This one was a shocker for both Lori and I! You really need to let Nissan know how you feel this all new Armada Pro-4X in the comments section. That way they will keep bringing extra special trims of their new models!
9 speed trannies need to propagate throughout their lineup. The new front fascia design language is awesome. Love the triple slot heritage. This vehicle makes more sense than the QX80. Loaded interior in an off-road? Spectacular suite of features. Ass end is simply superb.
They just killed Toyota Sequoia sales! And I’m a Yota guy! Large SUV with a fold FLAT floor! Now I have something to trade my Sequoia in on! Thank you Nissan!
In my opinion, the Sequoia (especially the TRD) is a massive powerhouse SUV and many cannot deny they enjoy driving it, but it's priced to the moon and beyond. Therefore, it probably will be a blip on their sales chart and they will assume there isn't a market for it. Nissan is about to prove them wrong with the new Armada if they can keep it competitively priced, only then Toyota will realize they need to get their head out of their asses with the current prices across the fleet and stop banking on brand loyalty for so long - because everyone will probably buy this instead and show a large margin in sales over the Sequoia. Toyota, wake up...
This makes the new Toyota Sequoia redesign look like a total embarassment. Nissan really knocked it out of the park with this one. 3 rows, flat floor, independent suspension and good off road equipment. Plus Nissan has built good turbo engines and that should probably have less problems than Toyota has out of the gate.
I saw it at the OC Auto Show. The fit and finish is better than the Tahoe. And it even feels nicer than the Sequia. There is no contest versus the Sequoia regarding the comfort 2nd and 3rd rows and space behind the 3rd row. Toyota should consider releasing a non-hybrid version with a flat floor and deep seats (a big ask). Of course, nobody has driven the Pro-4X, so hopefully, it performs as well as a TRD-Pro.
We finally get the goodies of the legendary Nissan Patrol in the USA!!! Now we talking. Also, it's an absolutely stunning vehicle. This Armada/Patrol is something else, a beast!
I saw the specs. Even this pro4x have less ground clearance, approach and departure angles than out going y62 Patrol. Looks to me they made the car softer and dressed it up with overlanding
@@ant208 The outgoing Y62 has more ground clearance the Y63 Patrol that was just released in the Middle East/Global market the same time this Armada was released in the USA. Now they are both identical. Therefore they did not make it softer than its Patrol counterpart not this time around, no difference at all. This time the Patrol and the Armada are the exactly the same, especially the Pro-4x. The Global Patrol will be offered in different configuration just like this Armada and the only difference is that the Global Patrol will have two engine choices instead of one. The new Patrol would be more comfortable to ride and has gone upscale, just like this Armada.

Great evolution by Nissan. Their 3.5L is bullet proof and perfected…add some proven experience with the turbos, 9 speed transmission, and a very well thought out re-design…they just hit it out of the park!!!

Hi Joe! Fellow gt350 HE owner here #507. I will be upgrading my 2015 Yukon XL this year. I love the XL and we’re so use to the space it offers. Was planning on a ’25 Yukon XL At4 but really like this Armada ProX4. Just not sure if it will be enough space! Once you go XL it’s hard to go back lol. Will definitely check these out when they arrive in dealerships. Great review as always… I enjoy your videos!
This is a beautiful SUV. I own 2023 Armada Platinum. I bought it because I knew they were going to downsize the motor. I prefer the 5.6 V-8 to any turbo. A non-turbocharged motor will last longer. However, had I not purchased the 2023, I may have considered this model for lease only.
Same bro. I drive a 22 SL, which I plan on keeping until the wheels fall of it, just for the v8 alone. But damn this Pro4x trim is speaking to me! I wish they had made it in earlier years
I always look forward to your reviews, and this was another great one! Plus, I love what you said about getting off our phones and computers and spending time with our kids. That rings true more than ever in this day and age of electronics.
Great review, defintely digging this, will watch the Platinum Reserve video too. Driving a 2015 Platinum now, ready to buy probably my last vehicle, as retired and 64 years old. Had a Tahoe Z71 in past, towed a 25' Wellcraft cuddy with it, although stretched to the limit. I am 6'5", 240, and although my Pathfinder has good room, been looking to get back into a bigger SUV now, and can afford one too. Letting those CDs past year pile on the interest to buy new now. Always loved those Patrols I would see in countries I flew to, with my old airline job. Nissan did great here.

Gloss black shows too many scratches if you really use it off road. I give them Kudos for finally coming around to the market preferences. I think overall it is a great package.
I have been going back and forth between a defender 130 and a Lexus GX550 now I think I have made my decision and it looks like that Armada 4x pro. Its the little thing like the flat folding cargo space that make a big difference to those of us who have a lot of stuff we take on our trips
Thanks for this review Joe. This one is very compelling. I like everything except for the quality of the third-row seats and the fact that there are no ventilated seats in the second row. I like the exterior design very much.
Well done Joe! Wow, regular fuel, 400+ ponies, and looks sharp! What's up with the inert rear seat ventilation button? I'm looking at all the big SUVs next year. Is there any rear seat entertainment? You sold me on a test drive; I'd never have considered a Nissan until watching your review.
Nissan killed it with the redesign. I love that they finally added the Pro-4X trim as that should have been around on the previous generation. If the twin turbo shows good reliability, this would be a great option to buy or lease.
SPOT ON Nissan! Love the height adjustment with the air shocks snd the lay flat cargo area. I have a 2021 Midnight Edition that is satisfactory, EXCEPT the cargo area, when the 2nd row is folded down, the rear console is higher than the seats, not flat. When you attempt to load cargo that's long, wide and heavy, resting on the console, the weight will cause the rear console panel to break loose; this is a design flaw that's never been addressed. I will seriously consider the 2025.
Just watched your preview of the Armada Platinum! I'm happy that the QX80 got the release early before the Armada was announced. Need to find out what Pro-4X means
The moment I saw the back glass with no exposed wiper... I knew we were in for a happy Joe. Quarter glass does look fantastic, not sure about the rest of the design, it's unique for sure.
