The fact that most people in society expect individuals to be stagnant, so called remain 'constant,' on surface is a simple issue but dig deeper, points to a fundamental psychology of people: Mistrust. In general, there is no said way of knowing whether the person is spouting beliefs because of convenience or genuine conviction in the beliefs. For example, Gandhi's views on caste before might have been due to convenience or need of real support. With time, he further thought upon and introspected his views on it, leading to a significant change (may not be a complete U turn) in his views on caste. This change brings upon a sense of betrayal in a follower, because he might have followed him due to his earlier stance on it, and the follower, as you correctly pointed., mostly don't think for themselves. The follower became one, for the purpose of validation and hence his sense of betrayal. Sadly, a lot of people misuse this characteristic and hence start their Political Journey with such inflammatory speeches, which personally they might not even believe in.

Yup he was a true visionary. In the constituent assembly discussion, he was asked by a member as to why "socialism" has not been included in the Constitution. Dr. Ambedkar replied by saying that what kind of economy the people of that time would want, should be left to them. The Constitution is not a rigid document through which makers of the constitution impose their ideas on the people of all times. Hence the word "Socialist" has been left out. But alas, it was forcibly added during Emergency by Indra Gandhi.
Yes he was called father of Indian constitution but The Constitution of India was written by Prem Bihari Narayan Raizada who was a famous calligrapher at that time. It was handwritten in italics by him and later crafted and decorated by Santiniketan artists such as Behar Ram Manohar Sinha and Nand Lal Bose. A Drafting Committee led by B.R. Ambedkar drafted the Indian Constitution, which originally contained 22 parts, 8 schedules, and 395 articles.

I found opinions of Ram Chandra Guha and 2 other articles of different people discussing the same Ram Chandra Guha’s “ opinion “ on Gandhi. So basically his hole “sex” section is based only on the opinion of Ram Chandra Guha. That too is not factual and a pass on story which Mr.Guha himself said that he has been told and has no medical report or any other documentation to support. We both have a different definition of “ research and plagiarism “ Research papers are published when the are backed by the findings and factual data which then goes an extensive investigation by a legitimate committee. Not on some one’s opinion on some chapter of a book.

He and his team have researched the "Collected works of Mahatma Gandhi" whose first 12 volumes have over 5000 pages which includes his letters and translation of them from Gujarati to English as well. Also, personal diaries of Manuben has details of his experiments with celibacy. You can't deny all of that. Apart from this, you actually deviated from your original comment about 'plagiarism'. How is it a plagiarism if someone consolidates different researches and provides them in one go?
Gandhi is an actor, a idol who learned his skills from his dad, and his goal was to bring radical changes in society according to anything he wishes. He wanted to change other people, so he molded himself in such a manner that people would believe in him blindly. His actions to help other people turned into his ego, telling him to become popular and a hero, not thinking about how it would affect other people. Think for a moment, under what conditions a person would be known for many years and decades. Only a politician is capable of such rivalry, valor and grandeur. Just like the 'MOST POPULAR PERSON IN INDIA TODAY'. Who controls people by implementing techniques of brute force and deception. My dad has always told me since the beginning that he was never the great man that people made him out to be. He told me all the political drama attached to him. We, as Indians, are taught about him a lot and he's referenced in a lot of things. I personally think that this is so because he went on the path of non-violence and they want to promote that in the youth of this country. However, he's given way more attention than he actually deserves and I think there were so many other freedom fighters who actually fought against the Britishers and made it possible for us to be free in this day and age. They are given way less credit than they deserve
Gandhi was never great. All because of his non violence sht he always played one sided secularism . one of the main reason i strongly oppose his ideas is because of moplah massacre in 1921 where lakhs of hindus were killed the number is still unknown but still he didn't did anything he also wrote in his letter that women of hindu family should suicide instead of fighting back. this is the only reason i hate him. if someone deserved to be respected i would say it should be Netaji subhash Chandra bose, bhagat singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad etc.

MUHAMMAD (PBUH) IN BUDDHIST SCRIPTURES by Dr. Zakir Naik 1. Buddha prophesised the advent of a Maitreya: A) Almost all Buddhist books contain this prophecy. It is in Chakkavatti Sinhnad Suttanta D. III, 76: "There will arise in the world a Buddha named Maitreya (the benevolent one) a holy one, a supreme one, an enlightened one, endowed with wisdom in conduct, auspicious, knowing the universe: "What he has realized by his own supernatural knowledge he will publish to this universe. He will preach his religion, glorious in its origin, glorious at its climax, glorious at the goal, in the spirit and the letter. He will proclaim a religious life, wholly perfect and thoroughly pure; even as I now preach my religion and a like life do proclaim. He will keep up the society of monks numbering many thousands, even as now I keep up a society of monks numbering many hundreds". B) According to Sacred Books of the East volume 35 pg. 225: "It is said that I am not an only Buddha upon whom the leadership and order is dependent. After me another Buddha maitreya of such and such virtues will come. I am now the leader of hundreds, he will be the leader of thousands." C) According to the Gospel of Buddha by Carus pg. 217 and 218 (From Ceylon sources): "Ananda said to the Blessed One, "Who shall teach us when thou art gone?" And the Blessed one replied, 'I am not the first Buddha who came upon the earth nor shall I be the last. In due time another Buddha will arise in the world, a holy one, a supremely enlightened one, endowed with wisdom in conduct, auspicious, knowing the universe, an incomparable leader of men, a master of angels and mortals. He will reveal to you the same eternal truths, which I have taught you. He will preach his religion, glorious in its origin, glorious at the climax and glorious at the goal. He will proclaim a religious life, wholly perfect and pure such as I now proclaim. His disciples will number many thousands while mine number many hundreds.' Ananda said, 'How shall we know him?' The Blessed one replied, 'He will be known as Maitreya'." (i) The Sanskrit word "Maitreya" or its equivalent in Pali "Metteyya" means loving, compassionate, merciful and benevolent. It also means kindness and friendliness, sympathy, etc. One Arabic word which is equivalent to all these words is "Rahmat". In Surah Al-Anbiya: "We sent thee not, but as a mercy for all creatures." [Al-Qur'an 21:107] Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was called the merciful, which is "Maitri". (ii) The words Mercy and Merciful are mentioned in the Holy Qur'ân no less than 409 times. (iii) Every chapter of the Glorious Qur'ân, except Chapter 9, i.e. Surah Taubah begins with the beautiful formula, 'Bismillah Hir-Rahman Nir-Rahim', which means 'In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful'. (iv) The Word Muhammad is also spelt as 'Mahamet' or 'Mahomet' and in various other ways in different languages. The word 'Maho' or 'Maha' in Pali and Sanskrit mean Great and Illustrious and 'Metta' means mercy. Therefore 'Mahomet' means 'Great Mercy'. 2. Buddha's doctrine was Esoteric and Exoteric: According to Sacred Books of the East, volume 11, pg. 36 Maha-Parinibbana Sutta chapter 2 verse 32: "I have preached the truth without making any distinction between exoteric and esoteric doctrine, for in respect of truths, Ananda, the Tathagata has no such thing as the closed fist of a teacher, who keeps something back". Muhammad (pbuh) on the commandment of Almighty God delivered the message and doctrine without making any distinction between esoteric and exoteric. The Qur'ân was recited in public in the days of the Prophet and is being done so till date. The Prophet had strictly forbidden the Muslims from hiding the doctrine 3. Devoted Servitors of the Buddhas: According to Sacred Books of the East volume 11 pg. 97 Maha-Parinibbana Sutta Chapter 5 verse 36: "Then the Blessed one addressed the brethren, and said, "Whosoever, brethren have been Arahat-Buddhas through the long ages of the past, they were servitors just as devoted to those Blessed ones as Ananda has been to me. And whosoever brethren shall be the Arahat-Buddhas of the future, there shall be servitors as devoted to those Blessed ones as Ananda has been to me"." The Servitor of Buddha was Ananda. Muhammad (pbuh) also had a servitor by the name Anas (r.a.) who was the son of Malik. Anas (r.a...) was presented to the Prophet by his parents. Anas (r.a...) relates: "My mother said to him, 'Oh Messenger of God, here is your little servant'." Further Anas relates, "I served him from the time I was 8 years old and the Prophet called me his son and his little beloved". Anas (r.a...) stayed by the Prophet in peace and in war, in safety as well as in danger till the end of his life. i) Anas (r.a.), even though he was only 11 years old stayed beside the Prophet during the battle of Uhud where the Prophet's life was in great danger. ii) Even during the battle of Hunain when the Prophet was surrounded by the enemies who were archers, Anas (r.a...) who was only 16 years old stood by the Prophet. Anas (R) can surely be compared with Ananda who stood by Gautam Buddha when the mad elephant approached him. 4. Six Criteria for Identifying Buddha: According to the Gospel of Buddha by Carus pg. 214: "The Blessed one said, "There are two occasions on which a Tathagata's appearance becomes clear and exceedingly bright. In the night Ananda, in which a Tathagata attains to the supreme and perfect insight, and in the night in which he passes finally away in that ultra passing which leaves nothing whatever of his earthly existence to remain.' " According to Gautam Buddha, following are the six criteria for identifying a Buddha. i) A Buddha attains supreme and perfect insight at night-time. ii) On the occasion of his complete enlightenment he looks exceedingly bright iii) A Buddha dies a natural death. iv) He dies at night-time. v) He looks exceedingly bright before his death. vi) After his death a Buddha ceases to exist on earth. i) Muhammad (pbuh) attained supreme insight and Prophethood at night-time. According to Surah Dukhan: "By the books that makes thing clear ? We sent it down during a blessed night." [Al-Qur'ân 44:2-3] According to Surah Al-Qadar: "We have indeed revealed this (message) in the night of power." [Al-Qur'ân 97:1] ii) Muhammad (pbuh) instantly felt his understanding illumined with celestial light.
Me too. Gandhi actually influenced my spiritual development, tho he died the year I was born. I greatly admired what he did in India; his insistence on non-violence impressed me most, and seemed very like the teachings of Christ. When I was informed that Gandhi was not going to Heaven because he was not Christian, I thought that was small minded and silly. I began separating from religion then.
Gandhiji kept adapting his thoughts throughout his life! Like only after reading and looking at work by Babasaheb Ambedkar, his views changed more positive ways for casteism. He accepted his mistakes, and admit how his views got changed throughout his life in all sorts!

Have you even heard of the legal term, "pleading guilty"? Him pleading guilty to a crime doesn't lessen the crime at all, or make him a good person. The guy simply said that he "accepted" his mistakes. Don't use words/terms that you don't know to avoid embarrassing yourself. Plus, you cannot compare this age to the past. In the past, people used to do many things that are considered very inappropriate today. For example, it is very likely that your great grandmother was also a minor when your great grandfather married her. Would you call him a criminal for that? Nobody's denying that Gandhi did some weird things. Heck, even Gandhi himself wrote about these experiments for other people to read, including the relatives or husbands of the girls he slept with. This shows how even his bad deeds were not motivated by bad intentions. Gandhi hid nothing about himself. He even wrote in one of his books that he regretted wasting time having sex with his wife when he should have been taking care of his ill father. "Confessing" would be when you have been put in a situation by others to tell the truth. In Gandhi's case, he told the truth without anybody asking about it.

At 11:50, you asked which gandhi should we believe in?...Well, he answered this himself in his book "Hind Swaraj: The Indian home rule". He said, "I am not at all concerned with appearing to be consistent. In my search after Truth I have discarded many ideas and learnt many new things. Old as I am in age, I have no feeling that I have ceased to grow inwardly or that my growth will stop at the dissolution of the flesh. What I am concerned, with is my readiness to obey the call of Truth, my God, from moment to moment, and, therefore, when anybody finds any inconsistency between any two writings of mine, if he has still faith in my sanity, lie would do well to choose the later of the two on the same subject". It means that whenever his ideas stand at a conflict at two different times, later one should be taken as his opinion. An example being, he mentioned in the same book about him taking back the Non-cooperation movement after the chauri-chaura case and calling it "The Himalayan Blunder". Anyone who would like to know more about Gandhian philosophy can read this book. It's just approx 100 pages and gives complete gist of what he thought of independence as. They get influenced by their surroundings, the books they read, information they consume by ways of media, people they mingle with, information that was already in them at birth and even by divine revelations. Hence, we are not always going to agree with, or like certain behaviour of people. As a young girl I never could agree with my own father's behaviour or beliefs. However, now I am able to understand every single one of them. It's because now I am much more informed. Whereas my mother even till this very date does not understand him. By far the best video on this subject. The fact that most people in society expect individuals to be stagnant, so called remain 'constant,' on surface is a simple issue but dig deeper, points to a fundamental psychology of people: Mistrust.
In general, there is no said way of knowing whether the person is spouting beliefs because of convenience or genuine conviction in the beliefs. For example, Gandhi's views on caste before might have been due to convenience or need of real support. With time, he further thought upon and introspected his views on it, leading to a significant change (may not be a complete U turn) in his views on caste.
This change brings upon a sense of betrayal in a follower, because he might have followed him due to his earlier stance on it, and the follower, as you correctly pointed., mostly don't think for themselves. The follower became one, for the purpose of validation and hence his sense of betrayal.
Sadly, a lot of people misuse this characteristic and hence start their Political Journey with such inflammatory speeches, which personally they might not even believe in.

My dad has always told me since the beginning that he was never the great man that people made him out to be. He told me all the political drama attached to him. We, as Indians, are taught about him a lot and he's referenced in a lot of things. I personally think that this is so because he went on the path of non-violence and they want to promote that in the youth of this country. MUHAMMAD (PBUH) IN BUDDHIST SCRIPTURES

1. Buddha prophesised the advent of a Maitreya:
A) Almost all Buddhist books contain this prophecy. It is in Chakkavatti Sinhnad Suttanta D. III, 76: "There will arise in the world a Buddha named Maitreya (the benevolent one) a holy one, a supreme one, an enlightened one, endowed with wisdom in conduct, auspicious, knowing the universe:
"What he has realized by his own supernatural knowledge he will publish to this universe. He will preach his religion, glorious in its origin, glorious at its climax, glorious at the goal, in the spirit and the letter. He will proclaim a religious life, wholly perfect and thoroughly pure; even as I now preach my religion and a like life do proclaim. He will keep up the society of monks numbering many thousands, even as now I keep up a society of monks numbering many hundreds".
B) According to Sacred Books of the East volume 35 pg. 225: "It is said that I am not an only Buddha upon whom the leadership and order is dependent. After me another Buddha maitreya of such and such virtues will come. I am now the leader of hundreds, he will be the leader of thousands."
C) According to the Gospel of Buddha by Carus pg. 217 and 218 (From Ceylon sources): "Ananda said to the Blessed One, "Who shall teach us when thou art gone?" And the Blessed one replied, 'I am not the first Buddha who came upon the earth nor shall I be the last. In due time another Buddha will arise in the world, a holy one, a supremely enlightened one, endowed with wisdom in conduct, auspicious, knowing the universe, an incomparable leader of men, a master of angels and mortals. He will reveal to you the same eternal truths, which I have taught you. He will preach his religion, glorious in its origin, glorious at the climax and glorious at the goal. He will proclaim a religious life, wholly perfect and pure such as I now proclaim. His disciples will number many thousands while mine number many hundreds.'
Ananda said, 'How shall we know him?'
The Blessed one replied, 'He will be known as Maitreya'."
(i) The Sanskrit word "Maitreya" or its equivalent in Pali "Metteyya" means loving, compassionate, merciful and benevolent. It also means kindness and friendliness, sympathy, etc. One Arabic word which is equivalent to all these words is "Rahmat". In Surah Al-Anbiya: "We sent thee not, but as a mercy for all creatures." [Al-Qur'an 21:107]
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was called the merciful, which is "Maitri".
(ii) The words Mercy and Merciful are mentioned in the Holy Qur'ân no less than 409 times.
(iii) Every chapter of the Glorious Qur'ân, except Chapter 9, i.e. Surah Taubah begins with the beautiful formula, 'Bismillah Hir-Rahman Nir-Rahim', which means 'In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful'.
(iv) The Word Muhammad is also spelt as 'Mahamet' or 'Mahomet' and in various other ways in different languages. The word 'Maho' or 'Maha' in Pali and Sanskrit mean Great and Illustrious and 'Metta' means mercy. Therefore 'Mahomet' means 'Great Mercy'.
2. Buddha's doctrine was Esoteric and Exoteric:
According to Sacred Books of the East, volume 11, pg. 36 Maha-Parinibbana Sutta chapter 2 verse 32:
"I have preached the truth without making any distinction between exoteric and esoteric doctrine, for in respect of truths, Ananda, the Tathagata has no such thing as the closed fist of a teacher, who keeps something back".
Muhammad (pbuh) on the commandment of Almighty God delivered the message and doctrine without making any distinction between esoteric and exoteric. The Qur'ân was recited in public in the days of the Prophet and is being done so till date. The Prophet had strictly forbidden the Muslims from hiding the doctrine
3. Devoted Servitors of the Buddhas:
According to Sacred Books of the East volume 11 pg. 97 Maha-Parinibbana Sutta Chapter 5 verse 36: "Then the Blessed one addressed the brethren, and said, "Whosoever, brethren have been Arahat-Buddhas through the long ages of the past, they were servitors just as devoted to those Blessed ones as Ananda has been to me. And whosoever brethren shall be the Arahat-Buddhas of the future, there shall be servitors as devoted to those Blessed ones as Ananda has been to me"."
The Servitor of Buddha was Ananda. Muhammad (pbuh) also had a servitor by the name Anas (r.a.) who was the son of Malik. Anas (r.a...) was presented to the Prophet by his parents. Anas (r.a...) relates: "My mother said to him, 'Oh Messenger of God, here is your little servant'." Further Anas relates, "I served him from the time I was 8 years old and the Prophet called me his son and his little beloved". Anas (r.a...) stayed by the Prophet in peace and in war, in safety as well as in danger till the end of his life.
i) Anas (r.a.), even though he was only 11 years old stayed beside the Prophet during the battle of Uhud where the Prophet's life was in great danger.
ii) Even during the battle of Hunain when the Prophet was surrounded by the enemies who were archers, Anas (r.a...) who was only 16 years old stood by the Prophet.
Anas (R) can surely be compared with Ananda who stood by Gautam Buddha when the mad elephant approached him.
4. Six Criteria for Identifying Buddha:
According to the Gospel of Buddha by Carus pg. 214:
"The Blessed one said, "There are two occasions on which a Tathagata's appearance becomes clear and exceedingly bright. In the night Ananda, in which a Tathagata attains to the supreme and perfect insight, and in the night in which he passes finally away in that ultra passing which leaves nothing whatever of his earthly existence to remain.' "
According to Gautam Buddha, following are the six criteria for identifying a Buddha.
i) A Buddha attains supreme and perfect insight at night-time.
ii) On the occasion of his complete enlightenment he looks exceedingly bright
iii) A Buddha dies a natural death.
iv) He dies at night-time.
v) He looks exceedingly bright before his death.
vi) After his death a Buddha ceases to exist on earth.
i) Muhammad (pbuh) attained supreme insight and Prophethood at night-time.
According to Surah Dukhan: "By the books that makes thing clear ? We sent it down during a blessed night." [Al-Qur'ân 44:2-3]
According to Surah Al-Qadar: "We have indeed revealed this (message) in the night of power." [Al-Qur'ân 97:1]
ii) Muhammad (pbuh) instantly felt his understanding illumined with celestial light.

I greatly admired what he did in India; his insistence on non-violence impressed me most, and seemed very like the teachings of Christ. When I was informed that Gandhi was not going to Heaven because he was not Christian, I thought that was small minded and silly. I began separating from religion then.

"Confessing" would be when you have been put in a situation by others to tell the truth. In Gandhi's case, he told the truth without anybody asking about it.

I only love these points about Gandhiji which were discussed in the video... I DON'T know what r the problems with these types of RUclipsrs who can't comprehend these points (• Brahmacharya and purpose of sex • Varnashram is not Casticism •AtmanirbharEconomy).

He said, "I am not at all concerned with appearing to be consistent. In my search after Truth I have discarded many ideas and learnt many new things. Old as I am in age, I have no feeling that I have ceased to grow inwardly or that my growth will stop at the dissolution of the flesh. What I am concerned, with is my readiness to obey the call of Truth, my God, from moment to moment, and, therefore, when anybody finds any inconsistency between any two writings of mine, if he has still faith in my sanity, lie would do well to choose the later of the two on the same subject".
It means that whenever his ideas stand at a conflict at two different times, later one should be taken as his opinion. An example being, he mentioned in the same book about him taking back the Non-cooperation movement after the chauri-chaura case and calling it "The Himalayan Blunder".
Anyone who would like to know more about Gandhian philosophy can read this book. It's just approx 100 pages and gives complete gist of what he thought of independence as.
You will definitely not agree with all his ideas but they'll do force you to ponder upon them.

All human beings are imperfect. They get influenced by their surroundings, the books they read, information they consume by ways of media, people they mingle with, information that was already in them at birth and even by divine revelations. Hence, we are not always going to agree with, or like certain behaviour of people. As a young girl I never could agree with my own father's behaviour or beliefs. However, now I am able to understand every single one of them. It's because now I am much more informed. Whereas my mother even till this very date does not understand him. My point is, when it is difficult to understand our own family members. How can we be a judge of others? We should not.
