And if he had to throw 30 to 35 times per game in a different offense he would've been more than capable of doing so. I'm no cowboys fan by any stretch, but in my opinion Aikman is a top 5 passer to ever play if your going strictly based on throwing mechanics and passing of the football
So true! The bigger the game, the better he played. Poor coaching, Free agency and the salary cap robbed him of team gel. As well as age, but in his prime, there was no one better. Period!
I'm sad I never got to witness these days. I wass born 2 months after the Cowboys won their last Super Bowl. I think these days are long gone. The following year, before the NFC Championship against the "49ers" , "WE WILL WIN THE BALL GAME, and you can print it in 3 inch headlines: WE WILL WIN THE BALL GAME!"

I'm no cowboys fan by any stretch, but in my opinion Aikman is a top 5 passer to ever play if your going strictly based on throwing mechanics and passing of the football
Troy didn't care about STATS, he just wanted to win !
He was as good as Bradshaw imo.
So true! The bigger the game, the better he played. Poor coaching, Free agency and the salary cap robbed him of team gel. As well as age, but in his prime, there was no one better. Period!
27:34 number 1 ranked defence, yet no pro bowl players ? How the hell does that happen ?
🤔
I'm sad I never got to witness these days. I wass born 2 months after the Cowboys won their last Super Bowl. I think these days are long gone. I mean don't get me wrong, I think some day the Cowboys will win a Superbowl someday, but to have a team that was so dominant as this team. I would be absolutely shocked if the Cowboys ever got this good again.
ZERO chance because of the way they got all the great players in the 91, 92 and 93 drafts.
It was a fun time to be a Cowboys fan. They went from 1-15 to back to back superbowl wins in a few years.
Man I felt this comment 🤦🏽♂️😞. I was born in 90 and the first SB I remember was Bret Farve winning it the 96-97 season SmH. I too missed the glory days bro
Born in 86. I got to see every one, and did not grasp how great they really were until 10 years later when the teams were bad again. Different time of football too
I feel VERY fortunate to have seen the start of the Cowboys, then the SBs in the ‘70s (with my fav of ‘77) and then the’90s. I’m hoping for another Chip, hopefully in the next 2 seasons, though if the OL and Dak play well along with the D we have, it could be this year!
If jimmy had stayed, cowboys would of won at least 3 more rings. Damn you Jerry!
Jerry is and has an ego problem.
They both had huge egos
All the cowboys fans say that lol
@@johnjanuary2958 Exactly people act like they dont see that
11:12 Just love the segment from this part, fave of all the crazy moments in this entire series. Much Respect to Haley.
42:30 Notice how Jerry just rips the trophy from Jimmie? The selfishness and ego was always there. Jerry ruined the cowboys.
"How 'bout them Cowboys!" back when it was said without laughing and sarcasm....
As a Giants fan, this team was the Greatest Cowboys Team Ever.
88 was our heartbeat when he went down in Philly my mom cried I mean cried and I thought man that's the heart of our team layin there and the end of their reign of the 90s it felt terrible
Man and I have unforgiveness for Philly for ending my idols career
The NFC Championship game was the real Super Bowl. The 49ers were the #1 offense and the Cowboys were the # 1 defense.
Goosebumps
Love this. The bits at the end weren't on the original.
Thanks for uploading this video to RUclips for posterity. My cowboys of 1992 is probably one of the best teams in history. I want Dak Prescott to propel himself into a super bowl QB. I just don't think he has it
Prescott is neither the problem or the solution. Jerry Jones has been the PROBLEM since the day he ran off Johnson. The SOLUTION will come a few years after the owner of the Cowboys last name is anything other than JONES.
@@jaysantos536 I fear that another wasted season is what's in store for the cowboys. Dak Prescott will have a losing record this year. He'll have a 1st place schedule this year and I just know he will under achieve in a big way
@@cranstoncoleman773 Stop with the "fear" sir and find something else more meaningful to do with your emotions, time and money. Good luck!
I think Prescott will shock all the non-believers and have his best season by far!
Not goin happen. The boy just ain’t that good.
42:01-44:38 I get chills on this part. The Cowboys went from 1-15 to a Super Bowl in 4 years! America’s team was a champion again!
Love this 92 team up until then I’ve been waiting 16 season to witness my boys win our 3rd super bowl then we did a back to back … could of been 4 in a row unprecedented
Not even a Cowboys fan but loved this team!
Not a Cowboys fan, but I can’t deny that Dallas was dominant back when I was a little kid. Easily a soft spot for me seeing Dallas and they’re dominance in those days.
I'm just here reminiscing about the glory days after watching that devastating loss in San Francisco last night.
I'm a niners fan but I have huge respect for those 90s Cowboys, a true dinasty.
☝️🤠🇨🇱💍
Been a bills fan ever since. 90’s has to be the heyday of football.
Never knew Jimmy n jerry were high school buddies. Damn he needa put him in the ring of honor asap
Halftime December 30th 2023
88 was the heartbeat of that team he was a worker first star second
That's crazy how I'm a huge Cowboys fan and I have to go back and watch these types of videos just to feel good about my team...
I jus hope the boys are ready for this Sunday. They gotta want it as bad as we the fans want it
I love watching all these, cause the Cowboys now are killing my soul maybe one day we will get back to the super bowl, cowboys had so many good players then and they very rarely get any love.
It took Jimmy 4 years but the only coach Jerry gave a chance to make a team was the clapper 10 years. Bill and Wade were the only ones that got 4 years but in today's game it takes longer.
Jimmy was a hellava coach hes in the 93 Superbowl episode, Jerrys ego ruined him and Jimmy's friendship, working relationship, I know they would have had 4 in row if Jimmy would not have left maybe more. The Cowboys just seem to be a disappointment every year after such high hopes!
Haley was traded in August, not the Spring. He is literally the only reason Cowboys win 92 NFC Championship game. San Francisco to this days says it was the worst trade they ever made.
The addition of Thomas Everett that same year solidified our defense, and Eric Williams on offense, completed the whole team
Dont wont happen, we will be in the playoffs, what balls. What a coach. What a motivator. Just great
The following year, before the NFC Championship against the "49ers" , "WE WILL WIN THE BALL GAME, and you can print it in 3 inch headlines: WE WILL WIN THE BALL GAME!"
The most underrated unit in history Is that defense.
In my opinion the ,1992 is the best ever getting Haley was the key
I want to know what the soundtrack's called around 42 minutes. I used to know what the song was called, but I forgot. I'd appreciate anyone who can tell me!
Revelations by Veigar Margeirsson
As a Packer fan, I remember how dumb the Vikings were to give all those picks for Hershel Walker. Then the cowboys won the super bowl and Green Bay won one in the 90s so I was happy.
So, this is definitely an extended version of this episode of "America's Game."
The additions are on the DVD on the "special features" part
I remember them when I was a kid I'm 40 now 🇨🇦🇨🇦
The 34-10 beatdown of the Eagles was sweet revenge for the MNF debacle in Philadelphia. Three years later, there was icing on the cake with that 30-11 playoff win.
I was there, at the Coliseum for the Raiders and Cowboys. Several Raider fans started a huge fight and when the staff showed up and started throwing people out they tried to throw us out too even though we had nothing to do with it. Basically they were throwing out any Cowboy fan in the vicinity.
Aikman was the first dime thrower in the league. period.
LOL delusional
All time greatest cowboys team ever
Never watched the 92 Cowboys because I wasn't born yet but watching this even I think, "Man there will never be a cowboys team or team this great again."
Aikman to Irvin passes are top 5.
FYI Troy also did a duet with Waylon Jennings “we love the good Dallas Cowboys” I think is the name.
How bout them Cowboys! Americas team!💖🏈🇺🇸
I would rate this team among the best
Best cowboys team ever and it's not even close
The 1992-93 Cowboys were one of the best NFL teams in history...and that's not even close!
1977 was great too
@@davettabowers6359 this team beat better teams than 77 but yeah that 77 team was lit
Anyone know the song that starts at 42:01
It was just Tom's time to go Jimmy was the man and Jerry and his drunk mouth killed the Cowboys and still to this day we haven't recovered.......They always forget Novachek
These cowboys were as big of a deal as the bulls during the same years
Cowboys were bigger
@@nevergonnabesilent not internationally
@@wce05308 True. Football wasnt very international back then
@@nevergonnabesilent yep in America they were huge but overseas the bulls were the shit.
Watching this the day after we lose to the 49ers
I like these little shorts at the end.
On my birthday the 25th remember being ❤️ broken that day no more Tom was devastated.
Michael Irvin “Where is your clothes? What are you doing “
83, 84 & 80 dont get near enough credit. KMart, Jay, and Harper were instrumental in those early years of success.
Learned by watching this... How important it is to make right decisions in right time - right age
I was 4 I saw that poster at day care in Dallas Texas 1992 cowboys schedule the numbers 8, 22 and 88 alkman, smith and Irving they defeated buffalo bills twice that's I'm became a fan well still a fan of Big Bird on channel 13 and Bozo from WGN America newsnation.
I dreamed that Kenny Norton play, called Norm Hitguz the next day talked to the DFW audience and told the world he was gonna do just that. Man the City was pumped!
42:40 jerry pulls the trophy from jimmy 😂
I noticed that he had habit of doing that, especially with Switzer. Very selfish.
2021 here we are about to face the 49ers in the playoffs… let’s win this game and go on a special run! It won’t be easy but we can do it we can beat anyone anywhere anytime. Time to take back our rightful place among the greats! LETS END THIS DAMN SUPER BOWL DROUGHT.
HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!
Not this year, Buddy!
I really do miss smash mouth football.
@14:00 that was the first cowboys game I ever went to Mike went off
How come no one ever mentions number 97 on the Leon Lett play? he clearly missed a block looking the wrong way
Eyes get a little misty at 42:00, every time.
He should've said "I need my inhaler" would've sounded better lol
Ken Norton Jr. Says "Who are the Buffalo Bills? We beat the 49er's"
Umm Kenny, who beat the 49er's during the 1992 season in the first ever no punt game? The Bills. No wonder Emmitt was my favorite 90s Cowboys player. Norton doesn't even know who he played against.
Not only if Jimmy stayed but because the team was mainly built through the draft if they had been able to keep all their players
Damn, that salary cap!
What I would give to see a program like this for the European Cup/Champions League
