Dude I wanna say that it doesn’t matter if you were a mid carder or whatever these people say. You were a WWE superstar, and that alone is in my opinion a huge achievement on its own. My friend is a wrestler in his local town and he’s told me how hard it is to be noticed by WWE, and the fact that you also win tough enough makes you a legend in my eyes.
Being in WWE is a huge achievement and definitely LEGEND status! I tried to get into the business years ago. (I have a different look being Chinese, Japanese and Hawaiian) UPW (Cena was the Prototype there) accepted me but the 9-11 tragedy stopped the move in 2001. Had a match with Yuji Nagata and another with Dragon Gate. Did a Chikara event with Generico, Fire Ant, Eddie Kingston and others. Teddy Hart moonsaulted on my head. Almost had a match with AJ Styles. My FCW tryout was with AJ Lee and Adam Rose. I got to do a promo in front of the Legendary Dusty Rhodes. I had a smackdown tryout where I helped a run in with Matt Hardy. It was a short run but my regrets are not getting to meet and learn from all of the wrestlers from that time. I was a worker for 10 years (weekender) but never near the exhausting, back breaking point of wrestling on the road constantly. Search "Akua Neckbreaker". Due to this, I have absolutely no injuries or addictions. I've gone through tables, took huge moves (ex. hit a top rope DDT, did I mention Teddy Hart moonsaulted on my head, etc) Much respect to the Pros who sacrifice their body to the Sport. And much love to everyone on their path. I hope you get farther than me.

As this channel continues to grow, I don’t think it’s out of the question to see him on a PLE pre show panel, or behind the scenes somewhere. There’s no way WWE aren’t watching these since the videos directly discuss backstage ‘secrets’. Maven has presented himself so well with this channel, so although I wouldn’t count my chickens, it’s not impossible that we’d see him turn up one day.

@@bailey3209 FFS, Bret's family literally relied on wrestling to make a living. He's seen some of his peers fall into addiction, depression, and premature passing. What about his brother's tragic death in reverting to a gimmick he never wanted to do? Or finally, his career ending injury via a silly botch? Bret's always been a serious guy with little to no filter, I get he comes across as moody. But I am sick and tired of hearing these horrific takes when most in the business haven't been dragged through half of what he was, let alone (and I am trying to be polite) jabronis in comment sections.
Plus, he doesn't feel the need to wrestle in "arenas" of 20 people getting hit with lightbulbs and making $5, a beer, and a hot dog. That's reassuring.

This man's honesty and vulnerability is a breath of fresh air. Seeing him open up and give no excuses is why I watch these videos. I think the biggest gift for your mom was to see how good her son is doing in life. The mistake we make is to think that the wealth only makes them happy. They are not unhappy with it but every loving mom can't imagine of a bigger fortune than seeing her kids succeed in life! But that gift I think you dilivered masterfully!!! Maven, I’m 42 years old and remember watching you during your WWE run. I actually thought your theme song was great and always liked you - you seemed like an everyman that people could connect with. I truly respect you for showing us all how human you are and taking responsibility and owning up for the past. I also lost my mother to cancer in 2019… I can’t imagine how much harder it is to lose her that young. I felt that when you spoke about your Mom, Maven. I lost my Mother, suddenly, in the Summer of 2005, when I was 21 and it was the hardest thing to get through, as I was a certified "Momma's Boy." So awesome that you got to give back with that trip and her being able to see you reach your dreams.
Maven. Usually I do not try and comment to celebrities. I don't feel like anyone cares what I think and I'm just an average everyday loser. However, I hope you know that anyone who feels the need to tell you that you were not even a mid-card guy should look in the mirror. So cool to hear you were able to spoil and pamper your mom in her last days. I remember being a kid watching you on TE, seeing the segments where your mom was in hospital, etc. Not many moms get to see their sons achieve what you got to, and I'm sure she's beaming up there watching you do what you love, brother.
Had me choking up listening to you talk about your mother. She got to see you at your best and the happiness that must have caused is not to be underestimated. Bro the story about your mother was beautiful. Being a good son makes you a man among men. I got hurt in the military and i came back home to Tampa back in 2008 when the pill mills were huge in the area and got into the pain killers. Biggest regret of my life getting into those things but only when I lost everything it revealed the things that matter most to me. Glad you're, better i never forget how bad things got, keeps me thankful for everyday that I'm sober.
I love your videos Maven. I lost my dream job because I let my demons take over. My biggest regret in life was letting that happen, I’m always happy to be reminded to know that even as a firefighter or to someone like you, those demons can take over, destroy it all but still able to get back on their feet and get through it. When you’re in walking through hell, keep walking.
I'm sure your mother was proud of the man you had become and what she got to see you do in the ring and outside. And I'm sure she would be even more proud of the man you are now, you're an inspiration to many and your genuine self comes through brilliantly.
Having lost my mom in 2016 and my dad in 2023 times not shared with them and places I never got to take them to, right down to their last days on the planet are my number one regret. Everything else is a lesson learned, but those times lost with my parents are my number one or if not at least a tied place or between two and one. Surprised mom wasn't your number one, but that's just me. Not dogging you, you're a lovely person and I'm REALLY enjoying your videos. I've been a big wrestling fan since the early '80s and though my watching waned in the 2000s I do remember you quite well. Every time you talk about your beautiful Momma, I tear up. I’m about your age, and my Mom and Grandma are all I’ve ever been able to truly count on. My Grandma died in 2020, and my Mom nearly died before the miracle of a liver transplant. I suspect I’ll have to go on without her someday, and I don’t know if I’ll be able. You and your Mom looked so very bonded and close. I’m terribly sorry you lost her far too young. 💔

Mavens such a likable individual. Even before his RUclips days, I used to say he would have flourished if he wrestled in WWE later around the mid 2010s. Something about his style could have worked well with todays talent. I very vividly remember him working with legends like Undertaker and Triple H. I remember him facing Hunter on Sunday Night Heat. I was like 10 and cheered him on hoping he'd defeat Triple H. As a kid I hated Triple H. He was like the ultimate final boss heel to watch. Realistically Maven was never gonna be booked go win. But he had this kid believing in him and the match was memorable to me.
You have such quality content - if you keep this up… I could absolutely see WWE or someone reaching out to you to do some kind of show… like an, ‘INSIDE THE RING’ or ‘BEHIND GORILLA’ type show where it’s kind of like, ‘Dark side of the Ring’ but a more… WWE friendly show lol :) keep it up!!!

But the fact that your still with us today, with a good RUclips channel and looking like your doing good health wise, is a blessing for yourself and for your fans. Dude I wanna say that it doesn’t matter if you were a mid carder or whatever these people say. You were a WWE superstar, and that alone is in my opinion a huge achievement on its own. My friend is a wrestler in his local town and he’s told me how hard it is to be noticed by WWE, and the fact that you also win tough enough makes you a legend in my eyes.

I tried to get into the business years ago. (I have a different look being Chinese, Japanese and Hawaiian) UPW (Cena was the Prototype there) accepted me but the 9-11 tragedy stopped the move in 2001. Had a match with Yuji Nagata and another with Dragon Gate. Did a Chikara event with Generico, Fire Ant, Eddie Kingston and others. Teddy Hart moonsaulted on my head. Almost had a match with AJ Styles. My FCW tryout was with AJ Lee and Adam Rose. I got to do a promo in front of the Legendary Dusty Rhodes. I had a smackdown tryout where I helped a run in with Matt Hardy. It was a short run but my regrets are not getting to meet and learn from all of the wrestlers from that time.
I was a worker for 10 years (weekender) but never near the exhausting, back breaking point of wrestling on the road constantly. Search "Akua Neckbreaker".
Due to this, I have absolutely no injuries or addictions. I've gone through tables, took huge moves (ex. hit a top rope DDT, did I mention Teddy Hart moonsaulted on my head, etc)
Much respect to the Pros who sacrifice their body to the Sport.
And much love to everyone on their path. I hope you get farther than me.

What about his brother's tragic death in reverting to a gimmick he never wanted to do? Or finally, his career ending injury via a silly botch?
Bret's always been a serious guy with little to no filter, I get he comes across as moody. But I am sick and tired of hearing these horrific takes when most in the business haven't been dragged through half of what he was, let alone (and I am trying to be polite) jabronis in comment sections.
Plus, he doesn't feel the need to wrestle in "arenas" of 20 people getting hit with lightbulbs and making $5, a beer, and a hot dog. That's reassuring.

Maven, I’m 42 years old and remember watching you during your WWE run. I actually thought your theme song was great and always liked you - you seemed like an everyman that people could connect with. I truly respect you for showing us all how human you are and taking responsibility and owning up for the past. I also lost my mother to cancer in 2019… I can’t imagine how much harder it is to lose her that young. I felt that when you spoke about your Mom, Maven. I lost my Mother, suddenly, in the Summer of 2005, when I was 21 and it was the hardest thing to get through, as I was a certified "Momma's Boy." So awesome that you got to give back with that trip and her being able to see you reach your dreams.

Thank you for being so open, honest, and vulnerable to your fans. Screw what the haters say when they call you a "mid-carder" or whatever. The most important thing in wrestling is connecting with the fans. The fact that you were IN the WWE and you were a normal person like one of us, made a lot of us, when we were kids, feel like there was hope for anyone to make it. You were the original "Fan Who Became A Wrestler" gimmick to me, and boy was I cheering for you every time you were on my TV as kid. Much love, Maven! (Oh, and your theme was dope even thought you don't like it lol)
So cool to hear you were able to spoil and pamper your mom in her last days. I remember being a kid watching you on TE, seeing the segments where your mom was in hospital, etc. Not many moms get to see their sons achieve what you got to, and I'm sure she's beaming up there watching you do what you love, brother.
Had me choking up listening to you talk about your mother. She got to see you at your best and the happiness that must have caused is not to be underestimated. And to the people saying you were not even a mid card, just ask them what they were, because a good majority of them were not ever on the roster to begin with.

Bro the story about your mother was beautiful. Being a good son makes you a man among men. I got hurt in the military and i came back home to Tampa back in 2008 when the pill mills were huge in the area and got into the pain killers. Biggest regret of my life getting into those things but only when I lost everything it revealed the things that matter most to me. Glad you're, better i never forget how bad things got, keeps me thankful for everyday that I'm sober.
I love your videos Maven. I lost my dream job because I let my demons take over. My biggest regret in life was letting that happen, I’m always happy to be reminded to know that even as a firefighter or to someone like you, those demons can take over, destroy it all but still able to get back on their feet and get through it. When you’re in walking through hell, keep walking.

Having lost my mom in 2016 and my dad in 2023 times not shared with them and places I never got to take them to, right down to their last days on the planet are my number one regret. Everything else is a lesson learned, but those times lost with my parents are my number one or if not at least a tied place or between two and one. Surprised mom wasn't your number one, but that's just me. Not dogging you, you're a lovely person and I'm REALLY enjoying your videos. I've been a big wrestling fan since the early '80s and though my watching waned in the 2000s I do remember you quite well. Thank you for these videos and getting some amazing insights on the business and your career
We all have regrets brother but remember, those regrets are part of what shape us into the people we're supposed to be. You don't realize how impactful your channel is. Agreed, I’m in Aus so watching wrestling without paying for it is pretty much impossible, but I still like wrestling, so podcasts, videos and old matches will have to do. Maven is so open and honest and a genuine dude it’s awesome to watch his videos.
Maven, your #1 resonates. Being young and making mistakes can be unfortunate. Appreciate your honesty and ability to bounce back. I also find that although your videos are about wrestling, they can also be about life and growing as a person. Kudos for still teaching, even if it's not your intent.
Tough Enough was actually how I started following wrestling. I remember your first match on Smackdown to this day. I'm so glad you're doing well now.

Holy crap Maven, it’s amazing how you accept responsibility and recognize the role you played in your own life. You are an amazing storyteller relating your experiences without being self aggrandizing or deprecating at the same time. It’s refreshing to see someone (especially on the Tube) being as down to earth. To the casual observer such as myself I see you as having made peace, at least for the most part, for the things you wish you could change. That is a huge thing for any man.
I too lost my momma to cancer (Pancreatic). It sucks and I never regretted going to the hospital even when I was dead ass tired too. I would’ve had I not gone through.

Very sorry to hear about your regret with your mother. I speak for myself but I believe this may apply to you as well, you can never repay a mother's love and no decent mother would ever ask for that. Every time you talk about your beautiful Momma, I tear up. I’m about your age, and my Mom and Grandma are all I’ve ever been able to truly count on. My Grandma died in 2020, and my Mom nearly died before the miracle of a liver transplant. I suspect I’ll have to go on without her someday, and I don’t know if I’ll be able. You and your Mom looked so very bonded and close. I’m terribly sorry you lost her far too young. 💔

Even before his RUclips days, I used to say he would have flourished if he wrestled in WWE later around the mid 2010s. Something about his style could have worked well with todays talent.
I very vividly remember him working with legends like Undertaker and Triple H.
I remember him facing Hunter on Sunday Night Heat. I was like 10 and cheered him on hoping he'd defeat Triple H. As a kid I hated Triple H. He was like the ultimate final boss heel to watch. Realistically Maven was never gonna be booked go win. But he had this kid believing in him and the match was memorable to me.
You have such quality content - if you keep this up… I could absolutely see WWE or someone reaching out to you to do some kind of show… like an, ‘INSIDE THE RING’ or ‘BEHIND GORILLA’ type show where it’s kind of like, ‘Dark side of the Ring’ but a more… WWE friendly show lol :) keep it up!!!

#2 hit hard. I know many family members that lost their lives due to addiction. Opiate addiction is NO joke, and it’s a struggle that never ends, a struggle that will always be there. But the fact that your still with us today, with a good RUclips channel and looking like your doing good health wise, is a blessing for yourself and for your fans. Addiction doesn’t define or own you, and I’m proud to be a fan of yours Maven.
