I am an engineering student , and it is common saying that take civil engineering if u want to be jobless. I cant still fathom such a fact that in such a huge country like India , where infrastructure is soo poor ,why demand of civil or core engineers are so low .

In India we have excess Centralism instead of Centralisation(Centralised planning & oversight system upon the work at lower levels) . Like I learnt about the Chinese System where the Central Government just fixes the core plannings & strategy which are then implemented in ground by local officials but under central oversight system & are accountable to them due to which the ambitious planning made at the upper level goes in line with the ground level work which js totally opposite in case of India. There's no transparency, accountability & oversight systems for the ground level actual working.

In other countries, we see politicians signing resignations and apologizing for their failures if any such incident happen. But here, we have grown so used to seeing the government not caring enough about serving the public so much so that we just count these big infrastructural failures as some miniature incidents. this is a very unfortunate state of living. very unfortunate.
I visited a tier 4 city there, and seeing their marvels of architecture, I could not believe my eyes, not even our tier 1 cities can compare them, let alone even think of that infrastructure. Insane architecture, meanwhile our architecture everywhere fell off, from flooding in Ram Mandir or Delhi Airport collapse or Atal Setu breaking away, to idol of Chatrapati collapsing, our infra is like that of Uganda.

As my father is a constructor, he made 20+ small bridges over lakes in my whole district in 2004-2021 but there is not a single crack in it. He never try to save soo much money from there type of high risk bridges he also get contract for village rodes and etc, there he save some amount of money.
@Hello_man16 Actually, there's no need to use money from your own pocket if the amount is sufficient. If you're not tired of saving so much money for yourself, it will be enough to build a small brigade, and yes there is some cost cutting from unnecessary things. There are also other less risky places where we can save money. And yes, there are categories like A/B/C/D that you can get based on your experience and the type of construction. My father got Category A because the project involves water/river/river bridge requirements. If you get 'A', you can also work on projects classified as B/C/D. However, as mentioned in the video, securing a lower amount with a higher grade category and a bit of corruption might help you get the project. 😂

As my father is a constructor, he made 20+ small bridges over lakes in my whole district in 2004-2021 but there is not a single crack in it. He never try to save soo much money from there type of high risk bridges he also get contract for village rodes and etc, there he save some amount of money.
@Hello_man16 Actually, there's no need to use money from your own pocket if the amount is sufficient. If you're not tired of saving so much money for yourself, it will be enough to build a small brigade, and yes there is some cost cutting from unnecessary things.
There are also other less risky places where we can save money.
And yes, there are categories like A/B/C/D that you can get based on your experience and the type of construction. My father got Category A because the project involves water/river/river bridge requirements. If you get 'A', you can also work on projects classified as B/C/D. However, as mentioned in the video, securing a lower amount with a higher grade category and a bit of corruption might help you get the project. 😂
