Best video on this topic. Thanks for such a thorough and simple video.
+tmartin01NC Thanks for the feedback!
Agree! I spent three days looking into this issue and THIS is definitely the video I needed... I wish the internal sensor part itself was interchangeable and not hard-molded into the tank. I think that's the part that's shot on my wife's VW and not sure I want to deal with swapping the whole tank out... :/
Super helpful!!
Great video!

Does the engine cover have to come off to remove the upper inlet hose?
When you filled it already, switch on engine with cap on or off?
i have audi a3 2013 diesel i want to change my coolant bottle can i follow the same steps
Can you please make a video on how to flush the coolant out of this generations GTi
Just purchased this tank for my 2011 VW GTI and the connector for the coolant level doesn't fit. It seems the two metal "pins" on the tank side are made thicker than stock.
+Francisco Rivera Thank you leaving us this comment. We would be more than happy assist you on this. Please give us a call at 888-844-3393 so we can get this resolved for you!
Should you run the engine with the coolant reservoir cap off in order to burp the system?
You can... But I found it safer to squeeze the coolant hoses coming from the radiator into the engine just to prevent it from running with low pressure and air in the system. I've had times the engine bogs when I run it to burp it...
Fill the coolant tank, and lift it higher than the hose, and straighten the hose so the air can escape and gaps will fill with coolant. 👍
Any idea why my coolant sensor connector won't click?
I'm having the same issue.
Me too what did you guys do
Did it just need force
What are the 2 prongs inside the resevor and how do they sit inside?
Thank You
+Butch R The prongs are related to the coolant level sensor. Thanks for watching!
Please help my vw polo reservoir overflow and water comes out while am driving bt mi car does not over heat everything is fine what could be the cause ..
+Niko Abednego We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Do you know what is the amount of coolant used by these motors?
+Juan Assandri Thanks for checking us out! When it comes to fluids in your vehicle, you should always go by your owners manual to get the right type and amount to prevent any issues down the road.
2 bottles of premix G13 should be enough
Super bizarre that you wouldn't take the coolant out of the reservoir before taking off the lower hose, to avoid that stupid mess you made there.
