This is without a doubt the best channel for drag racing. The way they set the races up and analyse whether someone got a good start just makes so much sense. Love it!

He learned a valuable lesson today.. never bet against and Evo, even if its down on power. Those things are mad. And the tuning potential is uncomparable evo vs subie, 4g63 legendary status. 4b11s are legendary also capable of massive power. But yeah dont bet against an evo or a Skyline. Those are legends for a reason.
free mod, crush the top of the BPV (bypass valve) factory one likes to not hold high boost as well when tuned around the 27/28psi mark. cheaper than buying aftermarket if youve had that issue, cheers!
Love both and great races. I have owned many wrxs and i currently have an evo. Sti owner has 20k+ in mods and evo owner has maybe 2k at most. My evo currently pushes 530whp full bolt on with stock motor. Its crazy what the 4b11t can handle.
We’re still doing evo vs Sti’s? Evos drag subis through the dirt. I got my first evo at 21 and I’m 30 now, nothing has changed! In fact I’m on my second car which is a 2018 zl1 1le lol I say it’s time for everyone to accept that subis will never be on top of evos, plain and simple. They just sound good but that’s it! Lol

@@davidmutua9615 Evo 9 was the last to have an FQ320 variant. Evo X had FQ300, FQ330, FQ360 and FQ400. The 360 and 400 had the 5 speed manual. The first two a six speed SST.
12.8 at 500 hp, at this point he might be faster by getting off the wheel and pushing it from behind, haha. Nice video as always but these claimed figures on the cars are waaaay off.. 400 hp and not being able to record 100-200kph, its insane.
I know the owner of this car, it was the first time he’s ever launched the car and has had very little seat time in it. I run a similar spec and have run an 11.7 at 124pmh so I’m sure improvements can be made once he’s a little more used to drag racing it.

yeah, here in Australia I have seen a bloke run 370whp VA STI at 11.9s @ 120+mph, with stock bottom end, just full bolt-on kit and E85. Looks like England has some very happy dynos or just needs a driver mod. @@scoob_dj

I drive a wrx modified. Still to this day, I always look at the evo x. Beautiful car! The only thing that kept me from getting the evo was seeing the decline of Mitsubishi. Two dealerships left in my town and I felt like I couldn’t get much support if I had the car for a long time.
As an STI owner, I'm supposed to think the Subaru is a better car, but that is absolutely not true as as blanket statement. From an engine standpoint, the simple fact that the EVO has bolt-ons to a stock motor, and that it held its own so effectively, tells me that the EVO is the "stronger" car. It's probably a fair statement to say that the 4G63 is fundamentally superior to the EJ. That being said, it's so fashionable these days to talk shit on Subarus when it comes to a drag racing situation. People seem to forget that these are both gravel warriors. I think a better comparison of the two would be to put them on a closed gravel course to see who can match power to traction in slippery corners more effectively.

I raced the same model STI at the race track in my stock Evo 7 and they were neck to neck before I started pulling away from him in the top end, Evos are just built different
It had longer gear ratio compared. They always had a difference in power delivery, and the gear ratio plays a part. I think it was pretty much even if STI was on medium boost.
People may not know this but the reason the evo final edition didn’t have the 4g63 is because AMG contract was over who designed the engine and was outbid by VW. With golf R 888.
Was the Subaru in valet mode 😅 all the money into the mods couldn’t chase down a stock ish evo with 100 more hp! Evo driver MENACE on that radio even fluffed the gear change coz of it 😂 12.8 @ only 109 and 13.2 @ only 108 Jesus Christ. Ive trapped 105 at Santa pod in a stage 1 mk2 focus ST about 270hp with 3 passengers 😅

You need a mobile Dyno on that runway. If they are that stated power then I'll eat my hat 😅. Had a JDM Evo 8 and JDM blob STi and would have the STi anyday of the week. Just felt a better all round car. Hard to explain. Evo was always on axle stands with the AYC ACD. Great video non the less as usual.

The sti had a fully forged closed deck block. That alone is like 5-8k not including labor

I think there where 2 Variants the FQ320 was the 6 Speed Manual and the FQ360 was the 5 Speed hardcore version both on the Evo 8,9 and IX

You have to remember they're probably quoting 500bhp at the crank, so they would be losing upto 25% of that figure for actual wheel horse power
