An 06-10 Charger RT with the road and track package provides .87g avg lateral- not exactly a slouch by today's standards- exceptional for a two-ton anything.. That number simply layes waste to old muscle cars. The stability control that cannot be turned off completely is the only thing holding the car back from returning a higher figure. It's true the STI avg is .93g- higher than the Charger, but you would certainly expect that from an AWD performance car weighing significantly less. The mission of these two cars couldn't be more different; The RT has a 120" wheelbase, which is where that car gets it's amazingly comfortable ride- even when equipped with stiff springs and the like. It's still cool to watch such different cars go head to head- they're so different in how they go about generating their performance. There's nothing wrong with either method, they're both fast cars- the consumer wins when automakers crank out such wildly different machines.

Damn dude good race
R/Ts have never been know to be quick in the first place
muscle cars in general are about top speed instead of acceleration. just becuase the subi won in 1/4 mile doesn't mean it will win in 1 mile.
Aba Dibi yeah but nobody really races that far of a stretch especially ay a drag strip, its usually quarter mile
1LE Azul Mexico.
1LE Azul They’re kinda quick, I mean, 390 pound feet isn’t nothing
@@calvinhobbes6646 Doesn't matter how much torque you have. It matters how much you weigh
Next time let the subie build boost 😂
Sounds like a personal problem lol. V8 or be late
@@marcusmoore4893 god i hate comments like that: "mOpAr oR nO cAr" "v8 Or bE lAte" half the time a v8 car is as heavy as a semi truck and spins 24/7 either all around the road or into the ditch or even a crowd. My point is that most v8 cars are garbage on track and only perform in straight lines or circles.
@@tungabunga4107 that’s not truee at all but okay lmao don’t be mad that the charger tied with the awd supercharged much lighter car lmao the charger is rwd imagine🤣😂😂and it still tied that Subaru is ass
@@tungabunga4107 not to mention they were on a dirt path and the charger still tied lmao that further proves my point that you were wrong “v8 cARs aRe GArbAGe oN TrACk” lmao but yet you’re statement got debunked and proven not true the charger did very well especially for a rwd vehicle be heavy as fuck
This brings back memories to when I were a lad. Good times pretending like our stock vehicles stats were unknown.
Very safe and exciting. Unfortunately I had to settle for seeing it on youtube
The Charger almost had him, but he was just too big lol
The charger won lol
charger fans excuse my car weights 4500 pouds
Actually it weighs 4253 pounds and I don't see why the Charger fans would need an excuse for this race since it won lol. After seeing how the Sti loss to the R/T I wonder how big the gap would be against the SRT8
American Muscle I Don't know if you noticed but the sti didn't spool the turbo at the launch (mistake #1), also didn't go when the flagged dropped. Obvious driver errors.
C Quinn Hum.. look who's making excuses now xD
But you're right though...
pikachu go learn why the sport of boxing has weight rules and classes then come back and comment
Who actually won!?
This went exactly as I thought
Little Subie that could
Next they'll race to see who's head gaskets blow first
No big deal just a 4000 dollar job at the subi dealership
Yea not at all lol never understood the hype behind them, they arent that great of a car. Especially now since everyone and their brother makes a small awd econo box
If it was a race for that, the subuie would’ve smoked the Charger lmao
@@mroversteer3739 Wait until the Subie gets that repair bill. Those boxer engines SUCK to work on. My friend is a mechanic and he hates fixing those things. (they sound great tho lol)
They were racing?
I'd still take the charger tho
2023 Edit: I actually prefer subaru now
Smart and same
@@trapr1993 Actually now after 2 years, The WRX seems to be a better option for me
Subaru One Love!
Safest race ive ever seen in the middle of nowher and awd vs rwd dam
Sooooo..... Who won? Hemi stopped first. So did he win???
Hey looks like it was a pretty close race
Thank you for enjoy this video and not being like everyone else.
That’s gonna be me and my amigo once his subie gets out the shop
Imagine if that subie launched. Would've left the hemi in the dust
Nice clean race
I own an RT and I thought the sti was gonna murder him but that was closer than I thought!
EXCUSES....EXCUSES....WAHHH WAHHHHH
Bragging about a base model rt 😂😂😂
not gonna lie i beat R/Ts with a v6 altima fully bolted
AC6PILOT why would you bolt an altima??
Haha bullshit
I call bullshit. My hemi has beaten Altimas like nothing.
Naa dude he's right. Y'all don't understand. The only 5.7 that could prob beat his Altima or Maxima bolted is the new 8 speed. And hemi c Chryslers? They are toast for one of the VQ engines. Don't sleep
@@kylemccarty5100, I own a Infiniti Q50 and have only done an ECU tune so far and can gap R/T’s from a dig any day.
Now that was a good race.
who was faster?
'15 Charger R/T is nearly a full second faster 0-60 than the '14 and earlier. Has the same engine but a different tranny and rear end. Almost every comment here would be shut up quick if this were a '15... and the R/T is the smallest of three V8 options for the Charger
the early under the 2010 had like 340 or 320 I believe the 2011 n up has 370 under rated
+Terry Holland the my 2011 STi has 305 they all have 305
Your comparing a v8 to a boxer 4 banger lol take it around some twisty roads
+Matt M I'm taken about the older chargers after 2011 370hp underated
Bring it on LOL !!!!!!!!
yeah its lighter and turbocharged, but it still has half the cylinders so I mean this just looks bad for dodge
Lmao it’s still lighter and turbocharged you also forgot to mention awd the charger is rwd and not modified it’s stock and it kept up? How exactly does this look bad if anything it’s impressive considering the weight that the charger has to pull. Put it up against a hellcat or scat pack srt8 and then let’s see the difference stop hating on dodge we don’t care if you’re don’t like the brand but keep it to yourself
So who won?
Mane dressed like John cena in 2003
The Charger is at a huge disadvantage because of the no traction dirt road
And it's 4,500lbs lol
I guess it makes up for that with torque and hp
+Amirnake lol that's not always a good thing especially with turns.
Amirnake the whole race the charger traction control was killing the power to keep traction
That Boi 4,030 actually
When your huge v8 gets creamed by a 4 cylinder
Boost the same V8 and re do the race.... We gonna ignore the turbo I see. Lol
@@motortoys9942 what happened to no replacement for displacement
@@wesleybhugwandin2808 like I said, put the same turbo the Sti has on the 5.7 and re do the race. Everything else being equal, ain't no way that sti would keep up with that same charger if it had the same turbo on it the subie does (which is really way to small for a V8).
@@wesleybhugwandin2808 or, run against a new RT not one that is 15 years old lol
@@motortoys9942 the subaru is pretty old
I was worried the minute video gonna end before the race starts
Credit to the eventual flaggers, that was a good arm drop and good race.
