thanks for the video! i successfully replaced this with an OEM pump that cost me $60. Who knows what a shop (or god forbid) dealer would have charged. You the man!
Just replaced my SEAT Leon 5F's washer pump. Useful video to follow along to! For my car the rear of the wheel liner didn't need to be removed which was a bonus
Done in 30 minutes by removing the foglight grill fog light and horn MUCH easier and quicker My genuine pump lasted 15 years because i mixed 10% antifreeze with the screenwash
Thank you. Dealer wanted $469. I did it for $32. Hardest part was disconnecting. I’m always afraid I’m going to break a tab and all I can hear in my head is my father saying, “DON’T FORCE IT!”
Just done this on my Kodiaq - wheel arch liner is in one piece, which makes it much more fun. Completed, tested, reassembled, moved the car and found another body screw where the car had been 😮 I’ll find the hole next time I take the wheel off…
Fixed mine don’t need to take off the tire just take off the whole plastic cover and you’re good did jack up the car to get under took me an hour if I had power tools probably like 30 min
Is your pump still working? I think I bought the same brand pump for my Corsa in August. But it’s leaking on the blue colored part where the tubes are attached. We hadn’t realized it up until we refilled the tank 3x. It still is under warranty of 2-3 years, but we’ve been waiting for 3 weeks now for them to send a replacement.
I am struggling with the 90 connector on the bottom!! I bought a new one but I can’t figure out the trick to setting it on and getting the black clip to properly seal around the connector. It’s the little white guy with the little black clip that goes around it. Can’t seem to get it to seal the liquid properly it just all keeps running out. I thought I had it at one point but I noticed a slow drip so I bumped it and it start leaking uncontrollably again until the fluid was gone above that point. This is so silly but I need it asap for inspection. Obviously the fluid can’t leak. Help. What was the trick?
So much parts to remove to clean / change the pump! Why can't they make simple diy cars!!!! This makes me feel like a goat who is going to get butchered!!! High price of the car= high maintenance!!!
Just done mine , an easy job apart from the rubber grommet has disappeared to the screenwash reservoir and one of the retaining clips which are plastic just disintegrated.
How to know which pump suits my car? Looking at Autodoc, there are 3 different pumps. Membrane, Single pump and Double Pump. I recognize that the double pump has the blue thing on it, just as in the video of yours.
On older cars like Fabia MK1 be careful because the connection likes to BREAK off (it did it to mine) it will still hold but theres a chance it will disconnect
Eu tenho a mesma dúvida. Nos dois fios chegam um sinal positivo, e, ao acionar a bomba para o vidro dianteiro ou vidro traseiro, os dois se tornam neutro.
Wow you do not need to remove the panel. There is a hole which is for access to the pump. You just need to pop off the cover. The job takes about 10 minutes
@@Dadadu16 there's a little square window on the bottom arch liner you can see in the video. I just noticed this myself when I seen this comment I'm glad I did as it's a pain in the dick stripping all that plastic out
hey there, how long approximately does this take? I just got myself a new Pump, need to replace it and want to plan ahead of how long I'm gonna need. very cool video btw, thanks for making this this is super helpful!
Has anyone had an issue where you wipe your windshield front and back and the water starts running into the driver’s footwell? Only happens while driving
Do it yourself price = under $30 Dealership price for this replacement / repair =$ B E N D O V E R but that includes the tax and remember just ask for Ben
I just really dislike the kind of tubing they used for it. It breaks so darn easy, when some normal flexible tubing would have done the trick far better.
If VW, nothing is easy.😠 Check the fuse first. If not fuse, then probably pump. The fuse is under the "floor" area which supports the battery, and just forward of the battery. No need to remove the battery.
Just like BMW. German engineers have destroyed the auto industry. In fact, the auto industry has destroyed the auto industry. At least from a DIY point of view. These A-holes don't want you to fix your own car.

You used a torque wrench on the lug nuts. Good man!

Any chance of doing this without removing the wheel and just turning it to the left? I need to replace my Kodiaq motor.
I'm just being lazy :)
Think my vw caddy is the same so really glad you uploaded and showed removal great video to learn from.thanks.
This is my exact task for next Saturday. Thanks man. I know what I'm looking for now. 😄🙂👍
Just did my 2008 A3. It was the front passenger wheel and a few wheel lining pieces. Thanks bud!!!
have same issue on my Sharan 7N - have to diagnose and most probably replace the pump.
thx for very detailed video!
I'm embarrassed to say I had to google "Sharan 7N". I hope the video helps if you have to replace the pump.
There's a tool in the spare tire compartment to take off those plastic lug covers. A 90° Scribe works really well, too.
Thanksz i just replaced the pump on the Skoda Kodiaq of my wife.
Even old and new pump looks exactly the same.
Great clip. I´ve been searching for same problem for my T-roc but I guess they have similar construction.. 😃
Fixed mine don’t need to take off the tire just take off the whole plastic cover and you’re good did jack up the car to get under took me an hour if I had power tools probably like 30 min
Great video, thank you very much
Could it be easier ? If you steer the wheel to one side and then you unscrew the liner , could it work ?
Thanks for the video. Was helpful watching this before doing my pump.
No problem 👍
Thank you so much mate-that’s very kind of you.
Is this the same pump for the rear window? On my VW polo the front works but not the rear.
This is a dual pump for both front and rear window
Same the pump is used for both front and back
You can remove headlight unit to get access too (torx screws). Saves arch removal
awesome video !! thanks !

Thanks for the video.
Should I try and check the fuse first but I don't know which one passat 2017? Thanks
This is one of the better video thanks. Do you know the fuse number to the washer motor?

Hi guys does the front and rear screen wash work off tge same pump ? As both have stopped working and fuse seems to be ok ? Thanks

Is the location for the washer pump the same for a Volkswagen CC?
Hi, thanks for the video, while removing the pump, a grommet fell off. Unable to find where to put it back, can you help please?
the rubber grommet fits on the bottom of the pump which in turn locates into the tank.
On older cars like Fabia MK1 be careful because the connection likes to BREAK off (it did it to mine) it will still hold but theres a chance it will disconnect
full wheel arch lining out on fabia mk 1?
Where is the pump on a mk6 Golf TDI? My reservoir is on the opposite side of the engine, and back a bit farther.
how does the dual pump work ?. there is only 2 wires. On mine there is 12 v on each wire.
Eu tenho a mesma dúvida. Nos dois fios chegam um sinal positivo, e, ao acionar a bomba para o vidro dianteiro ou vidro traseiro, os dois se tornam neutro.

Wow what hole are you talking about?
The panel is directed outside the location of the water pump in the wheel arch

Of course, i did the same in my vw golf V.
Thanks

If you have the tools ready including tire removal, I guess it would take about 1hr.
@@themissingmanual753 cool! I actually changed it already and it did in fact take about an hour! thanks for responding!

Hello sir which colour is front and back
Thank you
Do this pump actually tend to fail or I was just unlucky?
Thanks!
I replaced the pump and fuse. Still not working and no pump noise.
Fuse?
Has anyone had an issue where you wipe your windshield front and back and the water starts running into the driver’s footwell?
Only happens while driving
Thx a lot so helpful
Glad it helped
I have the problem that when I operate the front windscreen washer, it also comes out of the rear, could it be a pump problem?
Yes, the check-valve in the pump could be defect
Reversed the tubes
@@smurfiennes wow 😧
Was so confused that it was different from the original. Took it back thinking it was the wrong part. Now its another trip back :-(
You didn't show how to take the light fitting which covers the bottom of the reservoir 😢
I changed the pump, and now one of the clips is leaking...
Nice
how much does this repair cost

£17.99 for the pump fron euro car parts, in a garage it costs £90 for supply and fit
You jacked it in the wrong place,if you look there are two arrows indicating the correct location on the sill panel front and rear
How do you remove filler neck
That was the passenger side front wheel you removed not the driver one. Thanks for the demo all the same.
It’s a LHD vehicle
my 2016 has the motor pump on the other side of course.................................. lol
Good video but sadly not for a 2014 Golf cabrio where the ^%$#@# put the pump on the FRONT of the reservoir !
I just really dislike the kind of tubing they used for it. It breaks so darn easy, when some normal flexible tubing would have done the trick far better.
