having soft butter!
I keep my countertops clear for the most part.

I keep my coffee pot, toaster, tea saucer and spoon, and dish soap and drainer on the counters. My microwave is on top of the oven and my cutting boards are hung. But I also have a piece of pottery in each corner and a small picture to hide a plug. That's it, and life is pleasantly simple. There are always three food prep spots available to use for actual cooking.

I keep a vase of flowers and a covered white cast iron baker with some daily tea making things inside on one side and on the other side a kitchen scale for weighing sourdough starter twice a day and a tray with two expresso cups and a coffee press. The regular coffee maker stays as hidden as possible next to the fridge because my husband doesn't want to be getting into cabinets to make coffee. No appliance garage. My Kitchen Aide is on a roll cart in another room and I bring it to the kitchen when I need it. Having very little on my counters is a new thing since we put in new countertops and backsplash. Small house, open plan.

I'm all for less on the counters! Clutter is such a magnet for more clutter.

Ooh, I like that metal sponge holder. I have two utensil containers, it's ridiculous. We hardly use them. After watching your video I have decided one of those containers has got to go! Thanks!

I put butter in the fridge, but I like it on the counter and wonder if it spoils. Thanks so much for this helpful video. I am in the middle of reorganizing my kitchen and it looks like a bomb went off. I am emptying every drawer and cabinet. I realize I don 't make fast decision so everything I don't know what to do with ends up in a draw. I am ending up with too many junk drawers and no place to put things. I love to cook and have a small kitchen. I have also put the house on Airbnb this year. Looking at my kitchen through other people's eyes is horrifying. I want to start cooking for Christmas and am also getting ready to leave it to another family. I want them to have a good experience and not have to deal with my junk drawers. It is helpful to think of things in zones as I often have a paper forest on my counter tops. If you were here, I would hire you. Thanks for the video!

Butter on the counter. I don’t really want it there, but you can’t spread it if it’s in the fridge.

Butter on the counter, until summer. Because it's hard to spread melted butter, and also, it tastes funny 😂

Love it! I’ve never had mine melt on the counter but I’m the winter sometimes I wake up and it’s frozen (opposite problem haha!)
