    Just FYI for others. Most matching washer dryer sets can easily be mounted on top of each other using a bracket from the manufacturer of the machines. I have done so with many sets easily.

    I think I stated on your closet redo, that I CHOSE Ikea for my kitchen, quite large, and just upgraded my appliances and countertop, and I am totally SOLD on it. I never want any other type of room cabinets. I like the drawer assembly, the hinges are top notch, the cleanability, just everything about it. You did an amazing job here, it's stunning, plus the design was so optimal! I am a big Ikea fan. Isn't it nice to walk into a newly designed room, with all of the goodies for your babies!!! Well done!

    Looks great! I don’t know how Simon can manage without a chop saw, at least, I use mine all the time. I can cross-cut any lumber with it up to 18” wide, and make compound angle cuts, of course. I also have a rolling-stand mounted table saw for rip-cuts and beveling edges. Both were used constantly during my remodeling.

    • @EmmaHill
      @EmmaHill  Год назад

      He’s just always used a manual saw. We do have a skill saw but the battery died after about a minute so it’s just easier and less faffing about to use a manual saw. As I mentioned we couldn’t justify spending money on a table mitre saw, especially when Simon is happy to use a manual one x

    Great work. As the alcoves either side of our kitchen chimney were of unequal depth, I installed Ikea kitchen cabinets (60cms deep) on one side with fridge and dishwasher, on the other side I used Besta cupboards (40 cms deep). That was in 2012....😮 With no cooker hood and thousands of steamy meals later (!😂) the Besta cupboards and the others are still in excellent state. They show no wear, no damage and no signs of damp infiltration.
    TBH I see no difference between the MDF of the kitchen carcasses and the Besta ones. Another big plus of the latter though is in addition to the wide range of finishes they have so many different types of closures eg full doors, glass doors, 1/3rd glass reveal doors, big drawers, little drawers (sound like a 70's comedian now! 😂) Always looking on the bright side I'd say your utility room will be positively supporting your home life for a long time.
    Incidentally if you want to reduce the time drying clothes that can't go in the tumbler I also recommend a dehumidifier. They are worth their price because they cost little to run, really remove the damp and I've found they cut down on dog fluff and that wet dog smell as well as that whiff of the boys back from rugby 🎉🎉Yep a machine of miracles! 😂😂

    very very nice. I have 5 pax closets in my house, 2 in the kitchen and 3 in the living room, I had them 20 years now and I just emptied one to replace for plant shelving. mine are 60cm deep as back then I had one of those old tv's, not I wouldn't need 60 but my tv and stereo have been in there for 20 years, same in the kitchen, it houses all the small kitchen machines and pantry, they're now suffering from a leak from the fridge, so make sure no water can get underneath, but this looks very very cool

    You both did an excellent job with creating such a functional and beautiful space....but as a field service technician my only cocern would be that both the washer and dryer have 'air flow' spaces required in order to allow the appliances to work at their maximum proficiency and optimum operation and since you covered up the fron ends...there is very little air flow space available for heat and mositure dissapation....which might cause you unnecessary service calls in the future. Congratulations on a job well done.
