Great video. My complaint:
Every car I've ever owned had about a one quart reservoir that could be removed and replaced in about ten minutes. The Farfegnuggens who designed this car put in a two gallon reservoir that you need to take half the car apart in order to replace it. Design fail.
Very instructive especially in regard to suble but helpful details. 5/5 for me. Jim
+James Nasmith Thank you!
Very helpful video. Thanks for the upload.
Do you have to do all of this just to change the reservoir tube? Because mine is cracked and has an opening
I have a 2012 VW Jetta. Is this basically the same method? I don't think I have the fender window things to remove though.
Have a done a video on a 2014 Audi Q5..?
Would this be similar to a 2014 vw beetle. Don’t see any videos for it.
Would this be similar to a Jetta?
This vehicle is a freaking joke! XD That is the only washer fluid res that I've seen that you've got to do more than just remove three bolts and pull it right out the topXD Have to do this on the ladie's car and I'm not looking forward to it hah, was hoping for a more simple removal but it'll be alright
WyoMoto I agree
Lol....if you cant do this let someone with bigger balls do it
Can't this be done just removing wheel arch and headlight? Seems extreme taking the whole front bumper off
Do you think this would be possible without removing the lower part of the wheel arch liner? I really need to replace my tank but don't have a ramp. I've had the bumper off a few times and swapped the headlights so fairly confident I can follow your video but don't want to get all that way and get stuck...
+Adam Gnome Thanks for watching! You can certainly try to do that, but you will likely not have enough room to work with.
would it be about the same for a 2015 VW golf? thanks!
+Brad Lee This procedure might be different for your application. We do not currently have a how-to video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Can you guys please post a video on how to remove the blue reservoir cap? Mine broke and I can't figure out how to remove the remaining broken part. 2018 golf
We're always cycling through cars filming hundreds of common repairs for common vehicles every month. We'll add this to our list of repairs to film. Check back again and hopefully we'll have it soon. +Arjay Crystal
Are you talking about just the blue cap itself?
The only thing wrong with mine is the filler neck is cracked open. Can you just replace the neck?
Can you give us the part number?
What is this part number ?
+Monico Sanchez Thanks for checking us out! The part # is DMROB00020. I have included the link to it: www.1aauto.com/vw-audi-coolant-reservoir-dorman-603-253/i/dmrob00020?f=914699&y=2010
Unbelievable this was 10 minute job on most cars in my day screen was bottle right infront of your face 2 nuts and remove the electrical connector to motor pull it out replace all done in less 10 minutes. Now like strip half components down to get at it . What would be labour charge for that work you just done ? I know in uk between £50 and £100 an hours labour for components you can get for around 20/30 pounds mark .
What a nightmare 😵, why did Volkswagen hide the reservoir so deep in the bowels on the car wtf. Guess I'll just live with the leaky tank
