You are sure right. I miss my MawMaw so much; she practically raised us, and we talked almost every single holiday after I left for college. I always wanted to sit down and have tea with her like we used to see her do with others growing up; we weren't hot tea drinkers when we were younger, but as we got older we started to find some that we favored. She unfortunately passed away in 2017......life feels harder without her vocal guidance, but I often fall back on the many lessons that she instilled in us.

Having lost my mom relatively young (she was 52 when she died, I'm 40 now, for perspective) I can't stress the importance of this enough.
IDC how tough, how street, how bad ass of a person you are, tell the people you love that you love them, tell them your appreciation for their value in your life, thank them for being an influence on you etc. IDC where I'm at, who I'm around, since losing my mom, I end every phone call with my dad with "I love you Dad". Could be with my wife n kids, could be with my buddies. IDC, "I love you Dad". He KNOWS his influence on my life, he knows I love him genuinely, he knows I admire n unconditionally respect him.

I lost my Mom last year to cancer but what upset me the most about it was that she knew how bad she was and never let me know and didn't let my other siblings tell me because she didn't want me coming to see her. I felt like she took that decision from me when it should have been my choice to come or not. I didn't get to be with her like my sibling did at the end to say goodbye to her and I didn't get to be there for the funeral either because they had her cremated before I could have gotten there. To this day I still wish she'd been honest with me so I could have had a chance to at least talk to her one last time on the phone since we lived 3000 miles apart.

I feel like Maven is in the best position ever to make these kind of videos. Someone who came into WWE at the end of the Attitude Era, beginning of Ruthless Aggression , as a competition winner, but still (humbly) a mid-carder. Regardless, he had his spots, and got to work with some of and if not the best wrestlers we all know and love today. He’s seen all the intricacies, and has dealt with his own. I respect his opinion so much on this business, and of course everything has to be taken with a grain of salt. Regardless, this has been the best nostalgia trip, and I can’t wait for more content 👍🏼

Great video as always. Watched you when you were debuting. I was a little kid back then (around 5-6 yrs old), and now I’m a doctor trying to specialize in Neurology & Sports Medicine. Your videos have been a breath of fresh air. I enjoy listening to/watching them during my breaks.
I really wish you can start your own podcast talking about the crazy stories throughout your wrestling career. Your voice is great to listen to!

I'm glad I found your channel, because I learnd so much about how you wrestlers making a match together and it's cute that now when I'm watching a match I can spot those little details in different moves where you are helping each other. It didn't "break magic" to me, in reverse, I started to respect wrestling a little more, because before I met your channel I thougth it's a "fake fights between fake characters" but they never were fake.
And thank you for your honesty, it is a great trait of yours that made me a fan without watching a single match.

I wanted to add to the answer about catering, I was a local stage hand in Austin at the Frank Erwin Center from about 2013-2017 mostly for set/strike tasks, and I did a number of calls for WWE. These would all be RAW broadcasts. The local stage hand crews were always invited to go through the catering line for our meals, and yes, it was excellent. We went at different times than the talent, but sometimes met talent anyway, because those guys could obviously hit the line whenever they liked. WWE was always a great show to work, and we all looked forward to it. It was always an intense day, but always fun.

Man, I feel you (on a much smaller level) Mave. When you were talking about not being able to watch wrestling the same way, I totally get that man. It’s much harder to view wrestling as a fan in this modern day of technology. Everyone’s always talking about botches and ratings and booking. It’s honestly sad. I miss being a kid and just being able to watch the show with awe. But now I find myself almost being hyper critical of the performance, as if I could do any better!

So after watching hundred of interviews and documentaries, here's what I've picked up on regarding Vince and decision making around character ideas, costumes, etc.
    A) Vince did always have the final say, however,
    B) He was rather fair in discussions, it was just that if you had a problem, you better have a solution and some good ideas of your own. Just not wanting to do something isn't going to cut it.

    • @andrebryant5081
