● In this video I take you onboard a friend's 2003 Subaru Impreza STi with KAPS 6-speed sequential transmission for a few laps around Monza circuit. The car was running at 1.75 bar (25 psi), putting down 745hp and 790nm of torque. Make sure to turn up your speakers because this thing sounds nuts!

Don`t forget the smell of the clutch plates, gas and oil inside the car. I drive Impreza`s for over 20 years and I still love it.
Probably one of the most satisfying raw povs of a modified car racing I have seen. That whine reminds me of watching classic minis doing rally which sounds awesome, and that nice solid thunk every time he shifts is soooooo satisfying! Of course the engine sounds great too, super smooth!
I had two Minis as a youngster and I thought the same!
Porsche sounds better, and would beat the Subaru with a driver that's actually trying and equivalent horsepower.

This has nothing to do with Subarus being good, winning, etc. The Subaru has over 700hp, that Porsche has like 550hp at most, that's not even remotely fair. If you put that Subaru up against a Porsche with similar specs, and a driver that actually wants to win, the Subaru will get clapped, because rear engine rear wheel drive is far superior to front engine all wheel drive for cornering, it's not even debateable, it's a physics based scientific fact.

@@victoralvarez9459 The Subaru flat 4 engines, in particular the EJ series found in the WRX and STi are known for main bearing failure, which has a higher likelihood of occurring when redlining the engine and bouncing it off the rev limiter.

Yo, a lot of people need to understand that when you go out to drive and track like this, there a many many many different skill levels involved. And within those skill levels you have inexperienced people with 1000hp cars who cant drive well at all, and then you have people in 300hp cars who can lick the corners if they stuck their tongues out the window.
Give the competition a rest, enjoy the mechanics of racing and the spirit of the track.
It doesn't matter what you drive, what matters is if you love driving.

External wastegate is the loud af sound, they sound sick on subarus. The whine is from the sequential box which is probably worth more than the car alone 😂

The green Porsche also had higher corner speed as well as exit speed.
The whole chassis looked weak lol
Yeah it had weak brakes and the car is mostly stock so the chassis cant handle the G's and it doesn't have enough down force to slay corners
