- Today we have my 2006 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona side-by-side with my 2009 Dodge Charger SXT! One has the 5.7L V8 Hemi with a stock exhaust, and the other has the 3.5L V6 with a custom exhaust. I did some revs, accelerations, drive-bys, and a rev battle with each car. Cool to see how it turned out!

Reminds me when I used to mod my 2013 V6 Charger. My exhaust setup was dope for it. Now with the 5.7L 300c I really get to appreciate the HEMI. Wait until you modify it....it will sound so much better!

Yo legit that just happened to me the other week my Black 06 rt I upgraded the shit out of it and legit just bought a new exhaust for it right before the accident happened.
Damn! After the exhaust too? I feel ya. I still have parts I never got around to swapping. I wanted the SRT differential but that necessitated the accompanying driveshaft and axles. Plus cosmetic stuff; I was going to save up for new paint. Storage now. F*** it, after my current ride dies, I'm gonna find another 06-10 RT and throw all that stuff on it.
Mine either has a bad piston or a blown rod and is sitting on my lawn until I can get it fixxed

Hey man, I had a 2010 v6 challenger and recently upgraded to a 2014 challenger 5.7 hemi. I am excited to follow your mods with your v8 and will probably follow a similar path.
I know the V8 is louder but I prefer the sound of the V6 exhaust. Has a very cool tone to it👍

Your right about that I have a red 2010 people still like the 2006 -2010 models though! I think in another 10 years people are gonna want them more just because it will be a retro look during that time
11-14 are the best imho. Front end, side scoops, and taillights on point.

i just got a 2010 sxt 3.5L a few days ago. the motor actually sounds really good for a V6. and it has some pep. not super fast like a V8 but it moves

Yeah I felt bad modding it but I had to I can’t keep them tooo stock haha, but definitely trying my best to keep it in pristine condition, I love that thing!
That is the first Dodge Charger V6 that I actually like the sound of it.

Edit: Let’s be honest if the rt had the same exhaust mode the V8 would crush the V6.
I’ve owned both V6 and V8 cars. You can definitely tell a difference between the exhaust sound between the two. But this is the best sounding V6 I’ve heard tbh.

Once ive seen an 09 SXT revving and ripping down my street and sounded just like a v8. There is some SXTs out there that I can't tell if its a v6 or v8.

That oxidation on these chrysler motors seems common. Both my challenger and magnum have it, although to a lesser degree. I've seen it on many other cars too.
Now to get u a magnaflow 12468 muffler its dual in dual out I have it on my 2010 rt charger sounds amazing

Just wondering do you happen to know what's causing the whining noise in the engine bay? I have an 08 charger pursuit that I'm working on and it makes the same whining noise like this even after getting a new serpentine belt. I've heard it might be the alternator or air intake but I'm not sure

A least expensive modification to the exhaust system would be deleting either resonators or mufflers. Which one you think should go out first? I think the mufflers
In my personal opinion I prefer the sound when the muffler is changed to a more aggressive one and the resonators are deleted

Damn I'm kinda jealous of the stock V8 exhaust on american cars. My S500 is barely audible, even with no secondary cats. I'm gonna give it a active exhaust this summer tho and will probably cut the mufflers in the meantime
