We bought a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander late last year. It was a $50k plus car. It has a 4 cylinder turbo engine. Coming from a 2019 Acura MDX we immediately felt the difference in power. The Grand Highlander was loud and felt under powered for the size of the car. The hood wobbled even when stationary at a stop light. I say all this to say that it is possible they are cutting corners like this on the new Forerunner. More than likely, you’re gonna feel the engine struggling and loud. I wound up trading the Grand Highlander for an Acura 2024 and am much happier.
