I investigated and found that only the front had double glazing for the windows, which I was a bit disappointed about. That said, it is essentially a non-issue, and the sound system easily drowns it out. 2) The electric steering is quite dull, but that is to be expected with any modern car with electric steering. 3) The dual screen setup and heads up display is rather distracting (modern car issue). The sound system is extremely bass heavy and slightly muddy, but after playing with it a little I have found a setup I enjoy. 4) The build quality is very good, interior quality better than a Land Cruiser and comparable to a Land Rover Defender. The leather is great and the piano black is entirely free of scratches so far, but we will have to see about long term durability. 5) Occupant comfort is excellent. All seats are exceptionally comfortable and there are multiple charging ports for each passenger. Rear seats have an optional screen. Oddly, there is no integrated sunshade for the rear doors. Maybe they’ll add it later or for different markets, but I don’t have them on mine (fully loaded except air suspension) and I haven’t seen any with them. Nissan's trucks and large SUVs are underrated, in my opinion. Imagine what position Nissan would be in today if they decided ten years ago to put the 7 speed auto in all their vehicles instead of the Jatco CVT.
The cvt didn't kill Nissan, stagnation and selling cheap cars did. Look at all the other manufacturers with overpriced junk like Ford and Toyota...they're doing great. Jatco has built over 55 million cvts. Acting like they all failed is like saying all 12 million Pentastar 3.6s failed when there's hundreds of thousands with over 200k miles on them with no issues. Consider that every beat up 2010 Altima you see doing 90mph on the highway missing wheel covers and half it's front bumper has at least 150k miles on it and never had the trans fluid changed.
@@stevee8318 CVT issues way overblown online. They are in their current position because they were averaging 1.5 million sales a year in China alone. In 2023 they only sold 98,000 vehicles in China. China is producing their own cars and Chinese people are gravitating towards the China brands now. China is the largest car market in the world.
@@Sheepleton There were no big problems with Nissan engines and their interiors are class competitive. Part of the reason Nissans are considered cheap is because the Jatco CVTs *were* cheap. Nissan paid hundreds of millions of $$ to settle lawsuits because they were defective, not because their customers failed to change the fluid.
I had rented the previous gen Armada once, enjoyed it alot. Its great to see Nissan moving towards the right direction. A company with so much heritage and history of making good cars ( and not so good ones). Regarding it having a lot of trch, that's the reality of a majority of brands now.
Yeah, always thought the Armada was underrated. Glad Nissan is still in the full size SUV game. The working man's Land Cruiser and nothing wrong with that.
I find it interesting when you say 80k is a massive ask for a Nissan. Top of the line Ford, Nissan and Chevy trucks easily hit 80k. Except you will actually be able to buy the Armada for msrp and I am nearly certain the quality is better then the Chevy or Ford.
@@aygwm Honestly large SUV's like this with all the bells & whisles have been expensive for a decade.... my QX80 from 2011 (called QX56 then before they changed the names in 2014) was 92k sticker. Escalade's were around the same price back then, but most of those escalades are in the junkyard now due to electronics failures or transmissions exploding.
@dragospahontu it doesn't. It also has a really poor motor and in the last iteration it didn't perform well or get good gas mileage and it wasn't reliable off-road either.
They build tons of good vehicles, they just get lots of hate from the days of CVTs that had issues out of the gate. However the trucks like this never had those problems and have been solid for the past 20 years. If you bought a non-CVT Nissan/Infiniti in the past 20 years; you got a great product. Don't forget that before the Q60 with electric steering; Infiniti was the #1 most reliable brand. They only lost it to Lexus because of the electric steering issues in the Q50/Q60.

I already have a below msrp offer on either a Yukon Elevation or Tahoe LT, but I may hold on to see what the Armada is like.
Their truck platform has always been solid.... same with their RWD car platform. The only ones that had problems were the cheaper FWD platform vehicles. Mostly due to people not servicing CVT's and driving them like they stole it all the time LOL
Feels good to see a good review again. It comes to the wrong time or maybe good time? Now that the engineers can do their work properly again. Although the old generation was not bad and one of the few good Ghosn influences...
Test drove this as the SL trim. Was pretty awesome. Good power and would be a great as family hauler. Was going to put a deposit on the Pro4X, but they did not have the option for second row captain's chairs. Now debating between SL or Platinum.
Bravo for using the Patrol Nissan! Hopefully this goes well for them. Wish it was cheaper, to force people into looking at them as an option, for those who are into these types of vehicles.
56k on the base is pretty cheap, when we bought our QX80 8 years ago; a new Tahoe was 50k base model and the Armada hadn't switched to the new platform yet but was still around 45k base... so considering all the inflation, it is only a few dollars more expensive than it would have been 8 years ago, meaning it is under the pace for inflation.
After seeing what happened when Toyota switched from V8 to V6TT, and being familiar with the VR30 architecture from the Q50, I wouldn't trade my VK56 V8 QX80 for the new platform just yet. But I do like what they've done with the interior and feature set.

My truck doesn't really burn or leak any oil either.
@@aygwm Then you've never really offroaded. Nothing wrong with that obviously, and most people would never be in a position to need a rear locker or rear and front locker - certainly not in a $80000 vehicle in North America. I can tell you though that real mechanical lockers front and rear make a huge difference in certain situations and no amount of traction control (brake torque distribution) can compete with mechanically locking diffs in those rare situations.l
Good lord, the new intro has raised my T levels so high that my wife’s boyfriend got scared and FINALLY left our house
This is the first Nissan in a long time that I’m actually impressed with. If I were in the market for big 3-row, I’d seriously look at the Armada.
777k subscriptions! Let's go! We need to get this to 1 million!
I'll call my relatives.
@bigpeeler lol. I'm just hyped that this thing is finally growing
Jackpot
It’s criminal that other idiot channels have way over 1mil and SG doesn’t
How it wasn’t there years ago I have no idea!
Nissan's trucks and large SUVs are underrated, in my opinion. Imagine what position Nissan would be in today if they decided ten years ago to put the 7 speed auto in all their vehicles instead of the Jatco CVT.
Agreed, those CVTs really stunted Nissan/Infiniti's growth as a brand, hampering its well-being today (i.e. bankruptcy).
I’d probably be driving a Maxima
This is more of a true Land Cruiser than the new Toyota Land Cruiser.
Different segments. Also new Land Cruiser has a magnitude of order more articulation than this
It is actually better, Nissan never lost their roots with the Patrol platform.
FACTS! You hit it on point!
It is better than the Land Cruiser, especially the QX80 version.
Mr Working man wants to buy a new 2024 Nissan Armada 😂before
Love that Nissan is not going down without a fight, this seems like a great product overall
With the Honda merger. I think we will see a lot more of Nissan in the future.
I find it interesting when you say 80k is a massive ask for a Nissan. Top of the line Ford, Nissan and Chevy trucks easily hit 80k. Except you will actually be able to buy the Armada for msrp and I am nearly certain the quality is better then the Chevy or Ford.
80k for a daily driving car is just insane
@@aygwm Honestly large SUV's like this with all the bells & whisles have been expensive for a decade.... my QX80 from 2011 (called QX56 then before they changed the names in 2014) was 92k sticker. Has many of the options on this 2024 Armada... Escalade's were around the same price back then, but most of those escalades are in the junkyard now due to electronics failures or transmissions exploding.
Yes but Toyota LC has so much more tech for the price.
@dragospahontu it doesn't. It also has a really poor motor and in the last iteration it didn't perform well or get good gas mileage and it wasn't reliable off-road either.
@@Jimster481 I'm talking about the new car. It is a far more effective offroader with the anti roll bars disabled and more efficient with the hybrid.
look at those physical controls 🤤
Mark: appologies for doing yet another SUV review :)
I enjoyed it :)
I rented an Armada once Really enjoyed the Bose sound system in it. My neighbors were also very impressed because it’s so big.
I bet they did.
My 23 Armada Bose system is awful
My next car.
Thank you for this. It was really good to know that Nissan's engineers can still manage, once-in-a-while, to build a good motor vehicle.
The Nissan Armada and V6 Frontier are waiting for you at your local dealer
If this had a Honda badge on it, all journalists would be praising it. Yet when they say "Nissan" like it's a bad thing.
With how crazy Toyota pricing has become (for a bunch of 4 bangers, mind you), I think Nissan is making a good case for itself with this.
This takes regular fuel too despite having a TTV6.
TTV6, base trim level is 56k, wtf are you smoking? You're just hating on Toyota at this point 😂
@@faheemabbas3965it may be able to be ran with 87 octane, but doesn’t mean it should be. Direct injection, twin turbos, heavy vehicle, yeah this thing will be pre-detonating like crazy. Any and every mechanic will advise against cheap, low octane gas after the damage you see to the pistons and cylinder walls due to pre-detonation.
@@haroldbeauchamp3770 I agree. My QX80 only uses Premium, I can't imagine putting in regular.
Made in Japan and bulletproof
Looking forward to seeing the thoughts of the Geese on the 2025 Tahoe and Yukon, as well as a more full review of the Armada. I'm in the market for a full-size SUV and those are my top three. I already have a below msrp offer on either a Yukon Elevation or Tahoe LT, but I may hold on to see what the Armada is like.
I didn't hold on. Ordered a Yukon!
Darn, one of my favorite segments is when you put them up on the Bendpak and talk engine and mechanics of the vehicle.
Why is this so good compared to the rest of their platforms. Great video. Looks like a top tier all road hauler
Their truck platform has always been solid.... same with their RWD car platform. The only ones that had problems were the cheaper FWD platform vehicles. Mostly due to people not servicing CVT's and driving them like they stole it all the time LOL
This new intro is growing on me, the quality of it is stunning
Its a perfect representation of their professionalism and quality alongside their brand of humor.
😂
I like it, if you can get 20% off the MSRP.
30% !! Especially with Nissan 's depreciation 😢
Yes, 20% off is called a Pathfinder. 😮😊
Why not wait until it's a year old and get 50% off?
Its not 2012, those days are over.
@future62 we were doing that shit in early 2020.
I love the use of the physical buttons 😍
I'd would take this over everything in the segment.
Seems like Nissan did a pretty good job with this, i hope it does well
Feels good to see a good review again. It comes to the wrong time or maybe good time? Now that the engineers can do their work properly again. Although the old generation was not bad and one of the few good Ghosn influences...
I love the look of the gauges. I hope in works out well for Nissan
Man this is impressive, especially given that engine is carried through on the entry level model.
Test drove this as the SL trim. Was pretty awesome. Good power and would be a great as family hauler. Was going to put a deposit on the Pro4X, but they did not have the option for second row captain's chairs. Now debating between SL or Platinum.
with recent news, I like it that the dealer are giving steep discounts on these. great value.
Armada is really awesome.
Just bought a 23 QX80 bc of this over the new armada/qx
I want a the pro4x trim. Nissan has always made very good body on frame vehicles. Especially this one being related to the patrol, they won’t ever mess this one up because of the Middle East market.
Where are they filming?
Tennessee
@jmakhlouf422 thought so I'm from there

A Nissan with air ride. I cant foresee any issues with that.
Especially after 60k miles.....

Does anyone make an air ride that lasts longer than 5-7 years?
@@TheD189379 yeah I've heard X5 owners say their air suspension is supposed to be a 10 year setup

The Pro4X looks good, hope to see Nissan make a good turn around
Hooking up with Renault and the Ghosn debacle sowed the seeds for Nissan’s current mess. Crappy CVTs also hurt. Let’s see who takes them over. This vehicle is a step in the right direction, hopefully it will prove relatively reliable.
It’s developed with heavy consideration for the Middle Eastern market. I am sure it will be very reliable, just short of a Land Cruiser. We just have to wait and see with the new turbo engine option and air suspension.
@@FJCruiser-xs8is air suspensions are notorious nightmares in most cars. I'm gonna stick with a lower trim without air suspension.
@@frederickmiller5492 You are right. I’ve actually had my Patrol in the UAE for almost 2 months now. I optioned it without the turbo engine and air suspension and so far it is good. I can live without those issues.
These vehicles should be reliable. The previous gen was the most reliable of ALL VEHICLES in this class. Bar none. They are THE CHOICE of the Middle eastern market Princes and other Royalty. The sales never slowed down and everyone who owns one has basically loved it.
My 2011 has air suspension and it hasn't failed in any way at 158k miles and my truck is 15 years old in a few months and has been on every terrain but a desert, multiple times.
Love it when you're in TN for filming! I was out at Leiper's Fork riding this past weekend but went left back on to the Trace instead of continuing straight as you did in the road test portion. Hope you had a good time down here.
This is the kind of car that my husband's girlfriend drives

How odd. My wife's boyfriend drives one too.
Not you complaining about this joke a few videos ago lol

Please please do Vinfast VF8, I really want to know what you guys think of the underneath stuff.
Vietnam 🇻🇳 cars vs Thailand 🇹🇭 cars Vinfast or Thairung
love it. this is awesome. let's go Nissan.
This looks really good and it's still disappointing to me that they cancelled the Titan. I would love to see this kind of refresh on that truck.
I was about to consider the Ford Expedition, but now I must wait for a test drive. See what makes best in the competition
The question is now Nissan Armada vs Chevorlet Tahoe 😂
@@SilverScarletSpiderRecently, Chevy reported some issues with the 6.2l engine, but the ride quality of the Tahoe is a top-notch notch. At the end of the day, armada vs. Tahoe, which is an international market product vs. American nation product fit and finish Quality is slightly lower in Tahoe
@@Visibile444 I kinda like the base model Infinti QX60 AWD more because it is only $82K and has a really high quality interior with a badge that just tells everyone else on the road "back off"
@@SilverScarletSpider, I avoid choosing luxury names like Lexus Infinity, Acura, or Audi. If I choose a real luxury Mercedes, BMW, or Jag Landrover because the insurance of other luxury names will be higher compared to their parent brand, at the same time, the top-end versions of the parent brand will give you their luxury name comforts.
Gotta hand it to Nissan, that looks pretty competitive.
Three-Row Mark back at it again
Off topic, but I wondered what the smallest Toyota is for the US market and was first surprised that the Yaris isn't listed and then that the Corolla hatchback costs more than the Corolla sedan/liftback.
In Europe we also have the Aygo, smaller than the Yaris.
Honesty, long time toyota fan, took a chance on the last gen armada and liked it. I think this generation of Armada is more interesting than any of the US toyota Body on frame SUV's.
really interested if it holds up on the lift!
Take a shot every time Mark says “that’s what they’re going for here”
Vs. the “it rides so badly it gives me a migraine” rattly old nasty pickup Sequoia, as you described before, these are great to drive.
Good timing to do a comparison (ala your recent 3 row crossovers one) but Armada vs Wagoneer vs. Expedition vs. Tahoe vs. Sequoia, especially since all are newly updated except for the archaic Sequoia & recent fresh Wag.
Very cool seeing you drive around where I grew up. I know every road you're on. Very brave doing the acceleration run right by the park ranger station. :)
Looks really cool.
I hope Nissan can survive. With products like this, hopefully it gets more exposure in the market. Nissan can make some good vehicles if given a chance.
Only 5 min in and I can solemnly say from the frontier reception to marks review here. We are trying to give Nissan the best light of what it is. And you can see plainly from the interior. They are trying here.
Will it be enough to help turn Nissan around? I don't know. But if the hardware is up to the same par as the frontier (or better) this will be a solid rig to actually buy and use for ten years.
Nissan usa if you are reading this. Please give us the xterra based on the shortened frontier chassis. I think that's gonna be a real 4runner competitor and get Nissan back into the minds of the American buyer
Nissan killed it with this new redesign
You know NIssan is trying when SG gets a press car at the same time the others do
These are actually great , I’d love one.
Is that praise dance music at 7:00? 😂🤣🙌🏽
I hope Nissan's current dire predicament will finally instill in them the realization that they really have to build a reputation for quality, reliability, longevity and ease of maintenance. That's what's really important for most people.
Love it. Always like the Armada but to have an of road one really tops it off. Hope it helps nissan.
Base models are best for Nissan Armada off-road
Post merger, I look forward to this SUV getting a better stereo and being rebadged as "Acura Fit CrossTour TrailSport Elite by Infinity"
wow, did you enjoy your time at Southall? been looking to check that place out.
9:36 clever move, saying there is so much articulation during the shot showing that there clearly isn’t.
I’m going to try my best to get this 🚙
Don’t be sad if the Nissan Armada is too expensive. the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride can make a big statement too
this could be the home run they needed to stay in relevant in NA
This thing is nice. I wish they’d put out a smaller two row body on frame SUV with the 3.8 from the frontier though
In middle east you can get this big boy with a new 3.8
I wanna know how you made the "eating grass" sound effect for the intro.
Would like to hear your opinion about the underside of the car and the mechanical parts
I'm torn between this and the new Tahoe. Advise?
The New 2025 Nissan Armada out classes the New Land Cruiser From Toyota to me.
The Large Luxury Real Off Road Option is the 2025 Nissan made in Japan. 😎🇺🇸🇮🇱👍
They are the only full size SUV that I know of that lets to move the second row while having a car seat attached which is huge. We have a 23 Tahoe and 2 kids rear facing my 5 year old has to either climb through the hatch or wait for us to move the front seats around for him to get through.
@savagegeese I'm looking for a Tahoe/Suburban or Expedition to shuttle around my 3 kids. There are no discounts to be had on those but Nissan is selling top-trim Armada's with $12k discounts, down to $63k versus ~$80k for Expeditions. Any thoughts?
My Neighbors really enjoyed the size of this one when I rented one. It really made an impression on them.
I hate how the shifter is a bunch of buttons on the dash. They should have used a steering column shifter
It would be interesting to see a video that shows how different electronics have held up over the years.....
I can tell you my 2011 has had all the electronics hold up 100% minus the screen which is now going out as of this year. Thankfully I just bought a much newer screen used on ebay for $50 and will install it soon. But literally everything on my truck works after 158k miles and it is 15 years old in a few months (May 2010 build date). Literally no complaints about it considering how we have driven it everywhere.
Great power, performance, handling, ride comfort, sound system, seats, etc
Mine is a fully loaded model with the TV's in the seats and tri-zone AC + Air ride and Adaptive cruise. No systems failed.
from that offroad footage you can see it has very limited suspension travel. It has become 90%city large SUV compared to the previous gen which in Australia, loads of people use it as offroad camping vehicle
Can’t wait for dedicated offroad content for the Pro 4x. It’s got a massive amount of competition it needs to catch up to in this segment since they’ve never advertised the Patrols capability.
With all those cameras I gotta cover this thing with steel plates now
Funny propotions, long beaky front overhang, and giant wheel wells makes it look like the tires/rims are too small. I do think Nissan punched above their weight with the rogue/pathfinder redesigns, but maybe not so much here.
The Nissan interiors have been really stepping up though I have to say.
Idk they have always made great trucks, basically everything that wasn't a FWD CVT vehicle has been pretty great for the past 2 decades.
Piano black, send it back.
that central part would be easy to cover in vinyl - that's what we plan to do when we get one.
@@frederickmiller5492 , it's a Nissan so it will soon be covered in cigarette ash and moldy food droppings anyway. Won't see any of the piano black remaining..

@@cinthe3 i agree. I hate it - but so many car companies use it now - it's hard to find any new car with zero piano black.
