    Finding your videos so helpful and inspiring. I used to have so much more out on the kitchen side but now I just have the essentials. My sugar canister got smashed and my immediate thought was to replace it with another full set of three and then I realised no one in our house adds sugar so I’ve just kept the tea and coffee. It sounds silly when I say it like that but it’s a mind shift; realising what you actually need versus what you’ve been conditioned to think is ‘necessary’. Thank you for the great videos x

    Watched your videos for years and always enjoyed them and got a lot from them, but absoltuely LOVING your latest ones!
    I cleared out my pots + pans and swopped 3 single pots for 1 pot and 2 steamer layers and glass lid (from IKEA) its great. Use the steamer layers for draining tatties/washing fruits, so got rid of the collinder! Bonus!
    Have a great weekend!

    During Covid, was when I began to declutter. I started in my kitchen because that’s the closest and the easiest to start with. I got rid of a number of things that I did not use and also went through my drawers and cabinets to deal with the duplicates.

    Lovely points. I replaced my sandwich maker, waffle maker and GF grill with a sage grill. Well worth the investment. Plates are removable and so easy to clean and replaceable if needed.

    You gave some great ideas.. I am in the process of decluttering and organizing I just bought 2 beautiful credenza's with shelves and beveled glass doors. Michaels had a sale yesterday Buy 1 Get 2 Photo Boxes free and I am picking up things labeling the boxes and getting things organized each credenza will hold 12 boxes. I had some old printable business card labels that I am sticking in each slot saying what is in it.. Emergency Prep things all go in one flashlights, batteries, solar charger in one, Sewing Supplies, Stationary etc so everything is organized and easy to find. Thanks for sharing, it was inspiring. I decluttered inherited crocheted potholders, I only want silicone potholders. kitchen towels that are too small - I hang one full-size bath towel on my oven door. Gadgets I ended up not using (garlic smasher, strawberry de-stemming tool, etc).

      I worry about the slow cooker if I need to leave the house. The Instant Pot is quick, stops cooking, and keeps food warm when I get home. Same for the rice cooker. My 2 must haves. Do they make automatic cook to warm slow cookers?

    Hope that you don’t take it as criticism, but aluminiumfoil is actually so much worse for the environment than plasticwraps. Or even reusable siliconewraps + if the food is acidic you really should not use aluminium to cover it up. I dont have any written source in english, only danish so I cant refer to it. ❤️

    • @madelinehegedus
      @madelinehegedus  3 месяца назад +5

      This is so interesting. It's the first time I've heard this. Everywhere I've read so far says aluminium foil is much better than cling film, as aluminium is fully recyclable. Most of the time we use our glass containers anyway. But this is intriguing, I'll look into it. Thanks for watching, Christine!

    • @momof4loves842
      @momof4loves842 3 месяца назад +1

      Fabric bees wax is much better if at all possible. Aluminum foil is recyclable at least here in the states, but there’s been several studies showing it is not really safe to wrap your food in.
      I do have plastic wrap, wax paper and foil-but only use as a last resort. I line the foil with wax paper, if I need to use foil. The beeswax fabric is great, obviously cannot use for liquid or gelled items. I also use glass containers as well. Love your video. Thank you! ❤
