In Delhi, temperatures hit record highs, with devastating consequences, including the deaths from heatstroke. In other regions, like the northeast, heavy rainfall and cyclones are causing severe floods and landslides. As climate change intensifies, India faces a future of more frequent and severe heatwaves, unprecedented storms, rising sea levels, and widespread desertification. Despite the escalating dangers, the government remains largely silent, failing to address the urgent need for action. With 90% of India's population at risk, particularly the poor and those who work outdoors, the crisis is deepening, yet it barely makes headlines or political discussions. I belong to the Apple growing region of Himachal, the temperature here never goes above than 30 degrees for more than a week , but this year temperature was 30 -31 degree constantly for 30+ days.

You are 100% right. During the Beijing Olympics, It had the worst AQI of anywhere in the world. After that the Chinese Gov went on a war path to clean up the cities. Get rid of random dust and dirt from construction sites, set up massive monitoring stations all over the cities and the country and made their local authorities responsible to get it cleaned up or face consequences as I understand and have read..they took this pollution issue as a national crisis that needs to be fixed asap and now look at them, in just over 10 years ..they have done wonders..just a decade .. so yes not impossible..but can India do it.. nah they wont..thats the sad part. When the PM does not even give a press conference in 10 years..does not address anything neither do other politicians and no protest from ppl, nothing will happen. i hope i am wrong..i want to be wrong..but we all know India lives in fantasy land.

Not just climate. I’m also scared for the basic necessities like water, which is getting depleted due to unregulated construction, and air, which is beyond polluted. Basics. I don’t think our children would even survive long enough to see the consequences.
Everyone thinks that people move abroad to make more money. The true reality is that they move for these basics, even if savings (after taxes) is lower than India.

Here's my take on What we should do.
1.) one year compulsory community service after twelfth class for every student.(Managing trash , making people aware, getting assignments related to these , compulsory work as a kachrewala .(gully wise duty). This will encourage the youth to manage waste and be more responsible since not everyone is like people in Indore.
2 .) govt. should acquire the unplanned nagars /cities and build high-rises and move people to those. Thus, the rest of the land can be used to plant micro forests.
I know the second one is not possible but at least I can dream of that ideal world.

The people in Delhi who are losing 12 years in life due to pollution grew up in the 90s when Air was lot better..Now think of the kids who are growing up now is this extreme pollution..

One way to reduce urban heat island effect is planting more trees and creating green spaces in cities as buffer zones to combat the heat and pollution. But our Indian cities lack proper planning. We have a strict environmental law framework but lack the conviction to implement them. Public are to blame as well. We as humans are becoming more selfish and consume more, and we don’t hold our politicians accountable.
We lack proper planning because we don't have city planners in the first place. Everyone wants to make a quick buck, get rich quick. Prostituion makes even more money and quickly too. I bet they have adopted those too.
Public should take 90% blame dude. How many people accepted to move out of Dharavi when Dharavi redevelopment plan was announced. We call bulldozer baba even if they destroy illegal buildings only. People are way more evil than politicians.

Climate change is one of the most important national issues. But the problem is no one is taking it seriously. Most probably because it is affecting mostly the lower strata and not affecting the upper class in the short run, but it will surely affect everyone in the long run. I want to highlight two incidents which I saw through my own eyes. 1) In a village in West Bengal, one relative of my friend died due to a heat stroke. He was just 29 years old.
2) My uncle lives in a sub urban area in WB. They are facing a severe water crisis. But the local media is not at all bothered. The rich are installing Submersible pumps in their houses to draw their own water at great depth. They are even giving bribes to the municipality for installation. But what about the poor? And what about when the ground water level will become even lower. I myself come from a well to do family and not Directly affected by all these. But I feel as a responsible citizen and human being I should discuss it. It's high time that the government should make serious reforms at State, central and local levels to tackle this. Everyone is complaining about climate getting worse and how it has become impossible to cope with temperature fluctuations. Nobody is ready to cut back on their consumption of fossil energy, clothes, number of houses, cars, number of two wheelers etc. As long as human greed persists nothing can be done. And planting trees is a temporary solution, we need to re-engineer our life to live on basic resources

My cousin brother died in heat stroke at Varanasi. Next date in Varanasi ghat there are more than 30 bodies came because of heat wave.
Same is the situation in Khabristans, usual in small towns 2-3 burials per week. But, with heatwave it reached 2-3 per day.

And it is only going to get worse. 550+ humans died in Mecca a few days ago owing to heat stress. If you want to battle climate change the first thing to do is to go vegan. Are you ready to be the change you want to see? Oxford Uni, David Attenborough, Jane Goodall and other environmental scientists are all asking for the world to move towards a plant based diet.
Similarly I faced in bangalore, since March only the temperature went above >25 degrees till May end. This is too much of heat compared to what it was just last year. Now year on year the changes are drastic.
Politicians these days are just cutting down trees to build roads, houses and everything and then telling us that see we're building infrastructure.

Its not completely govt that can do, we have to do. Make more people aware, plant trees, and the biggest problem pollution Is due to us. Most Indians ignore it and they are like they will throw packets on road whole travelling, and say India is dirty. People have to change, with the govt. We should all do what we can form our side.

A.C decreasea the entropy inside the room but it increases the entropy many times somewhere else, in the form of heat it emits and the electricity it uses

but the temperature is so bad now it's becoming impossible to survive without ac...we did not buy ac for all the reasons till now but we had to buy it this year cause my parents(67M and 58F) were having too much problems and having fainting spells...things have already gotten so bad that people will genuinely die without AC in many areas now

Hi Mohak, As a native of Assam I can relate to your video where you spoke about the heavy rainfalls in Assam. I am from Silchar, Assam and it rains here continuously atleast for 4/5 days in a week resulting in landslide and water lodging and flood. It wasnt like this before

This is very important. The government should definitely do something about this. This year's summer is gonna last 3 months, and I am already worrying about what will happen next year if everything remains like this. Also, it's our duty too. Nothing will work out if we do not take care of things ourselves. Small steps are important as they can bring a big impact on our lives and on the lives of future generations.
This is not going to be solved by just watching this video and commenting on it. (I am saying this to myself too, not just to you people). Let's promise each other that we will grow at least one plant nearby(big trees like neem banyan mango etc). Just imagine if 100 people read my message and do this, there will be 100 trees. And if we 100 people (I am assuming) grow one tree each year, can you imagine how many trees there will be?
I know this is a very small thing, but trust me, we can't wait for the government to do something about this( because i think they are chilling in this summer) it's our duty too. Also, please use public transport more and use cycles if possible. If not in this summer, then after October we can do this in winter, right? The fewer the number of vehicles, the lesser the pollution. Also, I have one request: please do not use electricity unnecessarily and do not waste water either.
As we are all facing this much heat, we can do these small things, and they will definitely bring some change. So anyone who is reading my message, please do this 🙏. And also, comment on what else we can all do together. 😊

In my area some people planted 1000 trees in a garden near my college in front of a graveyard and that place was looking very beautiful but the government officials cut down all those trees and sold them for money and made a huge fire there so that no proof can be found
