I went to high school with Darren at maryvale high school and I watched this whole video and I can tell you he was the most classiest guy back then at maryvale and to see what he's accomplished in his life is well deserved he deserves everything he's worked hard for. Thank you Darren for sitting and talking with me in the quad for 5th hour before going to P.E. with coach wells you have always been that special person that always stopped and talked to anyone who approached you no matter how busy you were. Thanks woody for the memories at Maryvale I wish you the best at everything that follows with your retirement because you deserve all of it God bless.

Woodie with his best friend the so-called "bad guy" is just awesome. How in the hell could ANYONE not admire and respect Darren Woodson! Good for Keith Tucker as well...we all make mistakes some bigger than others and some of us just get lucky, but you can tell Mr Tucker is a fine man and a great friend to Darren!

Such a good dude who embodies so many of the best qualities in human beings. Not to mention an unbelievably underrated player. I grew up watching that Cowboys dynasty and I can remember so many big time hits and interceptions that Woodson came up with.

Woody was a BEAST, he no doubt is a Hall of Famer & one day will be there. Most importantly Darren is a great human being & one of my favorite Cowboys from the 90's.

Absolutely superb documentary, and I have a newfound appreciation for Darren Woodson, both as a player and as a human.
What made Darren Woodson great was that he was big with linebacker size with safety speed. His rookie year he played spot duty on special teams and won a Super Bowl. Second year he won the starting job from James Washington. He never relinquished it.

Darren Woodson not only a Hall Of Fame football player.. but a Hall Of Fame Person!. As a Dallas Cowboys fan he’s definitely one of my all time favorite players. I was fortunate to run into him whileI was at the “ The Star “ in Frisco, Tx. He was gracious & kind a complete gentleman and class act. It’s time for Woody to be inducted into the NFL Hall Of Fame!.

Grew up in the same neighborhood as Woodson in AZ.. He may not know it, but young football players look up to him to this day in Maryvale!

The guy was always in the right position and could really tackle. Smoothest defensive player I ever saw.....and yes he played slot safety/LB at that size and covered the likes of Jerry Rice....was before his time, and his character is undeniable...........he deserves to be in.

Woody is in the Hall of Fame of life. How great a friend who kept Woody out of trouble and focused on the goal for Woody to repay that love by supporting Keith his whole life. It is said that we only have 1 or 2 true friends in our life who support you no matter where, when, or what circumstance.
As to that vaunted championship defense, it is a testament to the players in that defense that only two stood out, nationally. Deion, because he’s the GOAT of DBs and Haley who ended the “Bend, don’t Break” era, ushering in the high pressure defense Johnson ultimately wanted.
Amazing player and even better man. Privileged to know him.
In their historical 4 year (e.g., 1992-1995) run, the Cowboy's defense ranked #1, #10, #1, and #9 in total defense. To have only 2 players (e.g., Charles Haley, Deion Sanders) from that defense in the Pro Football HOF is an absolute joke. Woodson is clearly deserving of being in the HOF. Interesting side note, Johnson's statement to Campo that Woody was going to be the starting safety in 1993, didn't actually come to fruition. The starting safeties for the 1993 Cowboys were James Washington and Thomas Everett. In 1994, Switzer named Woodson as the starting safety and Darren garnered his 1st of 5 consecutive Pro Bowl selections, and he was an All-Pro selection in 3 of those 5 seasons.

Fantastic job on this! Woody will be in the HOF someday and should have already been. I started really paying attention and following Dallas (despite being a fan since I was born basically) when I was a freshman in high school and that Roy Williams/Woodson tandem will forever be my favorite.
Me to. Roy was one of my favorite all-time Cowboy players to watch. They were the best safety tandem Dallas ever had and they were perfect. Woodson was the brains and the center fielder and Roy was the enforcer for anything that dared come to the middle of the field.
Glad somebody recognizes Woody. The Woody play I remember is in the divisional round against Philly in Jan. '96. Rodney Pete tried to run for a first down.....and when he got to the sticks: Woody was waiting on him. KO'd him out of the game.

If I had my pick of any jersey # from all of those Superstars who won Superbowls, and played in pro bowls, and did so many incredible things on the football field, #28 would be the Jersey I choose first. Just an amazing player and person. He's all time top 10 NFL Safety, no doubt and for those who know football, I'm certain they'd agree.

Woody was the cousin of my friend Ricky Reed and I remember asking Rick to bring him to BI our job and I remember Ricky walking Woody inside the building. Coolest guy you ever met. There was so many times Woody would move me and my daughter to the front of the line in so many functions. I remember walking up to him at Prine Time 21 after he hit Rodney Pete earlier that day that Damm near decapitated Pete on the side line. I said "Woody you gonna kill somebody hitting that hard!" He look at me and look so apologetic and regretted hitting the quarterback so hard. He has a heart of gold congratulations in advance on making the HOF. Much Respect 🙌

I have always thought you and Roy were the toughest secondary the Cowboys ever had, hitting the biggest, fastest back the Cowboys ever had, Hershel. If you could contain him, you had control of any football player with speed & size.

They dont make players like Darren anymore. I went to Maryvale High school at the same time as Darren and I know the dangers and trials he went through. His character, and his will to win is a relic of a bygone era. I watched 1 episode of Hard Knocks and I knew right then that none of these players are like Darren. Players these days are too entitled. A coach like Jimmy Johnson would not even be tolerated with today's players.
None of those safeties she mentioned can compare to Woodson period!
