My dad had a patrol in the early 90s. So I'm big on Nissan to come out clean. I have to admit that this new V6 Twin Turbo from Nissan has 99% chances of being unreliable. If Toyota could not get it right god knows Nissan will epically fail. I would play the wait and see game where at year 3-5 the truth will be out on the engine's reliability

@@DarthNeroyeah because dealerships rarely offer the v8s. Even here in Detroit where I’m at, 2.7L/3.5L out number v8s literally 10-1 at any dealership with the majority being 2.7s and v8s have less to no discounts unlike the 2.7. In other words it’s harder and more expensive to get a v8 and that’s why they sell less. If you do find a v8 f150 at the dealership, that shit doesn’t last long so there’s definitely demand, but Ford doesn’t want to sell v8s. I’m sure ford secretly pushes for the 2.7 to be sold more since it lowers their emission numbers.

Well since they both only sell a handful of full size trucks and SUV's with those motors, they probably were forced to move to engines that were shared with other platforms. Toyota's 3.4L V6 is in all sorts of different cars and SUV's(Lexus LS, Lexus LX, Lexus GX, Sequoia, Tundra, Land Cruiser etc). Same with the Nissan 3.6L. They dont sell enough Titan's and Armada's here in the US to justify producing the 5.6L just for those vehicles.

@EchoAccord Without turbos sure, in a heavy ass SUV with twin turbos not a chance...see Toyota.
You can blame the EPA for that
Nissan. Bring back the Titan. Make the Warrior. Profit.
The all-new Nissan Technical
A 2020 titan pro4x is basically the V8 truck version of this and they still didn’t sell
The Aussies get a Warrior trim 😢
This thing looks like a beast, I really hope it sells for them
yes nissan!!!!! you’re doing it!!! you’re doing it!!!!
Should have just made a new Xterra
Love it!!! Thanks for the locker Nissan!!!
Look’s phenomenal and exactly what I was hoping Nissan would do with this refresh! Prob out of my immediate price range for now but I suspect in a few years I can find one with low mileage and save 15-20k. The Pro4X though is sweet! So glad for driving modes, proper rear locking differential I think they knocked this out of the park compared to Tahoe, Yukon, and Sequoia for the price too it’s sweet.
Now Nissan needs to give us a NISMO Armada 🙏
Huh? Pro-4x is the creme de la creme of Nissan trucks.
Nope. There's a more extreme version called the Warrior but it's only available in Australia. I'm sure there will be a Warrior version of this that will be Aus only as well.
If they make a nismo version it will probably be for the middle east market only not for the NA market
A 500+ HP Nissan Armada Nismo would go so hard
@@dejonm2001 it would be SICK!
Dystopian data collection nightmare!
Nissan is the most invasive data-collection brand next to Tesla. The even reserve the right to monitor and track your sexual activity. Look it up.
I would agree. Exterior and offroad tech is cool, spying on your kids is weird. If I bought the vehicle I'd look at removing the camera and sensor.
Man I'd love it if Nissan brought back the Xterra
Great video! Finally - a possible replacement for my aging Land Cruiser 200! It would be quite a change for me given I have driven Land Cruiser since 1987.
Why not pick up a 2021 Land Cruiser or LX570?
This is a Nissan Patrol Warrior
The irony is that the US market dictates an enormous PETROL 4X4 when Australia's market is primarily diesel for efficiency purposes.
This vehicle is far from enormous. And diesel is usually anywhere from 50 cents to a dollar more per gallon. Diesel continues to have a negative connotation in family cars in the States. There have been numerous efforts to make an efficient diesel option in small, affordable cars, but they just didn’t sell.
I had a 2018 armada and loved it. I would only get around 8mpg towing our camper. Camped in the rear and had plenty of room. I liked the v8, but mpg sucked. I traded it for a silvarado with the 6.2l. Towing is much more stable in my truck, but I would love to get another armada if the mpg is improved. I need to see 22 for highway driving.
I’m a Nissan boy but when did they start throwing all these dope (albeit a lil unnecessary) features??? I’m so happy with the direction Nissan is going and I’ve been waiting to live in a Nissan golden age like the one from the 90s
since ppl been crying for those features lol
I’m definitely getting this next spring
Optical and thermal cameras pointing at the occupants? Google connected?
Hard pass.
So you will give up affordable and reliable transportation which could save you thousands over some thermal cameras? I think there will be easy bypasses not to mention you don't have to have it connected
@@psynurse Right because there is no affordable and reliable transportation without thermal cameras that can save me thousands. Solid argument.
If I understood correctly the camera is optional. So maybe people will say no to that particular option.
You can disconnect it if you're paranoid. Or simply ducktape it.
Much like the phone and computers we already use😂
Beautiful!, I think this front and interior will be used in the new Nissan frontier 2025
Hi Guys! Please make a real 4X$ test truck in mountain (mud, crawling, descending) of the 3 road big family SUVs Trucks: Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, GMC Yukon AT4, Land Rover 130, Toyota Sequuoia, Ford Expedition Tremor, Nissan Armada Pro4x, Toyota Land Cruiser .. .we need to move a big familie across crosscountry, crawl tracks and ascending mountains.
Bring back the Xterra with all those features
The main reason i bought my 2 Armadas was for that 5.6 V8, simplicity equals reliability and a turbo is a no go
My dad had a patrol in the early 90s.
Concur, we bought our 14 Armada because Ford only offered the 3.5EB in the Expedition that year. Glad we bought the Armada though, 10 years and 150K later it has been a remarkable vehicle for our family.
The Nissan 5.6 wasn’t exactly a simple engine 😂
@@36mcasta positive is that this engine has existed for years. The VR v6 is in the GTR, Infiniti sedans, and the Z. While more complicated than the VK56, it’s a good engine.
Nissan makes super reliable turbos.
That's looks pretty awesome! I dig it. Glad to see Nissan improving their lineup. Thanks for the video.
Looks good but damn....that much screen in place of a tradition gauge cluster just does not do it for me. Its way for the manufacture to cheap out while charging you more money.
Not to mention reliability
Nice rig but too much of screens. The new Bugatti hypercar doesnt even have all of those screens. I guess the very wealthy don’t really care all about that.
Good to see Tommy again
Imagine a Titan like this!!
Isn't Titan a Pickup Truck?
This thing looks awesome and i'm happy that it has a diff lock, but good god, the amount of tech in that.....maintenance will be a fortune!
Nissan is back !!!
I haven’t been a big fan of Nissan’s latest design language with their armada, but this is sharp looking and it looks like they’re up to snuff on tech. If the price undercuts the Sequoya and GM twins, I can see Nissan gaining a bit more of the pie than they currently have. Even more so if the aftermarket world comes in with lots of options.
Can’t wait for Nissan to take my money on this new armada
NOT A NISSAN FAN BUT THE FRONT END LOOKS GREAT...PUSHING THE LIMITS WITH LED LIGHTING
Bring back the Titan w/ 2 engine options. Let the consumers decide like they do at Ford.
Ford will likely discontinue the V8 in the near future since it makes up of 10% of their F150 sales. V8 is dying engine man. Soon, the rest of the competition will follow & ditch it for a turbocharged/ hybridised variants.
@@DarthNero Its actually more like 23%, which is at least 100k trucks. Then there is the 40k or so mustang 5.0's a year. Go search nationally on cargurus and you can filter by engine type and see the ratios of V6's to V8's.
Even though the 5.0 is one of like 4 engine options in the F150, they still make 3x as many of them per year than Nissan made 5.6L's.
@@mertz313 Im sure Ford does push the 2.7L more. And lets be realistic, most 1/2 ton truck buyers dont need more than the 2.7L. Thats a potent little motor that is extremely efficient and has been pretty damn reliable. Probably more reliable than the 5.0.
@Jay-me7gw How dare you speak such a way of the venerable Coyote! Lol. It is a shame, though, being a dinosaur in my early forties. Long live V8 muscle.
That might be my new favorite soft-offroader available in the states.
Give us an x-Terra again
I think Nissan is on a come back game. Glad that the desert king Patrol is in the US now. Bring back the Xterra please
MAKE THE 5.6 AN OPTION! COME ON NISSAN!
i know, that would've been so sick. They should've released these with the V8 like Jeep did with the Grand/Wagoneer and then discontinue it after a couple yrs.
They had it for over a decade and no one wanted it
Finally, we get the Nissan Patrol! Its the Land Rover of the Middle East! It has some much off road capabilities!!!
I'm actually shocked Nissan did this, I truly thought they were on their way out of North America
I’ve been waiting for this since 2017 I’m so Happy they made an off-road version for the states
Take it up Red Cone with the 20's, Tommy!
Finally a truck and a setup that I can agree with.
Damn that looks good.
Get your eyes checked.
Oh that’s nice. It is like the alternative to the LC 300 we can’t get. I have an LC 200, but would think about this as an alternative if it came time to find a newer model.
The hot selling frontier told Nissan what everyone already knew. People want simple and reliable engines.
Hot selling? it’s still one of the worst selling
@@crowtein677 it’s literally the 3rd highest selling mid sized truck behind the Tacoma and Colorado.
Try using google next time
@@srm6130 oh my bad
Finally a proper Nissan Patrol for the United States. Curious how different the Aussie Patrol will be. I’m looking forward to some off road test runs.
Oh what they could have done with the Titan 😢
Yes, we are very sad about the Titan also.
This thing is really sick. Love it. Now let's see the pricing!
What are the odds that both Japanese giants went from a 5.7L V8 to a 3.5L V6 Twin Turbo
5.6 to 3.5, and 5.7 to 3.4
High since Ford did the same thing and soon dodge. Chevy loves their cylinder deactivation that has cylinder failures. They might keep their v8s with crap cylinders.
Not surprising at all as Nissan and Toyota have always competed bitterly lol. With them, I always say, what one does, the other will follow.
California EPA stupid rules
Now do this with the Quest!
I think this directly competes with the Sequoia more than other makes/models . We'll see how this Twin Turbo holds up, it has been in the Infiniti line for a while and good. I like the dash/interior here better than the Toyota design. Looks like a big upgrade for Nissan. Great video!
Damn, I’ve been saying the Land Cruiser was my dream vehicle for years…but this new Armada is so tempting
You probably don't know this, but the hole in your pants is on full display @1:47 and on. Nice truck, though.
😂
