I love the skinny closet for broom, just what I need!
What is the door for that is facing the kitchen?
@@carolynnr.6409 The doors on the front are for a cupboard where they store their small counter-top appliances, like blenders, crock pots, etc. But they only needed to fit 2 per shelf, which left us with just over a foot to build a broom closet on the side for easy access.

Why would you put the broom closet access by a secret door, when you could have just opened the front door of the cabinet
Hi Sandi, the front of the cabinet houses appliances, and there are 5 shelves in there, so there would be no room for brooms, etc.
@@ClaireJefford 😊What luxury! Broom & utility cabinets are fast disappearing🤣. You usually end up stowing your vacuum in an entry or bedroom closet. Not thrilled with mixing the mop, broom, & dust pan in a cramped pantry cupboard crammed full of foodstuff, but that's usually all you got to work with.
🛠Builders act like everyone hires out a cleaning service who brings all their own tools & supplies.

It does take space from the other cabinet, which is an appliance garage, but there is so much room in the garage, so it wasn't really a concern

The broom closet wasn’t really secret storage. It was just a secret how you got to it. Apparently, the doors on the front were dummy doors, and you had to access it from the side.
